Tweak Galaxy Mega resolution? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hi all,
Just curious, is it possible to tweak Galaxy Mega 6.3 current resolution from 720p to 1080p? Is this resolution setting locked by hardware or software? Because judging by the screen, it feels like the Mega should be able to display 1080p without any problems, unless the graphics hardware is too low end.

The panel is 720p so will always only ever be 720p but can play 1080p fine. Dpi displayed can be changed to show more but its still 720p

Is there any way to get video recording mode using the auto focus, which exists in no official or the rom.

atrix autofocus video
You say tegra-2 not support autofocus in video? But in camera illusion pro autofocus in video work fine. May be its a programm problem?
Are you know app videorecorder with this function?

Interesting thing is that autofocus on video works perfect on leaked official ICS. The bad thing is I get screen tearing after a while so it's unusable for me.

Perhaps when mmonturi and krystianp are able to get the JB kernel working, we may have a working autofocus.

Laggy pop-up play

When I use pop-up play with self captured vids it makes my phone lag quite a bit which renders the feature pretty useless imo. Why is this? And is it even normal?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Also, when I push the vid in the corner (so a little part isn't shown) the lag goes away completely. It doesn't get better when the part not shown is bigger. The behaviour isn't present at all when using the example vid. Also I'm on the stock LFB rom.

Ok it has something to do with the vid being 1080p otherwise it wont happen, but as only the slightest part of the vid has to be covered by the edge of the screen it shouldn't be a matter of processing power. It has to be some kind of bug. Can anyone else confirm this bug?

i dunno why yours lags but did you ever try this app i find it much better does the same thing with many more options including resizing

I don't really like that app. I prefer the stock one. Also, the video itself doesn't lag but my phone does while playing it. For example while swiping trough apps or homescreens. But only with 1080p as I said.

No lag here, currently writing this while watching a self captured 1080p vid, which rom/kernel are you on?

I really hope the jelly bean update will fix this.
i am running the i747 north american galaxy s3. I get almost the same symptoms. It will lag with any video, but if i put a little bit of the edge off screen then it stops lagging. I have tried the jellybean leaks and pop up play runs perfectly smooth so it seems like it is something to do with the vsync.

I've changed DPI several times I know that bit.. but I was just wondering is Tue resolution change possible .. like our screen does 720p was wondering it was basically capable of 1080p or even less than but no doubt if it was available it most would choose 1080

fps on video recordings

Does anyone happen to know what the frame rate is on this phone for video recordings? I see info online saying that it's set at 30fps but my recordings come out a 25.6 for some reason. Is this something that could be getting altered by the ROM I'm using? Really screws up the footage I shoot.

By default there is no way to "record it slow" but there is actually no difference.
Slow mo cameras, the real ones. Simply shoot at a high framerate (60,120,240, 1000s etc) and then they change the frame rate to 24 or something when they save. The phone wont change the frame rate when it saves so you'll have to do that yourself.
If you want to "record at slow mo" in which, I assume you mean get a video that will play back in slow motion by default, You will need to edit the footage in something like After Effects and set the frame rate to something lower, like 24 or 30.
So really what you want is high frame rate video, saved with a lower frame rate, which by default the camera does not have, sorry.
What frame rate is the gs4 slow motion feature?
