I dont know if anyone else has had success, but I am proud of my achievements and I wanted somewhere to post them. Ha. I have successfully rooted my L9 and installed Ubuntu Linux 12.04!!!!!! Any other successes?

Yeah, you can search for it where you downloaded the android sdk, they have a base script there. Also, there is a thread on XDA about it telling you everything you need to know. I think it's in the G1 forum, I'll update this with the link when I find it.

You can't build from source on windows, you need linux. There are guides all over. Good luck

Ive had hell of a time getting it to work with fedora linux i was wondering what version of ubuntu would be the most compatible with building a ICS rom.

Hi everyone i want to run my device as an emulator for app development.. Im on Ubuntu 12.04
..so the problem is i can't list my device in adb it shows
??????? No permissions...
Things i already did
Created /51–android.rules file
I couldn't find my vendor on google dev site so i copied vendor id by listing all usb devices attached to my computer.. But even that didn't work.. Please help

Ummm don't know your device but I would add all the vendors from the dev site and if that won't work I'd Google your devices maker and see if anyone has ever accomplished it

on linux you should run adb as root then it would work , if using eclipse , run it using root user .. and it would also detect phone then..
