CM 10.2 is here, what about bug fixing? - HTC Droid DNA

Sure new version of android and we're all excited about getting it so quickly. It's amazing really. But we still can't use Bluetooth headsets with our device. I realize to most people thats a very low priorit but as a truck driver it's killing me using sense. Ha. I miss aosp... Are all efforts from here on out gonna be on getting cm 10.2 up to where 10.1 was or is anybody working on Bluetooth bug? Honestly I'll help any way I can. Would love to hear from any devs working on any aosp roms... Thanks, sorry for ranting a little

+1 to this i use BT with my car deck and no bueno not having it since I do prefer aosp over sense in general. I love viper Roms though so I'm content.

I am currently running cm 10.2 with torrented's version of crpalmers cm10.2 kernel and bluetooth audio streaming as actually been working perfectly for me with my bluebuds x
[KERNEL] [AOSP | CM 10.2][Experimental] | .torrented's Kernel | GCC 4.8/-O3 | [Sweep2Wake]
It replaces the bluetooth drivers thats normally on the DNA if I recall

That sounds like a workable solution! Can you tell me if the camera and MMS are working on 10.2 with the kernel you're using? If those three functions work, I can make it my DD.
Thanks!

Yeah flyhalf02 had the commit yesterday so nightly builds have it fixed. Yay! I don't really need 4.3 yet (not that I don't want it) but camera is always a deal breaker. Still excited to get off of sense ROMs lol.

Sadly the camera is still broken in cm 10.2 without any hint of being fixed soon but I imagine since thats the only major thing broken with cm 10.2 that's probably what they are working on most. I haven't personally tested MMS but according to the OP of the cm 10.2 thread it should work (but he hasn't tested it yet either hah)

[ROM][ICS][5/6][4.0.4] Glitchy CM9 Kangs nightlies

Ok here's the scoop. These are not official CM9 nighties. Please consider Sbrissens' builds the official CM9 builds. This is his kernel and THSs device tree only modified to build directly from CM9 and not from THS. I am only building these to take some of his load off. Think of his builds as the stable builds and these for what they are Kanged nighties. Now that that's out of the way. I WILL NOT BE TRYING TO ADD THE FASCINATE TO CM9 SOURCE. That is a call that will be made by THS when they decide it is ready. Also remember that I'm building 4 different ROMs now if a nightly isn't out overnight bare with me.
Thanks to Sbrissen, JT1134, THS, Cyanogenmod, Sixstringsg, TKglitch, Efpophis, and bytemark for the server that is doing all the work for all the ROMs I'm building. Efpophis for his tweaks and fixes that we all love.
Bugsā€¦. let me know and I will talk with Sbrissen about adding fixes as he is still the official CM9 maintainer.

This nightly is different from Milestone 4 right? I've been running M4 since it came out and I'm loving it but have been expecting an update with it. I was making sure this was not it. Thanks for all the work you continue to do to make our phone run.

yes, m4 is aokp which has mods and features and things... this will be pretty much the same as sbrissen's current THS 6.5, just a little newer if there have been changes in cm9 itself in the last couple of weeks.

Works great so far!
Switched from Milestone 4 to this.
Milestone kept giving me FC errors more consistently over time so i switched over to this.
Works great so far! Thank you!

This is basically THS builds with updated CM9 frameworks nightly. As far as I know THS doesn't have MMS over wifi working yet... just MMS should be good though. I'm running AOKP where MMS over wifi is working great though.
PS New nightly up with Sbrissen compass fixes.
PSS until Glitch Releases his next build the old glitch kernel will break compass.... you have been warned.

I never got a good gps lock...even on stock....flashed the Google Specific CWM 3.1 (direct link HERE)
After flashing that...even on ICS...instant gps lock on, even indoors. Give it a try, just flash in recovery.
EDIT: I am not sure as to what is the compass as compared to the GPS...I believe they are separate sensors.

Call me stupid, but where do I find any info about the details of the nightlies to the CM9 on: http://get.cm/?device=p4wifi
I'm pretty happy with the one from 2 weeks back, but would gladly update if they're significant, e.g. working front cam

Im currently running Tron 1.2 and love it. I have also used Rage 2.3. Both seem very stable and i have very little issues besides my internal SD which i dont think is rom related because its happening on several roms and just started. The streaming and recording seem to be an issue with the JB and the rezound. It might effect other devices but not sure on that. That something that we will just have to wait for a fix on.
Anything CM10.1 based that has been released since 1/31/2013 will fix your video issues.

the most stable from my experience was a cm9 ics based rom as its most compatible with the device...most roms 4.1 based and higher have reboot issues because of a deep sleep issue caused by the default setting of the min frequency being too low under performance settings...but if you want everything to work including bluetooth and not have sense cm9 would be your best choice...4.3 based roms still have many bugs such as mms not working after first reboot and camcorder keeps force closing..4.1 and up still has a few bluetooth based bugs and your reboots...the reboots still happen on 4.3 based roms like pac until you change it to proper settings

Even the latest version of cm9 (back in 05/28/13) has bluetooth problems. Is there really no aosp or kang that is 100% functional? Weather it be 4.0, 4.2, 4.3? Came close with Liquid Smooth but still having soft reboots.
Consider Talon v1.0, because either nobody is using it (unlikely with over 3000 views), or people are using it and brenuga just built it right and it works... and my money is on the later. Seems extremely stable, feature rich, and bug-free, it is what I am going with for my work phone.
My ROM of choice is CM10.1.3. I have zero issues with it. CM9 would be my next choice.

I've been switching back and forth between NOS's GPE and a few different aosp Roms (running Vanir ATM). The customization of aosp Roms is awesome, but the performance and screen-on time just isn't up to par with sense based Roms so I go back and forth a lot. Too bad we can't have the best of both worlds, but GPE+xposed modules is about as close as it gets.

Carbon has been my daily driver until just recently as pio isn't actively developing it anymore. Hopefully he will come back to it when the time is right, but in the meantime I've been bouncing around all over between Sense and AOSP...flashed Viper 2.0 and ran it all day yesterday and it's pretty close to the customization I was used to with Carbon and PAC, and it was nice to have full speaker volume for a change. But right now I'm flashing crDroid and will probably spend a little time playing with Beanstalk today too.
When picking a ROM, my main concern is whether or not it will still be supported a week from now. With a lot of the AOSP roms for the DNA, it looks like each developer is building and supporting three or four roms, and in some cases stop building/supporting an older rom when they have three or four new ones to compile.
Because of this I stick to CM (or really any other rom with a full team behind it who releases regular builds).
I just switched back to AOSP from ViperDNA and had a good run with that.

Oh I wasn't referring to anyone in particular! I've just had a bad history on other devices of independent devs losing interest over time. I'm actually on Gummy right now and thoroughly enjoying it. I just tend to stick to "official" roms since they get updated daily, lol.
Now I flashed the 4.3.1 [ROM][4.3.1][16-Oct]**crDroid AOSP**|CM10.2|HALO 2.0|SLIMPIE|APPBAR and it's simply the best I tried so far... Awesome battery life, and perfect customization options!

Do you elaborating on GPE + xposed...I love the carbon rom and would love to increase the volume and I am getting frustrated.
I know AOSP roms have bugs. But why is it that I cannot use my voip apps on my phone whenever I have anything AOSP on it?? Is there something I'm missing?? Like changing settings somewhere?? My main complain with AOSP are the constant crashes, and that it renders my voip apps useless. Also, in my experience battery life was poor in AOSP and most of the feature rich sense based roms. I'm currently running DNA-Super-Digital rom on my phone. It's not fancy but at least it is very stable and offers a good battery life. I wish there were more stable roms with good battery life like it.

Xposed frameworks basically lets you modify apk's on the fly as if the functionality was built into the ROM, I think that's the best way to explain it. Right now I'm using xposed framework with gravitybox (various mods similar to what you find in aosp Roms), xblast tools (same type of thing), xposed statusbar mods (self-explanatory), xposed app settings (per-app DPI/permissions), and xtheme engine (let's you use cm10 themes, although they have to be pre-modified to work with xtheme). Here is the thread for xposed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401 installation instructions are in the thread, and all of the modules I mentioned are available through the app.

Jammiethemorris answered the question about xposed framework. Regarding the volume, xposed framework doesn't fix that. All CM-based roms have low speaker volume because the amplifier is not working correctly. So I switched to the GE rom which is Sense-based and therefore doesn't have the low volume problem. The GE rom looks very much like AOSP but doesn't have options to tweak it, hence the need for xposed framework which allows you to tweak he look and feel of the rom.
