They are not the same phone. Do another search for each and compare the specs.

No, if you look up the T-Mobile Vibrant, that is the Galaxy S phone that T-Mobile first received. The Galaxy S 4G, is an updated version, with a front facing camera, and 4G capabilities. There is not much else different.
This is nothing related to the Galaxy S 2, and this phone hasn't been announced on any US carriers yet.
When the Galaxy S II hits the U.S. what carrier will get it??

Looks like it's headed to T-Mobile according to Adobe's website (http://www.adobe.com/special/futureofdigital/?sdid=IJQLW).

Remember the Samsung Galaxy phone? Remember how att tmo vzw and sprint got it?
Yeah, more of the same. Just wait a bit.

i read in the article above that it seems that both att and sprint will have a similar lte network
any hopes of me just popping a sprint sim to my att note for some truly unlimited data sweetness?

sprint no has sim no more

Sprint will have sim cards for LTE. Still, this isn't likely. Even if it did work, a you would have is data. Your note cannot use Sprint's voice network.

wishfull thinking then...ah hoped someone comes up.with something like they did with tmo modems

Samsung SCH-i889 Galaxy Note
FYI; The recently released Chinese version [Samsung SCH-i889 Galaxy Note] is CDMA, band compatible with Sprint/Verizon, as well as GSM.

Neither the i717 or N7000 models are CDMA band capable.
Note; Even if for some hypothetical reason they were LTE compatible and Sprint had a SIM, you would never get Voice/text.
I am interested to know if samsung galaxy s3 will be compatible with 4g in the UK on the 3 network.

No it won't. The current S3 does not have the hardware required for 4G. A new version that does support 4G will be released soon.
If you have the gt-i9300 which you probably do......you are out of sheer luck like us all !!!!! Grrrrr......
Three UK wont have any 4G infrastructure for a while anyway.

Its my own "security" that I have to worry about, none of Verizon's business honestly what apps I use or services.

This. They still claim it's a security issue so the fcc/etc doesn't crawl down their throats.

And as a side note Isis won't work on a rooted phone.

I am willing to wager that the same method I used on my S III and Note II to get it working will be coming to the S IV.
It works with no workaround on my One because of good guy Sprint. I just wish their coverage wasn't so crap.

Anyone yet? Just rooted and looking to get this working to. So annoying VZ
I know on other models of the phones you could get around the initial setup of the application by changing the build.prop to the verizion galaxy nexus. Then one the app was installed and setup you could revert the build.prop change so you would get normal suggestions for compatible apps on the play store.
Not sure if this works on the GS4 but it has on other NFC enabled Verizon phones.

I think now you can used the xposed framework to work around it without having to mod your build.prop.
