The phone is mint . I have it rooted with CleanROM 3.0
The battery is horrid.
I had a GS4 and that lasted me through the night and used it way more.
Its barely 4 and its about to die. Not to mention I had battery saver all day.

lol please install Gsam battery monitor, and betterbatterystats, and post screenshots so we can get more info. Also, you did wipe before installing this ROM, and have calibrated the battery recently, yes? also, its something in rom or apps, my One lasts all day. worst comes to worse just switch to a new ROM.

Anyone else having this kind of battery drain?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I'm not sure if that's really that unexpected.
It shows the battery going down, yes, but it also shows the phone was awake and the screen on almost that entire time.
If I played a game on mine, with the screen on the entire time, my battery would go down quickly as well.
Looks like you are streaming music, so yeah, perfectly normal

If that's all you were doing, then you've got some app keeping your phone awake and the screen on.
Fresh install though of vipers 1.2 Rom as apps did not have a chance to install yet from back up. Anyone know if the lte will drain the battery even quicker or is it the same as the 3g since its now integrated?

I still think it's because the screen was on that entire time. Check to see if you have it set to auto brightness.
As far as lte/cdma setting, I have not seen any difference in battery life when leaving lte on.
Yea I had auto brightness on was that the cause of it?

Download badass battery monitor, it will tell you what is using battery. I had a problem with wakelocks from mediaserver, killed some photo and music syncing services and battery life improved substantially.

we all know that the battery life is crap on the amaze. It's no surprise. What I've been wondering since is why? why is it such a battery hog. In terms of CPU and ram, it's only slightly higher than the sensation and the sensation has a great battery life. I know the sensation and Amaze are completely different phones and hardware is completely different, but what makes the amaze have such a bad battery life? anyone ever able to figure this out?

Might be the kernel, extra horsepower, less optimizations than the sensation?
I always assumed it was the absolutely stunning screen that did it.

It's the display, it uses too much power and heats up too quickly, which uses more energy than it should, that's just imo though.

The display for sure since we're rockin' that qHD, now had it been a Super Amoled - it'll make a big difference in terms of power usage. I've set my display to the lowest (helps out battery drainage most of the time) and i've also downloaded JuiceDefender (works great).

with the emerging on aosp roms, we can tweak the voltage that certain parts of hardware get. you never know, this phone might have had a code problem like the gs3 where they accidentally set the voltage too high and the phones battery died like crazy

So I've been struggling with battery life on this rezound since I purchased it. It does get hot every now and then sometimes for no reason. I was waiting for aosp to come along to determine if it was just sense or the phone itself but since its not fully operational and makes my rezound hot as hell, I've stuck with sense roms for my day to day. The following screen shots are venom Rom desensed by me, including no weather, or facebook. The only thing syncing manually is gmail. That's it. No gaming here either. Downloaded a 7mb song, listened to mp3s with headphones and cruised the web a bunch.

That's about what I had using viperrez, although it seems your phone is discharging quickly when screen is off. I'd recommend under clocking when screen off to about 500mhz that works for me. Doesn't help with the screen on time though

1.) sense 4 is a MAJOR battery hog. id advise not to use ut unless your showing off
2.) i usually get 2hrs screen on, so id say NOT defective
3.) if you want like an extra 30-60 mins, try aosp. its fast and good on battery
hope this helps
Thanks for the replies guys I appreciate it. I did forget to mention something though... This is with the extended battery I know 2 hours would be about right on standard but I would think the extended should yield more no?

Most likely yes, isn't the extended battery 1.5x? Either way, battery consumption is hard to perfect. Like I said maybe underclock or find a battery saving build. Prop script to try I know system tuner pro has one built in.

Try Greenify. Basically the same thing but you can put any app into hibernation. I've noticed a huge increase in battery in just 24 hours as it seems apps like Maps and YouTube are constantly running in the background. Android System under battery usage is very minimal with Greenify disabling apps. Will shut off the background processes of your choice a little after you turn the screen off.

Don't take it as personal criticism. We're very appreciative of you sharing with us your battery experience, and we hope you continue to do so over the next little while to see how it settles in. It's just that in my opinion this isn't a good start. Watching YouTube is actual less battery intensive than texting or other things where you're actually touching the screen. Keep posting your battery stats. It's very helpful.

Do you have evidence of your claim that texting and touching the screen uses more battery then streaming video? Don't take it as personal criticism, but I think you made that up. I get 4+ hours of screen on time on my Nexus 4 browsing, texting and emailing. If I stream Netflix I get 2 hours before the phone dies.
