Caution! When installing pimp my beat from pimp my Rom. - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

I try to install the beat app through pimp my Rom, and having problem with music player with jelly bean 4.1.2 v20f. The install went normally. And app function the way it should, but some how it messed up my music player. When playing music it stop within 30 second of the track and skip to the next. I try hard rest and that didn't work even flashing another v20f back up with cwm and it didn't solve it. I then had to flashed kdz back to ics then root it. After that I ota update with root keeper with that done everything was back to normal. I installed the xloud clear audio and Bravia engine 2 and everything work fine just not the beat audio. Just wanted to share my experience. Incase someone run into the same problem that I had and couldn't figure out what was the cause.

Well a backup would have helped IMo, anyway thanks for the word of caution and by the way the apl itself warns one about possible inconsistencies

True....ive experienced it....u can try Ac!D engine mod which works flawlessly

CM7 Video playback issues

Can play the videos I recorded using the camera fine. Having issues playing other types of videos. Divx won't play at all, mkv files have no sound. They played fine in ComRom 2.1. I'm running the latest CM7 build with the DockAudioAndCompassFix.zip kernel. Anyone else having these issues?
Yes, the stock player won't play any of my Divx videos. That was one thing I liked about TW. It included some extra codecs that don't normally come with Android.
I downloaded RockPlayer, and that seems to be working well for my Divx videos.

Yeah, touchwiz roms weren't all that bad when it came to video playback. So would pushing the video app from a touchwiz rom solve this issue? I've tried rock player and it doesn't seem as smooth.

If you don't mind possibly restoring to a nandroid backup, go for it, it might work.
I do think I remember someone (adrynalyne, maybe?) stating there were specific DRM/codec packages in the TW ROMs that handled this, and they were separate from the video player APK.
Hold off on doing a TW nandroid restore on CM7! Pretty sure that's a guaranteed bork right there, but let me verify...
EDIT: Yeah, per times_infinity in jt's CM7 thread, any nandroid backups made on a TW ROM cannot be restored onto an AOSP ROM like MIUI or CM7. You would first need to do a full stock flash in Odin including the Atlas 2.2 PIT file to get back to TW. From there, you would need to convert to Voodoo if you nandroid was created on a Voodoo system. Hopefully the first part of this message reached you in time...

Sorry, I didn't make my post clear. I'm also pretty sure that doing a full TW nandroid restore on a CM7 setup would bork your phone.
I meant that pushing the TW video player itself might screw up your phone, so if you try it, be prepared to perform a nandroid restore to a previous CM7 clean point to "fix" it.
Ah okay, I just saw TW, CM7, and Nandroid too close together and panicked then If it still doesn't work just pushing the apk, I'd go the whole nine and Odin back to stock (with PIT of course) and start clean. A very wise woman once said it best: nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure...

Lol who doesn't like an old alien reference...I bet bishop could fix the video problem!
I would like to hear if pushing the apk would work...I've got a little one on the way, and I've got a video of the heartbeat...it's a shame that I can watch it but can't hear it

Try Vplayer from the market, it supports a lot of formats.

Better audio - Beats audio drivers

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has tried to install Beats audio
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats
It should run even under stock firmware (root needed) and it's supposed to increase audio performances. I'm not sure it can be easily uninstalled, and someone says it could damage the system.
Opinions about it?
Thanks.

I have installed in the custom rom [GB] GxG JellyBread & in rooted Google Nexus & noticed a big difference.
What it does is replace the original system audio related files. If you're installing it, there's no turning back - uninstalling the app would not revert back the rom's original files. It will only remove beats logo (the one appears when headset plugs in).
If ur not sure what ur about to play with, always take a nandroid backup mate! cheerz!
Sorry my answer so late.
Which version did you install? I had a look at some Beats Audio threads and I'm quite confused. Thanks a lot.

Google Music Jelly Bean Issue?

I can't be the only one with this problem. Every time I use Google Music I have to clear data to get music to work regardless of streaming or off the sd card. Anyone have a fix or idea what's going on? I use Google Music a lot and would like to use it on jelly bean

Jelly bean is "not" really designed to work with the rezzy "officially". The jb roms are a W.I.P, expect issues. Devices may have issues and others may not.
Have you tried a different rom? If it does or does not do it on a different rom then you have your anwser(s).

I've tested it on Infection and so far it works just fine. I'll keep you posted as I just installed that rom. I did however install Google music from the play store instead of restore it from TiBackup.

Did you install the beats audio driver (if your rom has it baked in)? After installing beats and rebooting/clearing cache & data for the google music app, it worked great for me and the problems that you described seemed to go away, music plays almost instantly now for me, both streaming and from the SD card, might be worth trying if you haven't already. I've only tested this on the Infection rom so I can't say if this will apply to others.

I've had this happen on every JB ROM i've tried (though, granted, Play Music isn't my regular music app, so I don't always use it).

I do install the Beats drivers, so that could be the connection.

youtube not working since updating to jelly bean

I updated my l9 to the official Indian jelly bean few days back and since then youtube app fails to play any videos over wifi. Wifi and internet otherwise works perfectly fine on the device. Even in the youtube app I can search, look up videos within my subscriptions fine , just can't play anything over wifi. I get the error - "problem while playing touch to retry". Works fine over 3G though.
I have rebooted the phone and wifi modem/router multiple times which didn't help. I also uninstalled all the updates for the youtube app still no help. Reinstalled the youtube updates still same problem
Has anyone else faced similar problem since updating to jelly bean?

I haven't rooted my phone yet. The only reason I am reluctant to contact lg service center because I think they may not consider this as a phone/device problem. But I will try that eventually.
I feel if I could reinstall the youtube app it might help but then I'm not rooted and this app came pre-installed.
is there a way to remove pre-installed apps without rooting?

As I always say, XDA is not for lion-hearted people. Others should not even come here. I am not rough and tough user and take good care of my phone, therefore I dont care about LG's warranty and thats because I am here on XDA.
Even if anything happens to my phone in future, I will take it as bad-luck, but till then my phone will live life to the fullest.
You can update YT, if it shows Update button. Otherwise No, if not rooted.
Same problem here. Literally tried everything. I'm gonna root the phone tomorrow and try removing with Ti Backup and installing separately. Hope that works...

Anyone found a solution? I have literally tried everything from flashing numerous times to contacting LG 5 times, changing WiFi settings, etc.
However, for me YouTube works on ICS and CM10.1. But ICS is too old for me so I'm forced to be on 20A. Roms from other regions don't work too. So hopefully LG will release an update soon or CM gets stable.

Well if the YouTube app isn't working. I quick fix would be to install Adobe flash player and use naked Brower, dolphin Brower or other non stock Brower. And view the page in desktop mode (YouTube.com)
Use this link to get the latest flash player

I just tried it and it worked fine with naked browser.

youtube is working again over wifi on my p765. I have been using the default router+modem(huwaei) provided by my ISP for last 7 years. Since it was an old model (54mbps, only b/g) I was planning to get a new one and finally I bought and configured the d-link 2750U and youtube started working again.
I still can't figure out what exactly made the difference because the old router was working perfectly fine all these years with various devices including my p765 before the jb update.
Anyways, alls well that ends well

So the router doesn't like jelly bean. We bought this router almost a year back. I think there's an old configuration which ICS and Cm are okay with but not stock jb. Thanks for updating.

So has it been like this from the beginning or it just happened? Have you tried it through a browser? Download flash player and try it that way. I'll try to upload mine when I get a chance.
You might not what to hear this, but try flashing a freshly download 20d, or flash the v21d

I had the exact same problem. I was on 4.1.2 stock no root. Even after I acknowledged the message that is crashed, a minute later it would pop up the same message. The phone was running kind of wonky afterwards too. Ended up uninstalling the update and it would open normally, although the older version.

This time I'm pretty sure I have the fix. It is definitely working for me. There's a problem with the album art in the mp3's ID3 tags. I'm pretty sure it's only the art from a few of them but good luck finding which ones. If you delete all the album art from all mp3's you should be able to run the app without problems. You'll have to delete all the music from your phone and re copy it. You might have to delete everything you've uploaded to Google then re upload that too, but I'm not sure about the last part. Hope this helps.
