Building Android 4.3 for EVO 3D (GSM) - HTC EVO 3D

Hi, i have just finished to study C language, and i'm still learning more about android and linux, now my first goal is to try to build android 4.3 for evo 3d. I have read somewhere that i will need a new radio firmware for android 4.3. Is this true? Or just i need to try to see if the current radio firmware works with android 4.3? Anyway is there something i must know about it?! Thanks!

Someone know why everytime i try to compile a kernel i get this error:
arch/arm/kernel/setup.c:52:28: fatal error: mach/board_htc.h: file not found

What source are you using to compile? I ask this because we don't have a jelly bean sense source even so I suggest for the 3vo you attempt that and you'll be more likely to get results

ROM: i'm using the aosp android source.
Kernel: i'm trying to compile johnnyslt's kernel source code. But i get this error, is missing a file, but is strange...
Maybe is better i try to compile android aosp 4.2.2, right? And start learn how to fix bugs. Maybe it's better .-.

[IDEA]Porting Android 3.2 to Folio 100

I'm NOT EXPERT, I'm ONLY TRING TO HELP and SORRY IF I MADE SOME MISTAKES!
I have some ideas for porting android 3.2 to Folio 100 but I can't do all myself - I need some help.
My first idea is:
To add changes made in android 3.2 system(framework, apps etc.) to our Honeycomb from SDK or Xoom and decompile zlmage inside HC kernel(if that tool existe or find it's kernel source, add changes from android 3.2 kernel and recompile it).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. This idea is really hard to realise because kernel(I don't think that tool existe) but it's convinient(we'll finish it in short period with little work).
2. For this idea first we need to add changes from android 3.1 and after that from android 3.2.
3. I NEED YOUR HELP to find WHAT ARE CHANGES and TO DOWNLOAD
THEM for adding them to OUR build(First android 3.1 changes and after android 3.2).
For system that isn't problem but for kernel it is. The most detiled list of changes can
be find at Android SDK site but I think that we can't download them.
4. I think that mblaster know a lot of kernels and compiling it won't be problem for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My second idea is similar to first one:
To add changes made in android 3.2 system(framework, apps etc.) to our Honeycomb from SDK or Xoom and compile android 3.2 tegra kernel from
Android Git or from other sources.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. I think that this idea is the best if mblaster help us or some one else that know a lot
of kernels.
2. Google won't relise full source of android 3.2 before pushing up android 4.0 aka
Ice Cream Sandwich to shops.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can port system itself(it will be faster if someone make a list of changes) but kernel is
a problem. I don't know much about kernels and because it I post first idea.
If you have new ideas or you don't agree with me or want to help me, please, post here!
EDIT: Android 3.2 might work with our HC kernel.

nice idea..
if u write drivers and kernel change, some other developer can use your work alot.
anyone writing all the drivers for folio will make toshiba happy, as they did not do it..
so if you make all this happen and write the drivers , i am sure folio will once again be a good tablet.
the development is something that takes companies 3-6 months to do, so you will be back in december 2011 or maybe early 2012 with your release?
Can someone compile Tegra 3.2 kernel from here? I tried but without success. I'm porting system now.
I tried to unyaffs FolioComb 3xx v2.0 image bu I got 'Segmentation fault'???
I succefully unyaffsed Android 3.1 and 3.1 SDK images.
I'll try to backup it from my tablet(I have FolioComb on it)
Nice to see someone trying to update folio 100, thanks to you and people in CM7 thead.
I donĀ“t know about compiling so I cant help. But i keep an eye in this post.
Do you know anything about system?
EDIT:Nothing

[Q] How did your developers build a ROM when there isn't one from Samsung?

Hi.
I am a noob, not a techy
just curios - how can your devs build ICS roms when Samsung themselves did not build/create/honed/refined the Vibrant for Android 4?
What I am trying to ask is, how can your devs manage to control the hardware via android 4, if Samsung did not supply the codes/drivers/source?
Thanks
I'm not 100% sure but I think I read somewhere you can use the source code to build a ROM and then they used the Gingerbread bootloader/kernel and from there it's debugging.... again I could be wrong.
I think they took the source, and compile the source with the characteristics of the device. then applications that do not work, modified or exchanged for other versions of other rom, like the kernel, and other modifications, which is why the rom, there are many versions which fix bugs Version earlier after many users try it. (an example of this is the ICS Passion, which is now in its version 13)
Well passion is based on cm9. Which is aosp rom using source code android releases. Basically if you have drivers for hardware and a device tree you can use that source to build for any device.
Wherelse Samsung roms are usually not directly from source but just modded firmware from Samsung leaks. Oems do use close sources drivers though, usually better and get more out of hardware.

[Q]Building ICS from AOSP Source on P7510

Hi all devs for P7510:
I'm following guides all over the place in my attempt to learn a thing or two by building AOSP ICS (specifically the 4.0.4_r1 branch) from source. I know that Google states building anything other than master on a version of Ubuntu higher than 11.10 is experimental and not really supported - seen many Google Groups threads indicating this. I've been able to patch and fix some of the errors that I'm seeing, but others that I'm searching for are answered with links back to the AOSP website where it's simply saying building anything other than the master branch on Ubuntu 12.xx is not officially supported.
I am getting ready to re-do my dev environment with Ubuntu 10.04 to see if that really does make a difference somehow, but had a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can answer as I get ready to try again.
1) Has anyone out there built AOSP 4.0.4, from a branch other than master, successfully for the P7510 device?
2) If so, with what version of Ubuntu/Linux and were there many errors encountered when compiling that required fixes via manual code revision rather than simply applying a missing dependency or toolchain fix?
I've searched high and low and it's proving particularly difficult to find info on whether or not someone has been able to build a non-master branch of AOSP ICS 4.0.4 for this particular device. I know I could just abandon it and try to build JB or something instead but really want to see if I can pull this off. Hoping someone out there can help me out!
Update: I was able to complete a build today!! Please disregard the questions, self answered.

Current effort appears to be on hold until the Olympus ICS/JB Kernel Port Project can produce the required kernel.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have set up a ubuntu box and got the cm sources.
I followed the instructions to build the device files from boot.img
Tweaked the BoardConfig.mk and can build recoverys from source now using the stock kernel.
Only problem with this is the 'dtb' part of the recovery.img.
I use Android Image Kitchen to copy the original recovery dtb to the ones i have build.
[Q]Can anyone tell me how to build dtb in the recovery at build time?
I have downloaded the android and kernel source from LG for D620.
Source from LG
[Q] Can anyone tell me how to merge them with the CM source?
In general i need some help to build the kernel from source, the instructions in the LG source don't work for me.
