I want to turn my galaxy s2 into a actioncam, therefore i need an app that can records with the screen locked or off. is there an exciting or developed app that does that.

This is almost a perfect program for it, only it doesn't rotate the camera, and i have to put the camera in upright position on the steering.
If there's another app for rotating the movie's its perfect.

Use 'Camera ICS' from the market. Much better UI and it doesnt crash.

Ah well, i noticed that problem while using skype. But, so far as i know, no solution. I have to sit infront of a very bright light, like a high power table lamp for it to work.
Can something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266208 be made for us, eg hold the volume key in standby mode and launch the camera app, either with a mod like the above or an app?

Wakes phone from standby mode? Have you used it?
+1, waiting for the screen to turn on and then open the camera usually results in a lost photo op. :|
And in the hurry, I tend to open everything on the homescreen but the camera

Exactly. Well a camera shortcut on lockscreen helps a lot but what I'm asking is a lot faster and guarantees you ll catch that critical moment Hope someone helps on that.

Even if it could be set up to just take a photo on say holding down volume, without opening up the camera app.
You wouldn't have time to frame the shots anyway.
There are a few apps which take photos by just tapping an icon, without opening up anything or a viewfinder.
Maybe mapping this to a hardware button? Would make taking a photo faster, saving on the second or 2 it takes to open the app.
As per the title, when the screen is off and I get (for example) an sms, i'd like to screen to light up for a few seconds. I've had other phones that did this.
Is it possible with the Z2?
That depends on the app I guess? It works on Snapchat. There is an option to turn on the screen and it works.

Thanks for the response. I can't see such an option for the default sms app, so maybe it's not possible.

Hi All
I am loving my new Nexus 9, but with a couple of issues.
The main one is that I screen mirror to my chromecast alot. The problem with this is being a 4:3 screen, my widescreen TV just has big black bars to the sides.
Is there anyway to force the tablet to be wide screen, where I will get the black bars on the tablet but then will be full screen on the TV?
Or is there anyway to stretch the output on the TV?

i modified aspect ratio in second screen, app and nothing changed, only in oversize, i can modify something, but only reducing image inside the 4:3 tv window, leting untouched the 2 black lines. 4 days working on, trying all the app, second screen app is the only one seems can do it, but only seems to?
Hello. I have Xperia Z with CM13 (6.0.1). I have broken 1/3 touch panel. I can launch Snapchat, but I cant add my friends, etc.. Is there any way to rotate it? Or scale for working part of display? Thanks in advice.
