Interesting. Can you share your framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk please? And let me know what type of device you have, what version of Android, what rom, etc.

I tried everything to change the sliding tabs into the old 2.1 looking ones. I failed.

This is what i mean, they look 3D like, and with Swiftdroid they look just like to be plain, not 3D.
So i extracted the ones from Quarkx 2.1 rom, put them in framework-res.apk and put it via adb on my phone -> boot looping.
So, how can i put them on my phone and change the Lockscreen Tabs
Widgetlocker has the 2.1 style tabs

If you want ill make it for you with a update.zip because it sounds like you have permission problems.

You need to edit framework-res.apk inside rom you are currenty using. Copy tabs images from 2.1 framework-res.apk than open your framework-res.apk in Win-RAR or something like this program and paste images to replace it. Than just replace framework-res.apk
= Boot Loop too
OMG give me just framework-res.apk file inside your ROM ;]
here you are http://michabilbang.de/framework-res.apk
Use NinjaMorph and replace the desired files
Simple and easy !!!
You can get something like this
First try this:
Code:
http://www.multiupload.com/SO1CZAO12C
only when first will not work try this: (rename signed-framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk ;])
Code:
http://www.multiupload.com/NPPRC1Z6WB
first one worked, thx
but needed to increase system space a bit.
Code:
http://www.multiupload.com/9GV3N6UED0
For RC3, working for me.
Hello,
I'm trying to edit SystemUI.apk. After some problems with decompiling I finally did it. I've changed the things I wanted and now I can't get it compiled.
That's an error I get:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I attach decompiled SystemUI.apk and already modded but not compiled SystemUI.apk.
Could You please try to help me, try to compile it or give any hint?
Not decompiled and not modded SystemUI.apk
Decompiled SystemUI.apk. Just unpack it with WinRar << That's what I want to compile
PS. This even happens when I want to compile unmodded .apk
Ha ha , same happened me many times (it was on Linux, but same issuses).
I happens if you try to mod any part of SE apps. They are build around specific framework and if you include it for apktool, it simply doesnt work or mostly causes this huge crash.
Tried a lot of mods,few others frameworks and nothing helped. Still want to find a solution, because I worked on stock launcher to support landscape and with other icons layout....

Welcome to my 2nd theming thread
Since I'm the kind of person that likes to change his phone looks all the time I decided to change the main apps icons and share it with you guys.
This is the first one but I'm going to work on more.
Hope you guys like it! If you do don't forget to say thanks!
It works on Pureness rom but I'm pretty sure It will work any 4.0.4 rom!

I succesfully decompiled SystemUI.apk and changed all .png's. Also I add some to "status_bar_expanded.xml" and to "styles.xml" via this guide but I always get error whent I try this recompile.
I really don't know which is problem so I need advice.
If anybody want to help me please coment or PM me.
Thanks a lot
P.S. My stock apk is in attachments and I'm running AOSP 4.0.4.

What is the error you're getting? Most programs tell you in the error message what the problem is.
