Micro sim adapter - HTC Rezound

I have moved to a new phone which uses micro-sim card.
At some point I might want to put the micro-sim card into the rezound.
Does anyone have a good experience with any particular brand/model micro sim adapter?

IMO, I don't think it really matters as long as it keeps the card stable.
Heck, I just ended up making my own. Took an old gift card, traced the size of the original SIM, lined up the contacts on the original / microSIMs, and traced the area to cut out for that. Then I just used an X-acto knife, and cut out the tracing I made. Took about 20 minutes to do since it was my first time doing it, but it was pretty easy. Saved myself a couple bucks + shipping from Amazon though.
Had it like this for several months no; no issues at all.

You can buy one or make one if you like, but you really don't need one. It will work just fine if you put the microsim into the sim slot as is.

I use a micro sim adapter to go between my ReZound and S3. Bought mine of EBay a long time ago. Never had any issues.

A-Data 16GB MicroSDHC Class 6

Does anyone know if one of these cards work with the HTC Tilt2?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...CH&Description=16gb+microsdhc+class+6&x=0&y=0
I'm using one in mine now. I bought it from newegg a few months ago, looks like the prices went up some. I paid $49 deilvered for mine with no adapters. Now they want $20 more for it.
It works great, I highly recomend Adata. I have a 8gb class 6 as well. Don't know if there's any price drops on the way but you may want to go the 8gb route for under $20 and wait and see.

Works for me on HTC Touch Pro 2. I would have said no problems at all, and generally I haven't - it works fine for daily use, however:-
I have had a curious problem where if the phone is fully chrged while turned off, it then wouldn't recognise the MicroSd until I took it out and accessed it from a PC first. Easy to avoid by taking the card out before charging, or charging whil the device is on.
I then had my first major problem yesterday. I took the card out to flash the new Energy ROM after backing up, but then putting the card back in post-flash it wouldn't recognise it - and neither would the PC. I had to reformat and restore all the data (painful for 16Gb!). I am now going to keep a full backup regularly..
Otherwise, fully recommended after 4-5 months use.

Is yours a class 6 though?
I'm sure its a Class 6, I have the A-Data 16GB MicroSDHC Class 6 and it even work great on the Kaiser.
I bought one. Regret it. I cannot flash ROMS off it as it isnt recognized by my device until its booted. I have to use a different card when flashing roms which is a real pain.

Bump,
I regret it as well. I however am a total moran. I Bought the same class 6 8gb adata for my kaiser. I could not flash from the card then. I cannot flash NOW. Spent like 50 bucks. So Pissed. What a waste!
Do not recommend this card.
I have bought adata products in the past and haven't had the best of luck with them. Their reliability seems suspect. I was going to buy two of their full-sized SD cards for our camcorder from NewEgg a couple of months ago, but the reviews seemed to indicate an unusual amount of problems despite the overall high rating. Enough that I wasn't willing to take the chance. I would look for another brand.
One of these perhaps:
RiData (Ritek) class 6. I've had good luck with them in the past.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820183245
The OCZ is probably good too, but it's out of stock at the moment. Same thing for the Transcend.
Works fine in the T-Mo TP2. I never tried flashing from the sd card so I dont know how that works but for everything else (games, music, movies, etc..) it works flawlessly.
Got mine from Amazon. Hassle free packaging + next day air = $50 when I got it.
Any word on a 32gb micro yet?
I have this card as well and the only issue I have is that the card goes to sleep when the screen turns off. This generally just means I can not listen to MP3's from the storage card while I have the screen off. I would not purchase an A-Data card again.
I'll be looking at getting a new card soon.

Insurance Claim

So I got some water in my headphone jack yesterday. Everything works fine other than the jack. However, I use the Thunderbolt as an mp3 player and through my car stereo a lot so I filed a claim through Asurion and paid the $100.
They are going to send me a new phone with a SIM card, charger and sd card. Now, can I just take the SIM card from my existing Thunderbolt and put it in the new one? That way I can just activate the device over the phone or online instead of having to go into a Verizon store, right? Also, I'm assuming it's okay if I keep my SD card that already has all of my stuff on it and then send the new one back in the return box? Same with the new SIM card.
Just seeing what most people do in this situation. Thanks.
It's ok to swap Sims and keep your sd card. Are you sure either one wasn't subjected to the water as well? If you're sure they're both good, it's OK to swap em' out.

I would use the new phone, sim card and SD card, just in case the old ones ar damaged, sometimes the damage doesnt present for a while, but keep the old SD card for a spare if it still works at the moment, might get lucky and its okay.

Not sure if things have changed with this phone, but when I replaced my BlackBerry Storm through asurion last year their return instructions explicitly said to return only the phone. Got extra sd cards and chargers out of the deal. Also, I just had my bolt warranty replaced, and as long as your sim hasn't been retired, the activation instructions were to just move the sim over. In my case I had to go to the store to get a new sim because they retired it while I was using a temporary Eris. Hope that helps!
I agree keep the SD card and cords......you can just swap the sim card. Which is the whole point of the sim.

I had my Bolt replaced thru insurance and they sent my new one with an sd card, battery, and charger, but no sim. The instructions said to send only the phone back, so I kept the extra sd card, battery, and charger. I put the old sim in the new phone and used the old sd card too. I sent back only the broken phone with no issues and got to keep all the extra stuff.

Thanks, guys. Glad to hear I can keep the extra accessories as backups.
Someone quickly mentioned this but just so you don't have what happened to me happen to you, don't reactivate an old phone while you wait for your replacement or your Sim will go into retirement. If you don't do that you should be able to use the same Sim card. Make sure you send Asurion nothing but the phone I.E.: no battery cover, no charger, no microsd, if I remember right you might keep the battery too. They will tell you in the package but I believe thats what it says.

[Q] Lexar 32GB Mirco SD

Will this work with our Photons?

The price isn't half bad plus it has free shipping. Also, class 10.
Interested if anyone's using one in their photons or anything similar (32gb class 10).
I have a class 6 16GB in mine. WOrks decently. From what I recall the higher the class the quicker it will work, etc etc. And I think for the most part an SD card is an SD card, so if the price is right, and you NEED that much room, get it.
yup. as long as card is genuine it should work.
Thanks guys. That's what I needed to hear!
and yes I do need that much space ^^

Be very carefully when buying these types of items from amazon.
I wanted a 32gb SD card also. Did a lot of web searching for the best price. Found a sandisk 32gb on amazon for about 30 bucks. I jumped all over it. When they arrrived 2 weeks later from China, it was pretty obvious that they were knock offs. The printed label on the card was missing the class information, and the SD adaptor that came with it had a label that was poorly placed. When I inserted the card, it showed the correct amount of memory, 27gb or thereabouts. But problems appeared when actually using the card. Music synced from comp would appear while still connected to comp, but would dissappear completely when disconnected, or appear, but have a 0 byte file size. When i took pictures, they would appear as green blocks when viewed with gallery.
Just make sure your buying from a reputable dealer.
Also, not sure of your location, but current exchange says that item is $65 US. I bought a 32gb, class 10 from best buy for the same price. So its not that good of a price. Though I can't seem to find one right now, they come and go.
the seller in the devilshadow'S link is amazon itself.
Further, Sandisk,Kingston and memorette has too many fakes.
Have not heard fake card of Lexar or PNY.

I'm in europe so the price is about 50ish Euros for me for the card I linked. Also, i am fully aware of the massive knockoff market when it comes to SD cards. It's part of the reason I chose amazon over Ebay. I've also made sure to check if the SD card i bought has the "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk" status. The user reviews also guarantee it's genuine.
I bought mine straight from Lexar when they were first released. Ran it in the Evo and now in my Photon.
My first one started exhibiting corruption and eventually died (a few months before I got the Photon). Lexar replaced it with minimal hassle and it's been good to go since.

Lost my 16gb Card!!!
I have a missing 16gb that I was using, I lost it when I removed it to unlock my bootloader as a precaution.
Looking to get a 32gb card!!!
OK, I will say this one more time. #1, Not all cards are alike. I have a class 2 32Gb SanDisk that has treated me well, on Fuze, Evo, and Photon. I got a class 6 32Gb knock-off for the speed BUT, after we ran the test, my SanDisk blew it away by over 50% speed wise.
Next, I noticed by playing with others phones (Hey, I like to play with phones?), depending on what your doing, is different. For example, playing music or playing a game. Games, I found, need higher I/O than music.
I just bought a 32gb lexar class 10 for $60 at best buy. Im in canada right now. Future shop had a sale, they were sold out. I printed it out and best buy gave me the same deal. My advice is becareful online, there are lots fake cards. Look for sales from a reputable retailer.

Will our Photon support one of the new 64GB cards like this one?
http://amzn.com/B005VFG0B2
According to our phone's specifications, that is a firm "No".
Do NOT waste your money buying one, unless you have another device that can support it. It will not work on the Motorola Photon 4G, or the Motorola Electrify.
As far as I know the new Samsung Galaxy Note is the only phone out that supports that card.

How much more does the sdxc part cost vs the sdhc? I think we'll be good on the sdxc spec for a while, the size limit is 2TB.

[Q] well i'd like your advice, is this worth a sgs2?

Hello all sgs2 owners, would you considder this for a sgs2? im not asking you to actually sell me one, wrong place for that just want to know if it's worth it:
Sandisk 16gb SD card £20
Sandisk 8gb SD card £5-10
Saner 1900mah extended battery £20
White housing cover £40
And I'll throw in £15 ($23.8)
Jvc in ear headphones £20
The phone is in a very good condition and unlocked.
£5 case included as well.
SD card adapter which works with both SD cards so they can be out into a computer or laptop although I'm not sure how though.
over $200 of accessories and the phone itself.

Well i was just asking for people's opinions if it was actually worth it as you own one. I've tried it on gumtree.com, basically like ebay, and I had to text them all or e-mail them, wait like 4 days for a reply which would be 'cash only'. This is the real only other alternative.
As stated before, wrong place and I suspect maybe a mod will come and delete this, but the phone is great! I would dare say the BEST phone out in the market now (or on par with galaxy nexus & note).
*but being as it is used, make sure you can test it all out first and they can guarantee you a refund within a week or 2 if there is any major problems.
**so bring a notebook with you to test it's working with usb, etc too.

[Q] Did I get a fake or bad Samsung MicroSD from eBay?

So I got a Samsung 32GB class 10 MicroSD card off eBay for my soon to ship AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 and I ran some tests on it and got some weird results and I'm wondering if I got an el-fako. It was a bulk packaged one (ie just in an adapter case holder).
I ran h2testw and got results lower than I was expecting (like 15 read/6 write) but that didn't bother me too much. But then I tried to run CrystalDiskMark; I didn't realize that selecting 5 made it run the tests 5 times and it was taking forever, so I left it running when I went to bed. When I woke up it was frozen on Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/5] hitting stop did nothing and I couldn't close the program or even end the process in task manager. When I went into the disk in my windows explorer it froze windows explorer and then I couldn't do anything really involving the SD card. I even had to cold power down the system since attempting to shut down within the OS did nothing.
Now today running CrystalDiskMark it ran the first 7 tests fairly quickly on 1 iteration and then it's again stuck on the last test Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/1]. Or at least it's been doing that test for like a half hour with no change and as mentioned overnight it didn't get past it so I doubt waiting will do anything for me. A screenshot of the results so far are attached.
Now having said that, I am using the built-in 7in1 card reader in a 4 year old dell Vostro 1700 so it wouldn't surprise me if the reader couldn't handle the top speeds of the card or even if it freezing up was the fault of the reader but I am concerned. Anyone have any thoughts?
Ebay fake Samsung SD cards
I had the same issue. 15 R/ 6 W, when class 10 clearly should be constant speeds of 24 Read and 13 Write. Brought from ebay seller moe_122 for £19.99 32GB Class 10 Samsung Micro SD.
I tried this both on my laptop card reader and my PC, using both the SD card adapter and a standalone USB Micro SD card reader.
I then checked out images of some available from Amazon and they are clearly different. Genuine mSD shown on Amazon had writing on back, whereas the one I'd received was blank.
I have today, emailed them requesting a replacement, they instead offered a full refund. the only thing is now I have the S3 but no micro SD card, and I have to post it back to them. They tried to say that I was liable for return postage but I was not having it. In the end I just escalated to ebay resolution center and they begrudging agreed to refunding me the postage.
I just brought one from amazon for £19.99 with free super saver delivery.
Thank me if you found this useful.
This is why you never buy Sd-Cards from ebay!!
Try Amazon, I'd recommend Sandisk also

Yeah mine has writing on the back and it matches every picture I've seen so far. I know that doesn't really indicate anything re: fake/bad but it's at least not an obvious fake.
This will be my first time ever having an issue with an eBay purchase if it is one and the buyer has 99.99% positive on like 80k deals so I'm sure worst case I get a replacement or a refund. I'm not too worried about it; it's just annoying if in fact it is a bad card/fake. I would have bought from Amazon but at the time I ordered they didn't have any good deals and the eBay price was like $10-$15 cheaper. Of course since then there have been a couple deals at the same or better pricing. If it turns out this one is going back I'll probably try and be patient and pick up a 64gb sandisk if they drop to ~$50-$60 again soon.
Hm...
Argh... as a noob i cannot yet post link to the photo of mSD card on amazon.
I too have had positive experiences with ebay so far, but when it comes to things like this, I guess it is better to go with a reputable seller like Amazon.
Go into your phone shop dealer and see what cards they sell there.

Hey Erikk, I am having the same exact problem as you, I am using the card reader in my new laptop and my card is benching much higher as it should be but when I am getting to the same test it gets frozen on Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/5] and nothing happens I can't end process, I have to cold power down like you as well. I know for a fact the microSD card I got is not a fake because I compared with other real samsung 32gb mircosd cards. I got mine at a MicroCenter. I don't know what to do at this point because the card is fantastic as far as speed is concerned it just gets stuck at that part...
Appreciate help from anyone that knows a possible solution, returning it may be the only option but I have a hard time believing the card it self is defective.
There are so many fake cards on eBay it's not even funny. I got burned once and will never buy there again. I'd rather pay a little more at my local store, at least then I have the peace of mind of being covered by consumer protection laws.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
UPDATE: Booting into safe mode did the trick, I no longer get frozen on Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/5] ALSO my speeds seem to have improved some more as well. lol :victory: No defect with the card after all, just something was not working well with crystaldiskmark in the normal OS environment.
I just don't get why people spend £500 on the best phone available then go to Ebay to find the cheapest card they can possibly find.

If you want them cheap get them from ebay, but dont blame anyone if you get a fake one, you get what you pay for. It has been said many times, many ebay sellers sell fake micro sd.

Always get a good quality card reader, dont compare the cheap and nasty one's with a branded one, you won't get the same results.

Cos they just spent all their money on a $700 phone....
I went to eBay because it was cheap enough that I really didn't care if I got burned on a fake card (plus with all the paypal/ebay protections the burn would only be the annoyance of disputing the charge). I am now fairly certain it's not a bad or fake card; in the S3 antutu reads it with the correct speeds. I think it was just the 5 year old multi-card reader built into my laptop that was having issues.
So either way, I'm happy now with my card.
I'm normally very careful, but I made the mistake of buying some "Sandisk" SD cards from Ebay.
They looked absolutely perfect, the welded plastic packaging was flawless, yet sadly they turned out to be fake.
A typical scam is to reprogram and rebrand cheaper, smaller capacity, slower or otherwise low quality cards as pass them off as high quality brands.
Often everything seems OK until the card is part-used, when files start to corrupt. Of course, often by the time this becomes apparent, the seller has scarpered.
If the price looks too good to be true, it often really is too good to be true.
Well the seller I bought from has been an ebay member since 99, has 80k+ ratings and 99.9% positive feedback, so hopefully I won't have that happen. But yes SD cards are definitely one of the riskier items to buy off ebay.
Best tool to test SD for fakes is called H2testw. I have bought one fake on eBay, and seller also had 99% positive feedback. I guess people buy 32GB card and never get past the 1GB or 2GB by the time they leave the positive feedback. If you pass the real space everything will be corrupted. So you really never know until you try to get data out of the SD to use it. Try that tool and it will full the SD card and then read it back.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730285
PS. I don't ever buy SD card from eBay anymore.

I'm sure you are exactly right about the typical Ebay scam.
I watched one seller who had vast amounts of sales and great feedback.
They suddenly flooded the listings with vast numbers of "Kingston" brand cards at silly low prices.
Nothing happened for a while, then suddenly the bad feedback started to roll in on that supplier about corrupt data. Of course, all the cards had been sold. Seller vanished without trace.

Yeah my card passed H2testw. It just came back with speeds I thought were too low for what the card should have been capable of. With the tests I've run with the phone itself I think those slow tests were just indicative of the crap reader my ancient laptop has. So I guess I got lucky in the eBay crapshoot.

I guess people buy 32GB card and never get past the 1GB or 2GB by the time they leave the positive feedback. If you pass the real space everything will be corrupted. So you really never know until you try to get data out of the SD to use it. Try that tool and it will full the SD card and then read it back.

PS. I don't ever buy SD card from eBay anymore.

you don't need to give feedback in an instant, test it out first then decide.

Yeah my card passed H2testw. It just came back with speeds I thought were too low for what the card should have been capable of. With the tests I've run with the phone itself I think those slow tests were just indicative of the crap reader my ancient laptop has. So I guess I got lucky in the eBay crapshoot.

you need a good quality external card reader to get upto standard results, kingston and sandisk has the fastest card reader on the market costing approximate USd 35 - USD 45.
card reader built into laptop does what it suppost to do, but at low speed.
Fake or Real
I have downloaded sd tools on my S3 and I'm getting results of 7.2 MB/s write speed, and, 17.6 MB/s read speed.
Is this fake or real?
