your phone is not broke! Relax! Enter Download mode (Vol. down+ home+ power) and flash a stock firmware of your region or any other stock! Guide here
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS!
If the phone does not boot up and is looping, then simply remove the battery> Reinsert> enter recovery (vol. up+home+power) and do a factory reset and cache wipe and reboot!

are you sure the jig will work because i read online that that only fixed soft bricked phones, and mine is described as a hardbricked phone
if your phone could not turn on, jig probably won't work for you. It is best used for boot-loop or similar situations.

If home is a soft key then you have the AT&T SGS2. Go to that forum and ask for the key combination for download mode. Once you are in download mode flash a rom.

hello there, guys and girls.
Im trying to root Galaxy SII, with stock ICS ROM.
I've downloaded the CWM and the Busybox Installer and copied both to an external SDCard.
the problem is that when I try to reboot the phone to recovery mode using Vol Up/Home/power combination, im reaching the "downloading, dont turn off your phone" message which wont progress any further. There is no option to choose to "apply update from external storage" as required.
please help!
thank you in advance,
Kirill

Samsung Galaxy S2 has three different boot method.
Normal boot method done by using power button.
You can also hard shutdown the device by holding the power button for 8 seconds, so you don’t need to do battery removal method.
Download mode is necessary for you to flash ROM or kernel.
To perform this boot method, you need to turn off the device.
You need to press and hold volume down, home button, and power button simultaneously.
If you succeed, you will see green download mode on your device.
You can also get into this mode by using USB Jig. You can get the Jig from ebay for few bucks.
Recovery mode, is used to boot recovery such CWM, of course you need to flash the recovery first.
By flashing CF kernel, actually you get rooted devices and also CWM recovery.
To enter this mode, you need to turn off the device first.
You need to press and hold volume up, home button, and power button simultaneously.
If you succeed, after the Samsung Galaxy boot, you will enter the CWM recovery menu.
If you installed custom ROM there should be a reboot into recovery options to get into CWM, so you don’t need to press the button combination
check Q&A for answers about rooting and everything
hope it helped

im trying to follow the guide i've found in order to root the phone with stock, unrooted ROM.
If you reeeeally wanna go to recovery.. Go to download mode, root it.. by then you can go to recovery with the 3 button combo, if not, u can always go to recovery via cwm.

Since we are somehow on the topic of recoveries, how do I reboot into cwm recovery manually? I press vol up, home and power button but it reboots into normal recovery. Any help?
I wanted to install a new rom,I reboot my phone and I installed something what I found on my micro SD,I confused something with the file of new rom,and now it doesn't start, only what I see after 1 hour is the image of boot (Samsung Galaxy S II, like that image http://www.gophoto.it/view.php?i=htt...ootingsgs5.jpg)
What can I do to start my android ?
Sorry for my little english
it's pity....it's pity that you post your noob question in general forum.
about your "problem": do a wipe/factory reset from recovery, first of all. if your problem won't be solved then reflash any other firmware through odin
take your battery out, put it back
hold:
volume up + home + power, when GSII logo shows up release them, it will enter recovery mode
reflash your rom, kernel and stuff
if nothing works download odin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278)
hold volume down + home + power, will enter download mode
from there you can flash stock ROM using odin. Take a look at the guide above.
post with more details next time.

afaik if it the screen turns on, even only for SII logo, you can enter download mode.
with the phone turned off hold vol down + home + power it will show a warning screen.
if you can't do that then take to samsung repair center, they know how to do it.

Man...U'd be kind as people tried to help u
Be sure u press buttons at phone off : power+home+vol down (together at same time & release just pow button while i9100 splash screen appears) >>>> it'll enter to download mode then u can advance to flash with Odin3 1.85 (this is the most compatible Odin w/ i9100).
if u couldn't access d/l mode by as per above make sure u've adb in ur PC, connect them by USB then type in adb terminal "adb reboot download" (without quotes) to enter d/l mode.
Neither means u've hardbricked ur phone..

Hello,
I tried to reinstall a custom rom but I forgot to install it with CWM so it was installed with the default Android recovery. After the ZIP was installed I rebooted my phone but now it doesn't get any further than the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i logo. I tried to boot in recovery and download mode but both of them doesn't work. I hope some of you can help me. I bricked my phone before but then I could get into download mode but now I don't.
Thanks a lot

As you can't enter the Recovery Mode and Download Mode, you have pretty much hard-bricked your phone. Since the above method didn't work, then you can try the USB Jig (not always guaranteed to work). If USB Jig did work, then it will force open the Download Mode so you can flash stock rom back using odin. If USB Jig doesn't work either, then your last option is to consult the Service Center. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

Download Mode for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830- Vol Down+ Home+ Power
Download Mode for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i- Vol Up+ Vol Down+ Power
Glad to hear you got it working again
Im turning on a Galaxy Ace and it says on the Galaxy Ace startup logo forever.
Is there any way to hard reset it? Trying to put it into Download Mode and/or Safe Mode the same exact thing happens.
When I turn the phone off and charge it thru AC, the battery icon comes on stating it is charging. Does Odin see it in tha moment so maybe I can flash it then? Like I said i cannot get into safe or download mode.
Im leaving the phone on and see if it will completely drain the battery and charge it up again from there.

Well, WhatsApp "self uninstalled" itself as when I tried to see it in the Applications list all that appeared is "com.whatsapp" so I went ahead and redownloaded from the Play Store. It complained about there being low disk space but it told me that it installed it successful. I tried to open it and it said that it had stopped working. So I went ahead and turned it off. And ever since that, I try turning it on and it stays like that.
Like I mentioned, I try entering Download Mode and it stays the same way with the logo.

First of all, there is always a Recovery Mode in your phone. If you haven't installed any separate one's, then you will have the stock Recovery Mode. To enter it, hold on Vol Up + Home + Power button while switching on your phone. Pressing the Download Mode combo normally and pressing the Download Mode combo while your phone is connected to odin is an entirely different thing. Now you can also try the USB Jig but let me tell you its not always guaranteed to work. If USB Jig did work, then it will force open the Download Mode and you install the stock rom back using odin. If none of the above works, then its better to consult the Service Center as it could be a hardware problem.
