Hi I just switched from my sprint note 2 and I've noticed that this device lacks a wifi toggle instead showing an annoying bar notification. Is there any way to get a real toggle up there in my stock rooted rom?

However, both of these methods require root.

Hey guys, just a quick note / question: I updated my stock Thunderbolt with the OTA ICS upgrade. I am now no longer able to get to the "Testing" menu (with the 3G/4G toggle switch, for example) by dialing *#*#4636#*#*.
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, is there a workaround?
Thanks!

This should be what you're looking for.
I am looking for the system.db on my droid dna . I cannot seem to locate it. I am trying to edit this to remove the pesky WiFi notification. And yes I am rooted. Any help would be appreciated.

Um that's not what you edit to remove the wifi notification. And most custom roms that you download have the wifi notification removed already.
Go to settings>wifi turn off auto turn on , and click don't notify and you shouldn't see it anymore.
I don't believe we are talking about the same thing. I want to remove the nag from when you click the WiFi widget to turn it on instead of it opening up the screen to click the switch on.

So you want a wifi toggle switch? One that turns it on and off without the settings interface?
I just want to use the default widget which matches the other stock widgets without downloading a widget add on and yes.

Im new to verizon and the s4, just switched from Sprint note 2. I've looked at the icon glossary and the tiny manuals that come with the phone and I haven't found what this icon is nor a way to turn it off any help? It's a rombus with a cross through it next to the Wi-Fi symbol

More specifically, the E911 location icon. While you can't disable E911 location, you can disable the icon either by flashing a custom ROM or flashing a mod to hide the icon (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41976357)

Negative. It is not the gps reticle. As stated above, it is the E911 icon.

Sorry about the misinformation.
I really hate it when someone does that, or puts something up that doesn't help the person with the problem. You can look at a post I made and see the very non helpful answer I got from some joker.

I rooted my OTA VRUAME7 Verizon S4 but can't seem to get wifi tether to work. I've tried both of the newest Wifi Tether for Root (3.3 beta 2 and 3.4 experimental 1). Changing the device-profile to S4 doesn't help. It will start up and say "started with errors." Checking the log results in a "no log file" error.
I also hunted around with SQLite Editor trying to find an entitlement check, and came up empty (to use the built-in mobile hotspot).
Has anyone successfully figured out how to WiFi Tether on a rooted OTA VRUAME7?
Thanks in advance! :good: :good:
To add the hotspot toggle:
Download app => Click Me
Got to => Settings storage
Click => settings.db
Click => system
Search for "notification"
Highlight => notification_panel_active_app_list
Click the edit "pencil"
In the "value" section add "WiFiHotspot;" anywhere you like...
Restart phone
Note: Make sure your list ends with a semi-colon
If you see the warning screen, just hit home.

I'm not referring to a toggle. I'm referring to successfully sharing my 4g with another device using wifi tethering.

I've heard that most of those apps work. You just open the app then hit the home button. Voila! Lol

That's what this mod does...adding the toggle enables the hotspot. Just hit home if you see the Verizon warning to bypass it. Works, just used it on my S4.

Could it be any easier? So the only danger here is exceeding your data limit?

OP please read
Probably floating around out there, but is there a usable zip to flash or mod to remove the wifi notification from the notification pull down, and that annoying GPS reticle? All the files I'm finding have broken links or are no longer there. Or an xposed module that I possibly haven't found yet.

This mod should work for you. Just flash in TWRP or CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010278
If for some reason it doesn't work, read through the forum (it's only 7 pages or so), there are other options briefly discussed. This will only solve the wifi notification, but you may be able to do a little of what's discussed in that forum to handle to gps reticle as well. I'm not sure about the latter.
