Red Accent fell off - HTC Droid DNA

Have any of you guys seen a site where i can buy new red "stickers" to go down the side of the dna? I dropped my phone down into my sleeper sofa and the rails for the mattress inside cut the sticker in half. Now i have one black side and one red side.... which is only cosmetic but it bothers me lol.

the red on the sides of mine looks like painted speaker grill. I Dont think its a sticker, but painted metal. Unless the newer models have stickers on them instead.

I recently brought this because my camera lens was cracked. And yes the red side are only a sticker. It was a ***** to pop the back off with the popper tool but besides that its a perfect fit.
His: HTC DNA
Hers: LG Optimus G

Anodized Back Door

Anyone know if there is an anodized back door to replace the plastic one? I think a full anodized body would look sweet on the evo!
Sent from my EVOLTE
dont think there is one as the antenna is attached to the back of that plastic door.
I think I read somewhere the reason its plastic is because the metal interfered with the nfc.

I would imagine so, as plastic allows the signal to transfer through much much better than metal/aluminum!! I know from experience as I had the Asus Prime(TF201), before upgrading to the Asus Infinity(TF700T) which has a plastic section on the top/back of the body. The Prime did not and suffered from poor Wifi, Bluetooth, and GPS performance. GPS is so bad that Asus sent out a free GPS dongle to all Prime owners who wanted one. The Infinity is amazing and gets great signal thanks to the plastic strip integrated in to the body.

In addition to what has already been said, our device isn't as popular as we'd like it to be so there's very little in the way of customized aftermarket parts. It's sad really, as it's nigh impossible to even find a plastic door with a different color.

Just thought of this, too: our battery door isn't just a piece of plastic. It also contains antenna strips necessary for our phones to work properly, so it's not as simple as just making molds of the part.

Only the EVO, all of the other HTC 2012 devices with NFC do not have any removable parts or doors. It is however located in the same area.
Actually all the antennas are under that plastic panel IIRC. So using metal isn't really a good idea. People already complain about poor signal using metal for the panel will have even more folks whining.

Safe to do as long as you can seal the inside. Those antenna strips have to be left dry.

Get the Ghost Armor Matte full body protection. I absolutely hated the fact that the back of the phone was shiny (gloss) and the other half of the back was not. So I got the matte protection and its all one flat black matte. Got that on day 1...

Check out this case... REPOST sorry! ;)

I don't know if any of you have seen this case but I just ordered one in red & black for my "upcoming" DNA... Of course they are from China but I can wait! What do you guys think? Would you rock one of these cases?

Yes, this case has been discussed before. I have a red for my wife and the gray for myself. I got it when it first came out and were $16 each.

Sorry... I didn't see it but I am new to the DNA so I guess I should have looked harder! Do you like them?
I have the black version of this case, only thing I don't like is it being too tight.:what: and volume keys are a pain to press. But it smells like real leather... And looks beautiful. Much better than the Samsung flip covers. As an extra comes with a nice screen protector as well.
If your on the fence on getting it.... Don't wait any longer and buy it, you will like it!!!

Black HTC One quality issues?

I thought there was a thread on this but I haven't been able to find it. I was wondering if the black Htc one has the same gap gate issues as the silvers ones have had? I am getting a black one tonight and was just wondering what to expect. That ks guys.

Same for me, although the beats logo is already half rubbed off, and the very edge right in the middle if the side bezel has some slight wear (shows silver through it) which is likely where I grip the phone. Obviously I don't use a case so YMMV.

Put me down for being a happy black owner as well. Flawless, first thing i checked was gaps in the store and didn't spot any, came home ran the pixel test and not a single dead pixel. Whats most impressing is the finish, its almost scratch proof been without a case for a lil over a week and holding up real well.
Dropped my black in the sand face down and now have 2 tiny tiny silver dots by my front facing cam. This thing is so delicate. My Dbrands skin can't get here fast enough.

White back housing?

Do any of you know if this will work on the DNA? It looks right and it says DNA.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Housing-Battery-back-Cover-Bezel-Frame-For-HTC-Droid-DNA-X920e-Butterfly-/261257159299?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=560216300707&hash=item3cd423e283
I wouldn't get it. It says it's for the DNA or the Butterfly, which aren't backwards compatible. They're slightly different sized and constructions. No telling which it actually works with without purchasing.

Hi.
x920e parts should be interchangeable with the DNA. If you get the battery back for a x920e, it won't have wireless charging.
All together there are four variants of the HTC Butterfly.
Hi,
All together there are four variants of the HTC Butterfly.
HTC J Butterfly (HTL21) 143 x 71 x 9.2 mm
HTC Butterfly (X920d) 143 x 70.5 x 9.08 mm
HTC Droid DNA 141 x 70.5 x 9.73 mm
HTC Butterfly (X920e) 141mm(L) x 70.5mm(W) x 9.08mm(T)
The Glass should be inter change able between x920e & DROID DNA both at 141 mm tall and the HTL21 & X920d both at 143 mm tall.
A great article comparing the four different versions, with lots of pictures of all four side by side at Engadget.
I ordered a White with Red buttons X920e Glass/Digitizer/LCD for my Verizon branded DROID DNA by HTC and it fit perfectly.

It's simple to replace the back right? Just use a tool to pry it off and put the new one on?
Simple sure. Slowly. Carefully. When I did mine I pried a bit too hard and have a small stress crack by the USB charge port. While that is the recommended point of entry, I ended up getting under the volume rocker better. Be careful. Go slow. There is a gasket type seal you may want to try to keep and reuse if a new back does not come with one. Another thing I did not read else where is there is some adheasive seal around the speaker.
Be careful. Go slow. Mind the stress on the USB cut out, the volume rocker, and the speaker area.

Here are some pictures of my DROID DNA with a Butterfly x920e glass white with red soft keys. And of the stress crack on the back cover by the USB port where I pried too hard.
The height and width are the same on these models. While I don't know for sure for sure if the back fits it should, the back should be about half a mm more because of the QI charging. Now that I successfully swapped my screen I want a white back to !

I'm pretty sure that the slit to the right of the logo is for both the Proximity sensor and the Ambient light sensor. I never saw it with the original font , though I never took pictures of it. It only shows on pictures as pink or purple or in complete darkens it glows slightly red.

How is the quality of the lcd panel?
The LCD panel isn't changed. It's the digitizer that is fused to the glass.
Have you noticed any issues with it? It is just as accurate as the original? I see eBay listings for replacement glass (I kinda like the black with no Verizon logo and red buttons) for as little as $23 to as high as over $100 and both listings provide the same level of details and look identical. Even the one with the HTC logo isn't an actual HTC OEM panel (the listing says "origina!" not "original").

Yes it is, I replaced the LCD/Digitizer/Glass as one part because I read about low sucess rates seperating the LCD from the glass/digitizer. No issues with the product replacement. I should have gotten an adhesive surround thing or something, as I re used the one that was there, that is not as sticky as it was before and the one corner of the adheasive gasket is not smooth. For the first few days the one corner stuck our about .5mm but after being in my pocket with pressure on the glass to the housing its better. Just the Glass& Digitizer should be in the twenty something dollar range. Just the LCD should be around sixty. Together as one part, I see now from 75-125.

No, that listing is the wrong thing for our DNAs. The listing even has errors. It says the x920e in the listing but it can not be. That listing is for a back cover with an SD card. The x920d and the HTL21 have SD cards and a larger cur out on the top of the back cover. The x920e and the DNA have no cut outs are are a couple mms shorter than the other two.
I am going to order this Battery door tomorrow when I get paid.

I see. So for about $120 you can get the white back and the white front, and have a sweet white with red accents DNA! Someone do this. I want to see pics! Damn, when I dropped my DNA last winter I had to pay $100 insurance to replace the phone. I totally would have spent the extra few bucks and tricked out my phone to be white!

Camera lens is supposed to be scratch resistant sapphire. check out this video

Even with a brand new phone, i noticed tiny scratches ( you have to use a magnifying glass or slowly rotate it in the right light to see)
and phone has been no where near the insides of any pocket or un raised over any surface with my case. it hasn't seen a single touch or wipe.
some have called them surface stress scratches due to manufacturing.

Funny you mention it, my buddies camera was terrible, looked foggy and blurry...his lens is scratched really really badly. My camera works great, but when I looked it was also really badly scratched, we both use the same case too. It sucks that it picks up scratches so easily.

My verizon one looks like crap. Looks cloudy due to abrasions. I am really good about not putting the phone in my pocket with keys and stuff. I don 't know but when I look in the light I see a worn looking spot that does not look right... like abrasion wear or something. I think it affects my picture quality. Don't think pictures are properly focused because of it.
