Dev Edition Kernel Zip? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Can any kind soul point me to a zip file of the Dev Edition's original Kernel? In the process of rooting mine to back a backup of everything the original one was replaced by the one from the consumer version.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Reverting the Hero back to stock ROM - Help needed

Hi everyone.
I have searched both the forums and Google trying to find a method on how to revert the phone back to a stock HTC ROM. Before anyone thinks that I'm crazy, the reason I want to do this is because I'm selling the phone and not everyone might love the idea that it has been "tampered" with.
I've downloaded the latest RUU found in these forums (WWE version), but as this is an exe file I'm not sure how to go about installing it as the custom ROMs I've used have been in a .zip format. Any advice?
You are meant to install it using HTC Sync, and running the RUU on your PC. Unfortunately there is no ZIP currently available, which is a shame because I am in your situation, and the RUU doesn't work for me!

Make Goldcard first, then just run RUU... finished..

No really in topic but I can ask you where you find the latest RUU (2.1) for GSM Hero? Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind, the link is in jarscrew post!
Is it imperative to make a goldcard? Can I mess up if I don't or will it simply not work without?

whats the best choice?

hey guys sorry if im asking noob question here. im new to the samsung thread area. im used to x and inc.
just recently got this for my wife. been rooted. and thats it. im wanting well, shes wanting to stay on stock side but not too deep with custom rom. i was wondering if anybody had the file or link to a deoxed version of this 2.2 fascinate i could flash over? im not really familliar with dl30 or etc and i dont' know which is the recent 2.2 doexed version. any help would be great. or any rom thats close to stock and deoxed. thx again.
ps. what the heck is voodoo? are we talking about that new digital copy deal or ?
Here's a link to what you asked for:

This belongs in general. You should really use the search function.

Do all of this, except instead of flashing the ROM in that thread, flash this deodexed ROM (same one that chameleo78 linked to). http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20950916/EB0...xed-signed.zip
And Voodoo is a lagfix. Stock Galaxy S phones use the RFS file system, but if you flash a Voodoo kernel it makes the file system EXT4, which improves read and write speeds.
thx for the response guys!!! drop box if over loading so ill wait until it comes back online. thx

[Q] Help w/ installing mod/Kernel on stock N1

Hi all,
First of all, apologies for a very newbie question.
I have a stock N1 with terrible battery life. I have stumbled intersectRaven's mod/Kernel at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653598
I would like to ask how I can install this on my N1, is it just a matter of downloading the right file, renaming it to update.zip and then doing what I've done to update my phone as with official updates?
What do I need to pay attention to and is there a way to revert back to the original rom/Kernel if I'm having issues with this mod or if I want to sell my phone?
Thank you in advance!
You should have the clockworkmod on it. its the easiest way to install kernels. just have the kernel on your phone and click the "install rom from phone" button in the app and it should do the rest for you. I recommend backing up your phone. i never wipe when installing kernels always when doing roms though. Also a good idea is to look for the stock rom for your phone before doing anything to it so you can return it to factory. Goodluck!
Thanks merrick,
I will do some more research regarding the clockworkmod and see if that does the trick!

[Q] A few noob Rooting/Rom questions

I was browsing the 4.3 OTA beans thread and came up with a few questions. I only want the 4.3 to get my Galaxy Gear working with my GN2. I really have no other desire to flash custom roms and mod my device.
What is the difference between the ODEX and DEODEX? I have no idea what either of these is or mean. I am unsure of which version to flash to my i605 that is currently stock, but will shortly be rooted and ready to flash.
Also, what version of ODIN do i need to use to flash the necessary firmware?
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
After doing some research I think I've learned a little about the odex vs. deodex...I'm not into theming so I guess the odex version would be fine for me...
In the system/app directory of your phones root storage there is by default a .odex file that follows each and every built in app. The ROM builder removes the .odex file to make it easier to theme your ROM. If you are simply looking for a stock experience, use the ODEX. As for ODIN, whatever version is latest, or whatever version is linked in the Root Instruction post will work. I have v3.07.
IIRC, Nephilim ROM has Gear support
