New to G3 and need root! - Sprint LG G3

Hello, I'm flynn!
I just recently bought the Lg G3 and I love it so far but I now want to root to get rid of stock apps that can't be uninstalled and eventually go onto CM12. I have read about V6 update and how we're not supposed to update because we'll lose root but I wanted to update and see if I liked the lg g3 stock or not. I also have downloaded the LG flashtool and LG G3 Drivers and have followed the tutorial here for the lg flash tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042/post54912191#post54912191
Now my question becomes. If I use the flashtool back to v4, will my current modem and kernel be replaced by the one used with v4? Or will only my rom be replaced?
Another question, after i flashtool back to v4 I want to go back onto v6. Will the odexed rooted v6 include the kernel and modem needed when I flash the v6 pre-rooted rom? I read the forum for the rooted v6 odexed and deodexed and it says that the bare rom has stock kernal and modems so I am not sure because at the bottom there are bone stock and intid kernels.
I did lots of reading and I am now very scared to root. I read the Q&A for the lg g3 and I saw a question about the lg g3 having cdma and gsm modems. Does that mean I need to flash multiple modems?
Also, I can flash the unofficial cm12 if i'm on rooted stock v6 right? as long as I have twrp recovery?
Please take good care of my LG G3 community! I'm looking forward to how far this device will go this year!
Also, HUGE shoutout to @engine95. I have been researching and looking through the forums so I can familiarize myself with the root process on the lg g3 and he has just done great and amazing things for the G3. Seems like he's the only dev working on this phone. THANKS FOR YOUR WORK!!! :good::good::laugh::laugh:

1. Yes. Flashtool to ZV4 will replace modem and kernel back to ZV4.
2. Yes the ZV6 Roms include modem and kernel. The others are there if people want them for whatever reason. It's all in the OP's of the threads.
3. One modem for both GSM and CDMA.
4. If you root and unlock, you can flash any ROM here.
5. Thanks. But no, I'm not the only one working on our phone. I'm just the only one that posts a lot. Lol
There are a lot of others doing awesome work.

Thank you! I just successfully flashtooled back to v4 and then rooted and bunped. I also flashed back to stock rooted v6.
Thank you again for replying and everything you've done!

T-Mobile G2 ROM updates, How to...

Hi Guys,
I searched the threads for T Mobile G2 updates but i couldnt find the right information.
I have the T-Mobile G2 and i wish to install custom ROMS for HTC Hero, or the STOCK ROMS. but i cant. How can I install? Can anyone help me or send me links to HOW TO's...?
Do I first need to Root the G2?
Is it even possible to install Hero ROMS on the G2?
Thanks in Advance!
gr Haru
If u wanna Install custom ROM then go for MoDaco http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552591 Read it and fallow the instruction. I have got T-mobile G2 with MoDaco ROM and its much better than factory one. I don't think there is any different betwen Hero and G2. Hardware should be the same which is the most important.
If you want to go official then you need to wait for t-mobile version ROM. Just check sometimes www.htc.com --> support.

[Q] Preparing for 23c ROMs

Quick background: I'm a new LG G3 owner and I've been rooting and ROMing with three previous phones going back to the OG Droid but only by following the awesome work of developers. I'm currently on the 12b build which is what the phone came with and I've rooted and installed a custom recovery.
At some point I'll try a LP Rom but I'm not quite ready yet. I was wondering if I should go ahead and flash the 23c modem and kernel now while I'm still on KK. Would that cause an issue? If that would be an issue, when would I flash those in the upgrade process?
As a side note, does anyone have a recommendation as to which LP ROM is most stable? I like customization (which the LG UI doesn't have enough of), but I value full functioning and stability more.
Thanks in advance for any help and I apologize if this info is already posted; I've been searching and reading for hours
You can't use the 23C kernel or modem on 12B.
ROMs usually include kernels so when you flash a ROM, it'll include whatever kernel's needed. I could be wrong but I think the stock LG Lollipop ROMs that have been released include the modem, too.
If they don't, flash the modem after you flash a 23C ROM.
As far as what Lollipop ROM is most stable, that's personal preference. I use my own modified Odex'd.

Thanks for the help.

Recovery, Root, and Rom?

Hello, I am asking a couple questions today, as I cannot find all of the answers, and I have been looking for a while.
I just now rooted my Verizon G3, which has been updated to Lollipop, Software version VS98523C.
My first question is what recoveries are available, and how to install them? I would love a custom recovery to start regular backups, and install a custom Rom, which leads me to my next question, Which custom roms are there and what do you recommend installing on this device? I remember lving slimrom on my G2, until sprint ruined my phone, I have loved pac-rom on many tablets, I loved Cyanogenmod on my Samsung galaxy S2, and I am not sure which rom to use for the G3.
My final question, is what root apps are worth installing on the device? Which root apps are a must have? Any recommendations.
Thank you all for your help!
I believe you need to roll back to 10b. In other words, search xda for the tot or kdz method of returning to stock. Them you can install recoveries, root, etc. As far as I know you cannot install a bumped recovery from 23c
This program reportedly works to install TWRP on rooted lollipop: autorec
Note: I have not tried this method as I have not had the need to try it.

If you're looking for some good stock-based ROMs, you really need to check out @HolyAngel 's SkyDragon and @hsbadr 's Jasmine. I've been running SkyDragon for about a month now and have zero complaints and the performance and battery life are exceptional. If you like customizing, SkyDragon gives you the option to install the Xposed framework which allows for numerous tweaks and customizations.
As for the applications that I have found to be useful, you can't go wrong with any of the following which I use on my daily driver:
Xposed Modules;
G3 TweaksBox (a must-have)
Xposed Torch
YouTube AdAway
Root Apps;
App Ops
BusyBox Pro
Solid Explorer
SuperSU Pro
Titanium Backup Pro
LG Volume Booster
XCam LG (Pro)
After you install TWRP, keep a backup on your SD card and you've got nothing to worry about.

Thinking about Custom Roms

I would like to try out new custom roms (I'm currently on stock rom zv4 rooted)
1) Does the LG G3 quick circle work on all custom roms? Or just specific stock based roms? I am very dependent on the quick circle. Also if quick circle does work on custom roms, is it a much faster than stock rom? On stock rom quick circle feels kind of slow.
2) I'm currently on KitKat & would like to update to LolliPop which is why I want to try out a new custom Rom? Does Xposed work as good as it does on KitKat or are there things I should be aware.
3) Stupid Question, what is the difference between Sprint LG G3 Android Development & Sprint G3 Original Android Development?
4) Is it best to update to ZVA via phone provider, then root, bump, then custom rom? Or continue from where I am currently on zv4 root, bump, then custom rom? Will I need to flash zva modem if i stay on zv4?

As far as I know there is a quick circle app for AOSP roms, not sure how far along it is. Not too sure about Xposed, never use it. Difference between original and android development is original is a rom that is built without using other developers work, like CyanogenMod. Android development is roms made using parts of 1 or more roms with their permission, making them not original. Zv4 is easiest to root and then add bumped TWRP recovery. After I had zv4, I flashed engine95's stock zva without loosing root or rrecovery.

I went with non bumped twrp because HTC and dumlock issues... After I got recovery installed I backup and went to wipe factory reset instead I accidentally wiped internal storage and lost my backup and the CM ROM I was about to flash... So my phone was soft bricked but it is back up. If bumped is like HTC dumblock I may not have been so lucky getting my phone back up CM12.1 is only 340mb and stock lg ROM was 2gb and I have crappy internet. So if your looking for a good ROM CM is amazing to so far...

Well, if you are officially on the unrooted, stock 5.1.1, and haven't installed the custom recovery, you can just take the OTAs. That would be the easiest route.
If you have bumped with TWRP or have a custom stock 5.1.1 ROM, or are rooted, then look for any of the threads that discuss how to revert back to 10B and once that has occurred, you can take the OTAs to upgrade to the latest MM version.
Actually, just a thread or two below this one is the guide you're looking for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/lg-g3-downgrade-to-10b-t3354834
Not to sound mean or nasty, but I won't repeat what is in that thread because it's repeating things that are already outlined and just pollutes the forum.
Hope this helps!
Flash the 47A KDZ with LG Flash Tool 2014 if you're not using Verizon and therefore can't take OTAs.

actually i dont have verision sim or nothing. and Version is not Available in my Country.
You could flash this latest image if you want then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/vs985-46a-stock-flashable-firmware-t3304365
You'll have to root and then bump with TWRP to flash it if you're not already rooted and bumped.
