I have an LG P769 software version 20f (OTA) build JZO54K that I would love to put Cyanogen on. I have it on my p509 and I love it. My understanding is that I need to unlock the bootloader, flash a proper recovery image and then flash over the Cyanogen Rom. I did my P509 so I'm not a complete noob at this, it's been working just fine for almost 2 years however I've searched every where and I have a few questions.
Is it possible to unlock a stock 20f P769? (purchased the phone a week ago, updated it yesterday and it's 20f now. No idea what it was before that but it was brand new from Tmobile)
If it is, how do I do and what do I need?
Is Cyanogen 10.1 the newest of the Cyanogen ROMs I can use?
If I do successfully unlock it I can follow the CM 10.1 guide to get the rom and all that on there really I'm stuck now at Unlocking it. I tried the method in the now locked thread (before realizing people had found out it doesn't work)
Thanks in advance for any help, like I said I've looked in dozens of threads and can't seem to find a clear answer on the matter.
Have you looked here?

that link will give you all you need to know to be 100% stock again. it's for all variants of the HTC One (save for the Sprint and maybe Verizon versions, i think)
follow the directions to the letter and carefully, and it should be relatively easy! good luck
There are at least 10 threads dealing with the exact same question. Read up man.

Hello there, how are you?
My problem is, I received an Y300 as a gift, haven't yet received it but I want to prepare the necessary things to root it and install custom roms on it. No, this isn't the first phone I install a custom rom to, as I have already played with an Optimus L5 of a friend. Could you please answer this questions?
a) How do I root the phone and install CWM or other recovery? I have found many tutorials but they are confusing, and require waiting for 2-3 days for the code to unlock the bootloader. In case you need to know, it probably is the normal Y300, the international one, so no Asian Model
b) How many ROMS are there for this phone? I like Cyanogenmod and stock roms the most, I can barely stand the stock rom in the phone, so I would like to install a new ROM on it ASAP.
c) By flashing the new ROM, do I lose IMEI or something like that (EFS Folder in Samsung phones)? If so, how can I back it up?
Thanks for your help

Here is a GUIDE to unlock the bootloader and root your phone
Thanks, LS.xD
This was all I needed, I've found a CM11 Rom in the Modaco forums, hope it works well. Just got to wait until I get the phone
Okay, so I downloaded the latest nighly of the ROM, but it appears that CM11 is not very stable and has many problems with SystemUI (statusbar) and other things. Aren't there any ROMS for the Y300 on XDA? Also, will I lose my network connectivity if I do the wipes (data, cache, dalvik cache)?
Again, thanks for all your help, I appreciate it
EDIT: Found CM10.1 here in XDA but it redirected me to Modaco, however it is quite stable, downloading now. So which wipes do I have to do, in order to get everything smooth? Also, as I said will I lose my network connectivity or IMEI if I do these wipes, or I can do this without worrying
Hey guys. I posted a few days ago with a question about restoring my dad's phone to stock for warranty and this got me thinking about making some changes to my phone as well. I'm currently on Beans rom (Now called Alliance I believe) build 21. I'm thinking about trying out CM11 which I believe is Android 4.4. I went to the CM website to check out a guide on how to do this and came across this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i605
This guide APPEARS to be written for Note 2's that took the OTA that locked the bootloader. I still have an unlocked bootloader on Beans rom. So my question is do I need to bother with all the steps in that guide? Or is that only if bootloader is locked? Do I need Heimdall or Clockworkmod Recovery? Can I just use TWRP that I already have and do a data/cache wipe and flash the CM11 Rom? Any firmware files needed? Since my current rom is only Android 4.1.2? The Alliance rom thread says to flash MJ9 firmware before flashing their rom but I see no mention of it in the CM guide.
Thanks so much. You guys are the best!
Hello, I'm flynn!
I just recently bought the Lg G3 and I love it so far but I now want to root to get rid of stock apps that can't be uninstalled and eventually go onto CM12. I have read about V6 update and how we're not supposed to update because we'll lose root but I wanted to update and see if I liked the lg g3 stock or not. I also have downloaded the LG flashtool and LG G3 Drivers and have followed the tutorial here for the lg flash tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042/post54912191#post54912191
Now my question becomes. If I use the flashtool back to v4, will my current modem and kernel be replaced by the one used with v4? Or will only my rom be replaced?
Another question, after i flashtool back to v4 I want to go back onto v6. Will the odexed rooted v6 include the kernel and modem needed when I flash the v6 pre-rooted rom? I read the forum for the rooted v6 odexed and deodexed and it says that the bare rom has stock kernal and modems so I am not sure because at the bottom there are bone stock and intid kernels.
I did lots of reading and I am now very scared to root. I read the Q&A for the lg g3 and I saw a question about the lg g3 having cdma and gsm modems. Does that mean I need to flash multiple modems?
Also, I can flash the unofficial cm12 if i'm on rooted stock v6 right? as long as I have twrp recovery?
Please take good care of my LG G3 community! I'm looking forward to how far this device will go this year!
Also, HUGE shoutout to @engine95. I have been researching and looking through the forums so I can familiarize myself with the root process on the lg g3 and he has just done great and amazing things for the G3. Seems like he's the only dev working on this phone. THANKS FOR YOUR WORK!!! :good::good::laugh::laugh:

1. Yes. Flashtool to ZV4 will replace modem and kernel back to ZV4.
2. Yes the ZV6 Roms include modem and kernel. The others are there if people want them for whatever reason. It's all in the OP's of the threads.
3. One modem for both GSM and CDMA.
4. If you root and unlock, you can flash any ROM here.
5. Thanks. But no, I'm not the only one working on our phone. I'm just the only one that posts a lot. Lol
There are a lot of others doing awesome work.
Thank you! I just successfully flashtooled back to v4 and then rooted and bunped. I also flashed back to stock rooted v6.
Thank you again for replying and everything you've done!
So I've had the G3 for a while but haven't played with it at all like I have with some of my old phones. I'm not currently rooted and have already taken the Verizon update to Lollipop VS98523C. Can I even root my phone in it's current state? If I can root, what root method would be the best one. I've seen a few different ones. If I did root are there even ROMs that would work for my phone. I'm most interested in putting CM on it. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched the forums quite a bit and haven't found this information. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Downgrading via kdz or tot, then rooting using the new method, then install latest version of TWRP for our phone, then flashing the rom from TWRP would be the easiest, most brick resistant method
Can you tell me which root method is the new one?
Don't need to downgrade at all anymore. The new root script is somewhere in the regular LG G3 sections (not Verizon specific) and there's now an app in the Play Store (there's a thread from only a day or more ago in these Verizon LG G3 sections about it) for installing TWRP on our phone that's supposed to work under Lollipop. I haven't tested it yet, myself, mind you.
For reference, the old root method is called Stump and didn't work with 12B or newer.
