i recently downloaded the @ckpv5 's HTC_044 Stock ICS nand
and i cannot find /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
according to ShadowCode@Gaming that file should be edited before flashing
is there any way to get is nand into flashable zip
or any other way to flash this TWRP nand????????
You can get the update-binary from any ROMs.
And you can script the updater-script manually.
( or just copy one from other DX ROMs )
Finally, zip it up to a flashable zip

The Nandroid backup should be placed at the folder clockworkmod/backup/backup name
or
TWRP/backups/numbers/backup name
on SD card or EMMC
And then go to recovery, you can restore it.

CWM:
Make sure you have the latest (CWM 6.0.2.7)
According to http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager, the latest CWM is 5.8..3.1 (see attached).
So is it OK to update to 6.0.2.7 for another device? Each 6.0.2.7 has a different name for each device.
I used 5.8.3.1, and it all went well except for copying files using wireless from a NAS box to the Galaxy Tab is now unusably slow.
Thank you

6.0.2.7 downloaded from DB is the good one. Workig fine for me and needed to be used for device with more than one profile
Thanks for the answer.
On the Droid Basement site it says...
Recovery:
Built recovery (in the folder) is CWM 6.0.2.7.
So in what folder do they mean?
I looked in P4WIFI: http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10.1/p4wifi and couldn't find it.
TIA
Just grab TWRP from the first post on this thread. I prefer TWRP over CWM any day and it flashed the CM 10.1 with no issues.

The file you need is the "recovery.tar.md5" which would be flashed with Odin, if I'm not mistaken.

After installing TWRP and doing a clean install, the problem with the streaming media from the NAS was resolved.
Thus many thanks to d3athsd00r.
I used Odin to flash recovery.tar.md5, but the old CWM still seemed to be there so I flagged that method.
TWRP just seems to work.

all that wont help. you have two options
1. Flash the system.img from stock
2. Use Auto Font Unbricker (google it)
Before I installed TWRP, I extracted the stock recovery in case anyone needed it for some reason. The zip file contains the recovery.img file and instructions.

Well you can get it easily if you have a vzw kdz then use the kdz/tot extractor in the dev section and convert the recovery.bin to recovery.img using an app like magiciso

Well the way the op recommends it is:
1 - Copy recovery.img to root of SDCard
2 - Open Terminal Emulator (or adb shell) with root and run the following command-
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
3 - Reboot
But I don't know if that would work in all cases/haven't tried, the other way to flash it is by getting into fastboot mode via adb or something and using following commands:
-fastboot erase recovery
-fastboot flash recovery recovery.omg

Is this OK for 4.4.2 20c FW? I see the original post is from last year. Just don't want to brick my newly bought phone. I just did root and install TWRP recovery. Now I see there is a 20u update and read that upgrading will result in bootloop. I wanna get back to stock recovery so I can safely upgrade

Did you manage to do it?
I needed to update too, similar thought process. Wondering whether i can flash this *.img using Flashify. I also made a backup of my stock recovery.img before I installed TWRP, could that be used either?
And most importantly, was the OTA update smooth after you got stock recovery back?
Worst case scenario, no TWRP recovery & unable to boot...

Backed up my sdcard and all data to the computer, ready to flash!
Waiting for a flashable CWM zip file also perhaps rooted would be nice. Backing all up now and waiting...
Found this on another forum;
Edit: people are saying there are problems with play services on that, might want to wait.
