Back to stock -> SD card empty? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
yesterday my phone bricked and i had to flash back to stock via odin and after i flashed a CM rom again, all my pictures are gone i've taken with CM roms in the last 4 weeks, is it normal?!
I'm a bit mad at the moment and think about to flash only stock based roms to avoid this issue if my phone will brick again..
thanks

There's not a lot you can do then. It may have been the flashing of the rom that caused it to get wiped
suggest using dropbox to autoupload photos
Or look at this:

Need some help!

I recently just got this razr and it already has Epsilon v3 and is smooth but the internal memory is totally full and when i go through the folders i can not find whats on the sd card that is eating 8gigs. All my music and nandroid is on external sd so i know that isnot the problem. What i would love to do is revert this xt910 back to stock ICS and flash a fresh rom. I love this phone but i can not for the life of me find out where is 8gb of internal memory has gone. Someone please enlighten me!!!

have you tried to locate the source via setting > storage (don't know exactly how it's called in english, but in epsilon rom there a sd card symbol under settings )
there the storage usage is devided to some parts you can seperate from each other. maybe this way you're able to enclose the the storage hungry area?
PS: have you installed some 3D games? maybe some uninstalled game data is still existing?

Yes i have checked that in the settings and thats the funny part it says there is still 2 gb on the internal (which there should be more then that) but when i plug into my Mac and look at the drive properties it says drive is full. I have like one or two games and they are not 3d. Is there a way i can just start fresh. Im used to Samsung devices where i can just use Odin to go back to stock. My memory is so low my phone wont even let me update currentlt installed apps. Im at my wits end lol

it pops up a thing before it boots? if so then then safetrap is installed and it is probably from backups. you can go to your ext-sd and find safestrap, then go to backups and delete the backups that are there if there are backups

after you find that folder and delete the backups that are there if there are any, Id recommend fastbooting back to stock .211 and then doing everything you want to do from there so you have a brand new fresh phone.

There is no safestrap folder on the internal sd card. Actually when i browse the card there really isnt much to be seen in there. This is what is pissing me off because i have checked every single folder and sub folders and the biggest file i can see is like a couple of mb. I mean i cant even take a screenshot because there no room left.

hmmm. when you go to settings/storage what is taking up the space? apps, pictures/videos, audio, or downloads
Its shows 80 mb of pics and videos and 18mb of apps and thats all. The bar graph shows there is a lot of memory left.

Well it may be a software problem or something I'm not sure. The only thing I can think to do is format your internal storage and fastboot back to stock. 211. I've never heard of a memory problem like that

Thank u sir. I guess i shouldve stated that. Yes i have GSM. What i really want to do is start fresh and learn what restrictions apply to this phone based on the locked bootloader. My ideal scenario would be going back to complete stock Motorola ICS, gain root, flash a recovery and finally flash my desired rom. I dont know the correct stock firmware i am able to flash via rsdlite (i think thats the program i read about) to return to stock.

Here 's all you need to know
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29242699
First part to get your Stock and the rest to get your Custom running.
Since you're running Epsilon you only can Flash an ICS Rom. You need to find the right one for your Region!
After that you can Root with Eternity Projekt Root or by using the DroidRazrRoot404 Root. Both you' ll find in the Development Section.

Ok i read if am on ICS i cant go back to GB (fine with me). but i clicked that link and all the files are GB. But the bottom says "OTA" are those ICS? My Razr is EU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28199369
Here you got an Fastboot Files for ICS EU
Wipe Data in Stock Recovery and flash them with RSD (search for V5.7)
After that, you can apply this Update through stock Recovery
put in on your external SD, boot in recovery and apply Update from external storage

After ODIN Flash contacts are deleted

Hello a friend of mine wanted the preleaked Samsung JB 4.1.2 installed. I have a backup of everything, only the contacts are missing because he has saved his contacts in the memory of the phone and not with the google account, what I realised after the flash.
Is there a way to get this contacts back? I also tried to restore a nandroid backup without success!

Did u check if there really isn't any backup?
So tried to sync with google account OR
check the SIM?
So if they for sure only was on phone memory, I think u won't have luck...
This will be wiped and so completly unreadable for it.
I didn't check this because never needed but maybe there is a kind of "recovery"-tool for that but I think there u better ask google once and u will see if there is any solution for this.
Sorry and much success, buddy.

My brow had a similar issue with his desire albeit he wanted the photos. I just unpacked the nandroid and hunted around a bit. You May be able to do the same and find the contacts in some sort of file that you can extract and upload to Google or save on his phone.
Good luck.

If you have Philz kernel on ph (I assume you do b/c you've already tried restore) you'll need to flash kernel your friend had on prior to 4.1.2 flash... then restore nandroid...

Because Framaroot is very fast, don't increases the FlashCounter and it keeps the Device Status on Normal....
CF AutoRoot isn't very fast, increases the FlashCounter and makes the Device Status on Custom.
Framaroot roots my device in less than 15 seconds on my device....
For CF AutoRoot I need my Computer....

XXEMC2 seems to have fixed any unexpected freezing on my S3 (previously using xxELLA) But the battery life has suffered. Previously the average discharge rate was about 4% per hour, now it's around 7% with nominally the same usage.
Still I'd rather have to charge it more often and be able to use it than have a brick with great battery life!

PAC nightly xt912 8/26 Bootloop

Hi everyone,
I have a xt912 and flashed the 8/26 nightly yesterday morning... everything was fine except my cell service kept dropping.
must be a bug in the nightly because I was getting decent reception before.
When i got home today i noticed there was a newer 8/26 nightly up, so i dirty flashed it,
I rebooted to start it up and it went into a bootloop.
wiped davlik/cache and permissions... same problem
deleted slot 1 and did a complete wipe, reflashed, same problem
Is this a known issue for this nightly or am I experiencing an isolated incident?
Thanks for all your help in advance
