You would need, command and skills on coding, Ubuntu or any linux os, and a source.

I dont have any problem with CM. But I think that it is a little bit unstable. I don't know anything about android development, but at first I think that it works like windows or linux. You have OS and drivers and together it works well. Where is problem with build clean android rom + add drivers?

It's not exactly like you said. And for clean rom, its name is AOSP. And when our CM will be bugfree also an AOSP rom, or like you name it a clean rom, will be available.

great. So now I'm waiting for AOSP rom. Can I donate somebody for support in development?

AOSP= Android open source project.
Cyanogen= this is the developer team. This team create many good custom roms, and Cyanogen a nick name,I think so

It is based on the AOSP coding with ALOT of changes and alot of recoding. So while it is based on the source code it is not pure AOSP.
Now I get it. Thank you very much zelendel :victory:
do they accept AOSP based kernels??? IE: I have CM 12.1 and want to use a KT aosp 5.1... Is that the correct conversion?
Thanks

No they don't accept AOSP kernels. They are as far away from AOSP as any oem rom

No you cant. A pure AOSP rom doesnt have the theme engine and with the upcoming android version CM themes will no longer work due to RRO which is android own theming set up.

Will this affect us ??

I just saw this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41115145
Will this affect us who love the JB ROMs as there is no Kernel Source for JB yet from hTC
It will affect us if we post JB ROMs which are not based on stock kernel without releasing the source code. So I think we should show up in the thread there and start gathering devices which face the same or a similar problem, so we can form a greater community against those manufacturers.
Yes it will affect, basically according to it your JB ROM is against rules
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
What I understand is, if using the stock boot.img and there is no source code for it, we have to remove the boot.img from the ROM as every users supposed to have the stock boot.img in their device.
I have no problem to remove the boot.img but the problem is we have many noobs which are not so sure with all the workaround and how to get things done

I still can post the ROM but without the boot.img... so the ICS hboot users will have a hard time

:good::goodont worry, you can unpack the stock boot.img. Just make some harmless changes in ramdisk and repack it. Then share the modified ramdisk on github along with zImage.
PM me if you need help on this.
Regards
Yasir
P.S. I know its a workaround, so some xda recognized dev is welcome to correct me if what i said above is wrong.:good::good:
I found This:
zelendel says:
"This is not so. The kernel source HAS to be made available. If the OEM doesnt provide the kernel source then no rom for that device will be allowed. OEMs post the source code for their kernels. Well most do anyway, the ones that dont are in violation of the GPL laws.
What ever kernel is in the rom that is posted must have available kernel source. If roms are using the stock kernel and no sources are available then it will be removed. If it is using a custom kernel based on the clone source and a link to the source can be provided then that is fine. But the source MUST match the kernel in the rom."
So i guess, custom JB Rom by you is in danger of removal.

It is ok if I remove the kernel.
It just that I don't have much time to redo the ROM.
I'll try to find time to make init.d support without ramdisk mod and post updated ROM.
If I don't have enough time, I can only upload a new ROM after I come back from vacation in mid June

Could it be possible just to use kernel from kernel.org, config from ICS HTC and adjusting this config a bit so that it works or is the kernel from android too much different from the linux kernel?
So i unnecessarily try to use prebuilt 3.4 kernel for cm10.1 because if it will working, i won't be able to share it -.-

Your hard work is nonetheless appreciated, thank you for that and also your efforts towards organising the petition etc.
Ok, but if I'm not mistaken, as soon as HTC releases JB's kernel sources every ROM based on it will be "legal" or according to xda rules and not been removed right?
May be they're waiting for every country to get JB by OTA to release them (I believe only India doesn't have received it yet if I'm not mistaken).
By the way @atis112, did you get any answer from GPL?
Have you all a great day

Another point to note ... no recovery for JB ??

Slightly Newer Slimbean Build 4 YP-G70

I was sifting through some files on my player and I found a Slimbean build that's slightly newer than the one in the dev forum so I thought I'd post it here...
So here is Slimbean 4.2.2 build 8.1 for Player 5.0:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/24rAUJd-/Slim-422build81-UNOFFICIAL-201.html
Refer to http://slimroms.net/ for installation instructions and gapps..
It should work but, I built it back in August, and as far as I know it didn't have any issues beyond the normal 4.2.2 issues.
Also, if there is any interest, I could probably build a newer Slimbean. So if that's something that is wanted, post here...
Here's my vote
I would look forward to newer Slimbean Rom's, and would provide feedback about newer versions you may develop. I haven't tried the one you posted, but if it would be helpful to you, I surely will. Thanks for your efforts here !!

Nah, I just put it up in case anyone wanted it. If there is more interest in Slimbean, I'll do some builds but, if nobody wants it then I'm not going to bother.
i'd love to see new slimbean for 5.0.
I noticed that the 4.0 already has kitkat, should we expect to get kitkat to 5.0 shortly?

I've looked into it a little and from what I can tell, making MIUI is very different then building android. It seems like it's kinda patched together using reverse engineered smali code.

Lack of knowledge can be resolved by "reading", "learning", "comprehending", and "asking"
Lack of experience can be resolved by "trying","failing","retrying", and eventually "succeeding"
Lack of time can be resolved by "making time" or "taking time"
Just sayin'
Took a little doing but got a working slimbean 4.3 released here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47842886
Gapps question
Thanks so much for bringing Slimbean 4.3 to our device !! Slimbean is my daily driver, and it's great to see development for our device continue.
Apologies in advance for my ignorance: Which is the correct gapps category/file to use for this ROM and our device? Would it be i9100? or Crespo? or ??? I'm clueless...

[Q] help in building my first rom

Hi everyone, i'm trying to build my first rom. I followed the building guide from xda-university. I want to build AOSP lollipop from source(no cm) for Huawei G630. I searched a lot on the forum and google but i cannot find the proper information. I synced the AOSP repo. But i need help with the device tree. There is none available out there as there is no AOSP-based rom available for it. So i am supposed to create the device tree by myself right? How do i do that?(or maybe...is it to difficult to do for a beginner like me? ) Any help is really appreciated.
Thanks!!
Or at least could someome point me to a forum where i can get help?
Thanks

But as i said, my device has no aosp rom available for it, hence I have to build aosp "from scrstch" (not based on another aosp rom). I can't find any information on how to do this.
Any idea on how to build an aosp rom for a new device?

Most stable MM ROM?

Hey,
I've been using CM's Nightly 6.0 ROM [11/26] for the past 24hrs and it's OK, most things work properly, although flashing SuperSU gets me bootlooped and I cannot gain root access in any other way (Dev options etc).
So I've been wondering, for those of you who are using a Marshmallow ROM on your OPO,which one are you using and how stable is it?

Latest official cm13 nightly, most stable so far.
There is root, it works fine.
Ask that in Android General or somewhere..this is for deveolpment i believe....but try VM13 its the best 6.0 IMO
Broken Os is flawless. Can't be found on XDA though. Over on Google +.
I like darkobas as a rom and you need to also go on google plus as no xda

As already pointed out, this is a development forum, not a Q&A forum. Feel free to flash as many ROM's as you'd like until you find the one that best suits your needs.
