Have you tried to download any app from Google play after that procedure? Works your Google Sync after that procedure?
This is an absolutely terrible idea for several reasons:
1. Clearing data on GFS completely destroys push notifications on your phone. Any app that uses push notifications will need to have its data cleared and be set up again from scratch before you get any more notifications from the app.
2. This can play hell with the Play Store, specifically with paid apps.
3. Google Services Framework basically contains the unique ID that your device uses to communicate with all Google services (be it push notifications, Gmail, Google Play, etc.). If you clear the data, it's like doing a factory reset on your phone as far as Google is concerned.
Just be patient and wait for the OTA update or flash it manually.

Agree 100%.
Well if someone do that procedure and experience ptoblems with Play or Sync try deleting your Google account in Sync Settings an entering it sgain. It usually works...

Yeah, everything works like a charm - notifications, Google Play or whatsoever
But sincerly - I'm not an expert so do it on your own risk (not that I experienced any problems).
maybe if the procedure is followed by a system update, then there is no issue?

Don't see why this would be a problem if your only objective is to obtain the update. Then, you do a factory data reset, re-entering your account and re-installing all your apps.
Which seems like the better way to do any update anyway as I never feel comfortable just installing the new version over the old version. A complete restore/reinstall of the new image once you've managed to get the OTA seems like the best bet.
I have always had best success obtaining fast OTA by first restoring to factory state then repeating Clear Google Services Framework over and over and then allowing the OTA to install. Then I do a second restore to factory just to be safe and then restore account and re-install apps.

Not true. I did this procedure last night, got the update as a result and then just removed and readded my Google account.
It worked like a charm and I am getting all my push notifications from G-Mail, Google Play etc.

Yeah, you received the push notifications from google apps because you refreshed the google account.
The problem came from the push notifications from non goggle apps. I.E. Tapatalk will not notify anything, or avast anti thief will not obey remote commands... Tipical things that you discover when you need it.

I did this for the 4.2.2 update and it didn't effect anything with regard to push notifications. My tablet updated itself, and worked exactly as it always had, all apps, no difference. My phone is completely unadulterated, and they both get push notifications within seconds of each other, from all apps be it tapatalk or viber or ebay etc.

Personally I disagree with you. This is not a terrible idea at all and has been used by tons of people for awhile now. I did it on my N4 and will do it on my N10 later.
Truth is this is an easy way to get the ota and anyone reading this shouldn't shy away from doing so because of misinformation as long as they understand what it takes to fix things

To remove account:
- Settings.
- Account (Google)
- Select your account ([email protected])
- Push the three dots at upper right.
- Select "Remove account".
To reenter account:
- Settings.
- Account (Add account).
It will fix Google app problems but the rest of app that uses push notifications and are broken needs to be fixed individually (clearing data or reinstalling and setting them up again).
Good luck!
Frankly, I prefer having patience. There's nothing in 4.3 compelling enough to waste any time jumping through even the smallest of hoops.
I deleted my account and reactivated. Everything is ok now and thank you for ya help!

I lost patience last night. Not the preferred manner, but the six rapid clear data/force stop maneuvers in the Google Services settings, followed by the delete/re-add Google account business, then a reboot for good measure, and everything is good to go, without problems.
Make sure reboot some of the apps with notifications .it messed up some of mine.

Just over the past 2-3 days, the Market does not display anything under "My Apps". Proper Google account is displayed, cleared Market app cache/data, tried other versions of the Market app. Even tried an sbf and setting up my account again. Nothing seems to work. Yet all my apps are properly associated with my Google account on the web and can be pushed to the phone from there.
Prob doesn't seem to be ROM related. Also happens on stock GB 2.3.4. Anyone else currently seeing this, or seen it in the past?
I've seen it when restoring with tibu. I just market update all my apps after restoring and they show up.

Nope, that wasn't it. Went to TBU and scanned for broken links - only found a few and updated them. Then marked all apps for auto-update to see if that makes a diff. Checked the Market app, killed market cache/data and checked again. Nothing.
Yet if if inquire about the Market status of any app from within TBU, it shows the link is active. I can view any app in the Market from TBU (or the Market app) and the Market shows "installed". Yet none will show up on my "My Apps" page. Very strange.
By coincidence I came across an item in one of the blogs I follow that said that this could happen if you have more than one gmail account; somehow the apps get linked to the other gmail account, rather than the one you're using currently. If this is the case sign on into the other account and then go to the market again and see if your apps show up.
I do have two Google accounts but only one on my phone. All my apps seem to be assigned to this account - just not showing up on the "My Apps" screen. I did sign in with the other account on the web and it showed only a few system apps (Gmail, Maps, Google Books, Google Search, etc.), which would be as expected.

Can you please tell me exactly what you mean by... "sign on into the other account"? At one point I DID get a message pop up on the app that said something like "Please sign into your Google Account". Not sure how it wanted me to do that ...other than to simply check the right account box within the Market app settings. And since I only have the one Google account on my phone, it was already checked. Am I missing something there?
Is this issue persisting for you still? I am not experiencing it but can verify the cant buy a paid app for some reason on my current rom. But when i go to myapps it lists them all.
Coincidentally, I think it's two seperate issues. I think the "not being able to buy apps" is ROM related, and works OK on MGF .7a. However, this new problem started up after that, and it appears that not too many folks suffer from it. I may have brought it on myself by swtiching arround Market apps trying to resolve the first issue.
I also believe this other app list problem may be on the Market server end. I saw two itemized "known problems" on the Market support site. No one else has reported not seeing ANY apps on the list, but some folks have missing apps. Another "known problem" that appears to be widely spread is that on the web view, no apps at all show up on page 11 and above in the apps library. I have that problem also. I sent Market tech suport an email. Don't know if they will give me more useful information or not.
Update.... Two days later, still having this problem, despite an spf back to stock. But so are a lot of other people apparently. Here is a long thred on DroidForums.net about this very issue.
Anyone else here experiencing this Market problem?
I'm having the same problem!
And I have done it all! Sbf and all!

Hi Robert,
Thanks for writing in.
Has your device been rooted, or have any custom ROMs been installed on your device? I can troubleshoot your issue to the best of my abilities, but please be aware that rooted devices and unauthorized operating systems (custom ROMs) may have limited functionality due to the compatibility of the device. For best results, I recommend using the authorized Android operating system provided by your manufacturer that can be obtained from their website or your carrier.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

We need some devs to figure this out. Either verizon or google is blocking this. On a funny note, this only effects my rooted droid x, not my galaxy tab or my droid charge!
Devs please help!
Its a known issue with Google.

I'm on this newest market version. Am rooted. Running liberty now. Also ran eclipse w/ this market. I have no problems viewing My Apps.
And Google already has been doing root checks before this version. At least with the movies. U can't watch movies u rented on a rooted device ..it tells u that straight up when u try that its not allowed because u are rooted. (But there is a Google videos apk with a workaround to that. Couple things u can do to watch...just Google it)
So u might want to look into other fixes...
dunno if I've tried clearing.ur Google backup data by.disabling the setting in.privacy. maybe something backed up there is messing wit ur account
I've been having this problem as well for a couple weeks (currently rooted droidx with liberty 3). What do you mean by clearing the google backup data, ashclepdia?

Not sure of the regular x has this feature (I assume it should)
Located under settings>privacy>backup personal /user data(such as apps wifi passwords and browser bookmarks ) to google servers.
it backs up certain data you wouldn't expect(such as wallpaper used and others)
Im not certain of any way to clear it. I know when u uncheck it supposed to clear the data from goggle servers.(but I would want to just be safe and reboot. Factory reset. Then check the box again so that the data that is backed up at that point isfrom freshly wiped phone and whatever u add after.)
Now its just a thought. I haven't had the.problem u all seem to be having. Either on market 3.1.5 or 3.3.11(currently what I use)
So if u don't mind going through setting up again then see if that works.
Also. Is everyone with this problem using multiple gmail accounts?
i am missing all my apps also. weird thing is that my market is fine when running eclipse 2.
---------- Post added at 04:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:27 PM ----------

I've had the problem for about four months, but finally solved it. I bought a Galaxy Nexus.
After trying everything like you, including returning my X2 completly to "out-of-the-box" stock setup, I'm also convinced that it is a Google problem that is tied to individual user accounts and there is nothing that can be done locally on the phone. (After returning the phone to stock, I later did another factory reset and then loaded my wife's account on my phone. Market works fine.)
I really miss MotoBlur email, and the stock Vsuite app by Nuance, but I'm not looking back. Anyone like to buy a slightly used Droid X2, with tons of accessories?
Robin

I've been a victim of this bug for some time. I did try CM7 for a bit and noticed that my Market worked fine but when I flashed back to stock (2.3.4) this bug returned. For better or worse I reported this back to Google (as I have an open ticket) and this was the response I got:
Thanks for following up and for the additional information. We're not in need of any other troubleshooting of the issue at this time, as we've identified the cause, and are working on resolving it. I'll definitely keep you updated!

So hopefully, those of us on a stock-based build will see a resolution from Google soon.
I have the same problem on stock blur. I wonder if it had something to do with the market being older. You can update the market but not until you sign into your Google account under old market. I have thought of maybe setting up test account updating market then signing in with normal account to see if that helps but been on cm7 and haven't been stock for awhile. Maybe if moto ever updates to ics it will fix it

Is it just me or the Play Store doesnt show my purchased (but not installed) apps? It used to be on the bottom of the list. If I swipe right in my installed list I can view all but it also shows apps I've viewed or installed previous including free ones so its a very long list and is not categorized.
Is there anyway to get my paid uninstalled apps on the bottom again? I assume this is a google play bug
FIXED: Member mgf8384 sent me a PM and told me that he had the same issue and uninstalled google play updates and found an old Market app. Installed it and was able to see them again. He also mentioned he contacted google and they are aware of the issue.
So depending if you have custom rom that has current play store or not. In my case I'm using ZR3D 1.6 and after I uninstalled Google Play updates and reopened market, I was able to see them again. Thanks again to mgf8384 for pointing this out!

go into settings, applications, and google play store, force close it, clear data, go into accounts and sync and "sync now" your google account, then open play store again and they should be there
Go to play store, press Menu, press My apps, swipe right (to get to the All apps menu) and tana! All your apps: free and paid, installed and uninstalled.

i got the same prob now too.
getting this overview of all my purchased and installed apps was one of the main points why i bought apps.
if google eliminates this page, it also eliminates my motivation to buy apps too.
i uninstalled those play updates now too, and now i'm back to the old android market. the three categories "Updates", "Installed" and "Not Installed" are back, and i'm happy again..
i hope google will fix this, and not force us to use that new "my apps" page...

seems like i'm not going to buy any app again.. :/

That one I havent seen yet. Mine always shows as paid as long as I do "uninstall updates".
If you are in the "My Apps" page in the app, slide the page to the left and you will see "ALL" and there is a list of all of your apps that you ever installed, including the purchased one. I had this problem with my phone also. What i did was uninstalled updates which sent my phone back to the original market. this worked. When i flashed another custom ROM this problem happened again, so then i searched for a thread to download an older version of android market and then installed it. Before you continue any updates to the current version of play store, go to your purchased apps and redownload them. This is a bug on Googles side. I emailed them a couple weeks ago and they said they were aware and were working on it. Let me know if this helped at all.
This is what you do delete the updater APk using titanium. Back up .delete Google play now download. This market. And your all fixed repeat whenever's. Necessary .

What version of the play store are you running? Also, do you have the background restricted for the play store?
Try the newest Play Store if yours is not up to date. I remember the issue in my S4 and newest version solved it after wiping data and install update.

I have version 4.5.10. I'm not sure how to check for the background restriction.

May have slightly different way phone by phone. Also check the app under Data Usage for play store, see if background data restricted.

Ok I checked and background data is not restricted, and I have the latest play store version.
It is a issue @ Google, nothing you can do on your phone to fix it. Contact Google support. I have a support case there, and need more people to bug them, so they have to fix it.

Yes its the same account I've had going all the way back to the first Android phone. It has gotten better. I ODIn'ed back from a 4.4.2 ROM to a custom 4.3 ROM and my market works most of the time. When it starts actign up I usually have to clear data/wipe caches, restart and wait a bit for it to resync my account. Kind of a pain, but working most of the time is better than none of the time.

How are the Play store on the web working for you when signed in with the account you are having issues with. For me I have trouble loading in anything @all. Especially the top list, and my purchases.
I believe there are issues with older accounts that did not get updated/patched with new settings after ICS update, or the 3.0+ update of their store when it became Play Store and not Android market. When I use my other account all is ok, but there I have no purchased apps.
If you want you can find the 2.3.6 version of Market and replace the Play store and you will find that all issues are gone. Now I use Legazy Play store witch can be used together with normal play. Just need to push it to system/apps on 4.3 or system/priv-apps on 4.4.
Use all this advise at own risk.

Anyone have any luck with this/ age of Gmail accounts?
I just recently started having this issue on a stock GS4A on at&t. Maybe a week ago could not get updates and wrote it off as a busy server then realized this weekend I could not get anything new.
I tried every fix I could find on the forums and even a fix that the 2nd tier Google tech suggested (no different from the forum fixes other than including turning the automatic date/time on and off). Every method was a band-aid at best: one or two apps can come through before I get the 927 error or the DF-BPA-30 error. At least the error codes are consistent...
I honestly think this is related to the age of my account. I have had a Gmail account since 2007 or so when I believe it was still in beta. I am surmising that older accounts are on an older server or something that is having issues. I made two dummy accounts and could download anything I wanted, so there is nothing wrong with my handset or connections. The temporary work-around I am using is adding a secondary gmail account and adding any apps through it, while still using primary for mail, contacts, and calendar. I am not a heavy user, so it works, but I should not have to patch it together like this!
So- anyone who is getting this error; how long have you been a Google user? Anyone else tried "old vs new" for a cause of the error?
When I replied to the 2nd tier tech I told him his method did not work, but asked to look into the account itself. I'll update if I have anything to say.

Ask to get your case transferred to apps division. There I got real help. They are really good. And have helped me a lot.
There are two possible methods to solve error 927 on android:
Method 1:
Go to settings>>”All”>>Select “Google Play Store”
Now Force Stop>>Clear Data>>Clear Cache
Now again try downloading or updating the app
If the above didn’t work, go to settings>>”All”>>Select “Google Play Store”>>Uninstall Updates
Again, from “All”>> Select “Download Manager”>>Clear Data and Cache
Rerun Google Play Store and install/update your app or game
Method 2:
Go to system settings>> Accounts>>Google>>remove your Gmail account
Now from settings>>Apps>>All> Force stop, Clear data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager (like in method 1)
Now again go to settings>> Accounts>>Google>>Add your gmail account
Restart your android and then accept all the Google terms and setup Google settings
Rerun Google Play Store and update or install your app.
How to Fix Error 927 in Android
Free Some Space on your device
Clear data and cache files of Google Play Store
Stop or Uninstall Google Play Store (Updates)
Add New Gmail Account
Hope it helped you....
Try the methods below
Free some space on your device
Clear data and cache in Google Play Store
Add new Google account
Uninstall updates of Google Play store
It is the most annoying issue facing by many Android users, that occurs when you download or update any games and apps from the Google play store. But for me, this error solved by the just clear cache.
S Memo will let me create a text or drawing memo but as soon as I save it, it freezes up for a few seconds and then goes to a black screen where it says "Unfortunately, S Memo has stopped". S Health does basically the same thing. It lets you enter your age/height/weight/etc but then as soon as you hit start, it freezes, black screen, stopped message.

I thought it might have something to do with me disabling some of the bloatware in application settings, but I re-enabled everything and they still aren't working.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Working fine here, first time I've ever tracked my steps/food... neat stuff.
Hate to say it, but disabling some of the apps may not be necessary, and even restoring them can lead to issues like this You know what comes next.
I just did a factory data reset and the problem is still there. S Memo and S Health still don't work.
Oh well, time to set everything up on the phone how I want again.
That's strange. I opened S Health the other day and it required an update, not from the play store, but from the Samsung update app (?)... which doesn't appear to be a selectable application. Weird. I would say try dumping the cache and deleting all data for the app in case something remained on the SD/Internal Memory

I am, just after trying to save in S Memo or trying to launch S Health. S Health did initially open and let me enter my info but then stopped when hit continue.
I'm having a similar issue with S Health. Able to enter age/weight but after that, every attempt to open the app results in a force close. I've tried deleting all data which seems to fix the situation except when I input the information again, the problem recurs.
Deleting the data for S Health and S Memo doesn't do anything for me. S memo fails when trying to save and S Health fails after entering your initial info.
bump it =.=, same happened to me.

No luck in a chat session with Samsung. They had me boot into recovery and wipe cache, then tried booting into safe mode.
I'll give the 800 number a call tomorrow.

I resolved it two nights ago, but not sure what the problem was.
I broke down and did a factory reset since that would be the next step if I brought it back. The first reset, I walked through the setup wizard and entered in my account information. It proceeded to automatically download all my apps and the problem was still there. So I reset again and skipped through the setup wizard to prevent the apps from downloading, and lo and behold s memo and heath were working. For kicks I reset again and walked through the wizard; apps downloaded again and the problem came back. I proceeded to uninstall all apps and widgets but it didn't clear the problem. That sort of jives with the problem present when booting into safe mode.
I think that since I uninstalled the apps, I lost getting the apps to automatically download. So I manually tried installing them. The best list I had was the list from using helium to back up app data. I manually downloaded 44 of 46 apps in the list. The two I didn't were a chess game and I thought v cast song id. Although I don't see the later as a choice for restoring in helium tonight. It stood out when I saw it, because I couldn't find it in "my apps" on the play store or in the play store. I think it was a pre-loaded app on my previous Droid X phone. I just started using helium with the s4, so I went to bed trying to figure out how any sign of the app would be on the s4.
I don't think the helium list was everything on my phone so the next step is to load everything in "my apps" in the play store.

S health is now working for me but I haven't had a chance to play much with it. I initially used Kies to backup; but after taking 5 hours to restore, I learned the layout of apps and widgets on various pages is lost. Hence my switch to Helium.
Be mindful when removing bloat. S Memo requires the snote provider apk in system. S health requires sensor and health provider in system. Removing these necessary dependencies with make these apps force close.

Hello. I can't seem to be able to send or receive SMS messages after uninstalling Google play services through Universal Android Debloater. Everything works fine after i restore the said package. Tested it with the preinstalled Google messaging app (which would be expected to not work), AOSP Messaging and Simple SMS Messenger. Every app gives out the same result. I would really like to get rid of Gapps on my phone but i find SMS a pretty essential feature. If anybody has any idea what may be going on in this instance and has got any knowledge how to fix it please let me know. I like this phone and would rather not go back to the Samsung Galaxy s4 I've had before. Currently running stock Android 11 rom with build number of qssi-user 11 RKQ1.200903.002 v12.0.21.0.RFQMIXM. If you need me to add additional data please let me know. I'm not sure what else may be important.
I disable Google play Services all the time and it doesn't effect text messages. Obviously the app you're using is a dependency of Google play Services. Either use another text app or temporarily disable Goodle play Services (the better option as you retain complete control).

Thank you for responding. I too have always deleted the Google play services from stock roms and never flashed Gapps on custom ones and not once it did have an effect on ability to send or receive SMS. This time however things appear to be somehow different. Disabling the Play services works but isn't an option. the SMS works with it disabled but every app just yells at me to turn it back on. I have tried "AOSP Messaging" and "Simple SMS Messenger" and neither have worked with the package uninstalled. Do you have any messaging app you would recommend?

You can stop the screaming by disabling the notifications that are responsible. I kill Playstore with Package Disabler. I'm running Samsung's so I'm simply using the native Samsung message app. Works well for me.
You can try it, but it may have Samsung dependencies it needs or not. I'm running on Android 9, Android 11 and up might puke on it. Worth a shot...

Yes. Unfortunately Samsung messaging app must have some dependencies because it does crash every time. I used "Universal android debloater" to delete google play services from my Samsung note FE and it indeed didn't cause any problem on that phone (or any other). I can also add that "Signal" messaging app doesn't work after after uninstalling Play services. I really doubt its the messaging app's fault. Has to be something else.

It was worth a try. Samsung has its own ecosystem. Sammy has some cool apps which is one reason I run stock.
Some apps won't load without Google play Services. This is one reason why I don't permanently disable it... I hate it though as it consistently pulls the SOT down by 1-2%@hr just by running. Trashware. Gmail is a dependency of it. Playstore paid apps need it for intial activation but firewall blocking them lets them run normally after activation. It's quit the terror...

I've never used apps that require Google play services to run and most that says they do, doesn't need it in reality. That however is not the point. I am trying to figure out why the hell is SMS functionality tied up to some useless to my taste spying API. I know this smartphone runs android One which may have been a deal with the devil but there has to be a way for SMS messages to work without com.google.android.gms. It really shouldn't be a problem.

They all probably using the same source code that's dependent on GPS. Obviously there must be a some that aren't. Never had to go down that rabbit hole...
I use mostly older vetted apps because Playstore still keeps having rude surprises. A app may download clean only to try and update its payload latter. I firewall block anything that doesn't need access to run and monitor those that do. Had zero issues with malware for over 2 years in spite of still running on Pie. I don't push my luck.

I am pretty confident that the Messaging app itself is not the problem. All of the SMS Apps i have tested worked fine on phones I didn't even flashed Gapps on and had no trouble on the phones where Google services were deleted. I have tried to go back back to the Android 10 or Android 9 stock rom but the phone promptly hardbricks itself after trying so (Had to flash service rom through EDL). Right now i switched to my note 7 with the GSF deleted using the same method and I can send messages just fine, but I will try to find a solution for this problem. I can't stand google stopping me from using such important feature.

I can send SMS no problem even with Google play services disabled. That however i find a dirty fix. Using the "uninstall" option form UAD prevents loading GSF into memory and indirectly affects the apps to not scream at you with Google play services requests. What I will try however is straight up deleting the app using root. Will tell how it turned out.
