Lots of force closes - HTC One X+

I was running Android Revolution 7 and all was working fine.
Yesterday I decided to try an AOKP ROM 4.2.2 but went back to Revolution and using Elite kernel. I used a fresh install and wiped data/cache
I moved everything from the data/media/0 back to data/media and restored apps using titanium backup.
A lot of apps now force close including my bank, gumtree, android central, group on etc.
I still get the force close even if I uninstall the app and reinstall from the market.
Just wondering if anyone knows what I can do. Do another fresh install and try again with default kernel?
Just want advice before I waste time trying things. Thanks

I am unable to install any app market or not, i just flashed bamf 1.7 did 2 wipes before install, have proper radio...astro installed from market just fine after first boot, only thing i have done since is install the theme pack from the cubed rom. Do you think that could do it? That definitely did it. There was a problem in one of the add-on files for Cubed ROM. He updated it the other day, but it still seems to intermittently cause that same issue on my phone. Unfortunately, the only way to definitely fix it is to flash back to the backup you made when you installed the Cubed themes. You did do a backup, right?

Google Services Framework force closing

Google Services Framework keeps force closing multiple time a day after installing BAMF Ginger Remix 2.1.

Did you flash it from froyou to remix or did you have beta prior to 2.1? I had the same problem when I went form the beta to 2.1 and did a full titanium backup, which I was told can cause all sorts of issues when loading an entirely new Rom. So if you did a titanium back up, go back and reflash and do just a restore of apps and data but no system data. I did this and it worked fine.
Yup. Restored system from Titanium Backup. I will reflash.
Thanks fellas!

Can I just do a fresh install? Get my apps from Market and NOT use TB at all?

That is the "cleanest" way. Restoring from TB is sometimes more trouble than it's worth

I had the exact same problem, and reflashing did the trick. I'm convinced my original FC problems were because of my restoration of EVERYTHING with titanium. after my 3rd reflash, i just restored the apps i needed....and data on the apps that automatically installed through the market
google services framework crashing
When you refer to reflashing are you referring to the process of full wiping and reinstalling the 2.1 remix Rom. or reflashing the MR2 radio from hboot? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I have reloaded the ROM three times and am still getting this google services issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Just reflashing the ROM.
I did that and it still errors
I flashed the ROM without touching Titanium Backup and everything is working perfect now. No force closes. Titanium Backup was the problem. I won't be using it again.
no you can use it. say for instance if you flashed bamf gingerRemix and did a titanium backup of all user apps and system data. after installing you do just the missing apps and data.
NOW, say you flashed bamf standard just to check it out and see the difference..now you can run a full apps and system restore.
Its when you go from froyo to GB or if you had a completely different rom like LiquidRom and flashed Bamf. you wouldn't want to do a full restore. But if you went from Remix to just standard OR bamf remix 1.7 to bamf remix 1.8 you could still do a full restore.

I was having the same problem, and used this same solution. Very selective TB use is key!

its not a matter of selective, its knowing when you can use a full restore and when it will mess things up.

Nils' Business Sense 4

Was wondering if anyone has downloaded this Rom or could perhaps provide me with some guidance. I am currently on my first Rom, Scott's CleanRom Pro 4.5, this is a very good Rom and simple to install. My question is, Nils' states not to flash over another Rom, what does this mean and how do i go about doing this correctly. Additionally, he mentions not restoring apps, what then is the point of Titanium if not to restore apps. I would like to preemptively thank anyone who can help, also thank you Scott for a great Rom, and Nils' for the work put in on this new Rom.
Ok first boot into recovery , wipe everything . Then flash Nils Rom , and old software patch and kernel if you are s-on, otherwise you will have issues . You may have issues when restoring apps do to the android version and sense version and it may cause force closes not related to the Rom . When complete enjoy .

Sounds easy enough, as far as apps go I was more curious about non-system apps, i.e. Angry Birds progress
You should be fine restoring non system apps . If you have problems just uninstall and then re install . But you should be good to go .

I recommend restoring app only, then data, when switching ROMs.
Normally not a big deal, but I have had the occasional issue, and this seems to make it go silky smooth.
One extra step, less headache.

Thanks for the tip... I've overlooked the distinction of "system apps" in the past and avoided doing TB restores at all. Knowing that it's okay with some apps, and staging the data later will make things much smoother after my install of Nils' latest ROM build in a few minutes.

[Q] Push not working

Hello guys
I need your help here. So I flashed this new ROM, and the Google Push service seemed to have stopped working completely.
1. Gmail not pushing.
2. K9 push not working
3. Google play store not pushing as well
I have played around (sync on,etc) but I can't seem to find what's wrong with it. So I tried to restore a previous Nandroid backup, but the md5 checksum was mismatched!
I then tried to wipe everything, reflash new ROM etc, and yet the Google Push services aren't working as well.
Can anyone help? I am stuck, I can't go back due to md5 checksum error, and I can't move forward because I don't get Google Push services

Yup, done that, still doesn't work. Plus k9 push isn't working either, it seems that the whole push function is completely broken

Push seems an issue with XXDLI8 (at least in HyperGalaxy 1.8), just revert back to XXDLI7.
Yup I read about that too. The thing is I'm still on ICS, and I have never flashed a jb rom before. The error happened when I flashed hyper galaxy 0.7, which is a ics build.
I have given up on that rom, and I'm not on other rom and the push problem persists. I'm not sure what I did wrong, it's like the problem sticks despite me wiping cache, and everything else.

Maybe you can supply some more info, like what ROM and version are yiu using now, which baseband and what install procedure did you follow exactly?

Sure, here it goes. I have been flashing ROMs etc since 2010, so I am quite familiar with the concept, but this baffles me, before I can't seem to wipe everything clean and restart from point zero, because the problem sticks even after a new ROM is flashed. Is there more to this? Like modem/baseband etc? Thanks in advance for your help!
Baseband I9300XXLH1
Kernel Siyah s3 v 1.5 beta 4
Build no IMM76D.I9300XXBLG9
WanamLite ROM XXBLG V2.2
Thank you!!!
Ok I got it figured out already.
Previously I was on a full feature rom, then I flashed to a stripped down rom. I was short of a few apps, so i flashed additional apps, extracted from titanium etc, without checking their compatibility etc.
When I flash a new rom after that, I'll restore all system data via titanium, and that's why the problem persists. If I flash a new rom without restoring system data, then it's fine.
It's strange though, you'd think that titanium would be able to pick up on that if they aren't compatible.
Anyway problem solved and thanks for your kind assistance!

Yea I realised that with SGS 3. With HTC Desire on Froyo/GB, the issue was nearly non existent, I never had a single issue, be it from Sense to AOSP, back to Sense etc.
Flashing is quite a pain then, if system apps can't be restored via Titanium, having to re apply settings like ringtones, widgets etc?
u can make a nandroid backup and restore
do kernels affect push ?
sorry to bring up an old thread, but i didn't want to open a new one just for this
i've recently flashed Perseus 24.2 over Omega 27.2 and noticed that Push notifications dont work when the phone is sleeping.
to get it working, i have to open up the app (eg. Whatsapp, hotmail) and i get all of them at once.
did a nandroid rollback to stock kernel and it was working fine
Q. is there a specific setting to kernels that may affect push?
probably Android ID problem
i didn't want to open a new thread for same kind of problem.
Problem occured when i fresh install DLIB (with wipes and everything). After installation complete, i've restored apps + systemdata with titanium. While restoring, it asked me to whether use new android id or restore the old one in backup. I choose to restore old one. then problems started.
- I can't use Google Play on the web. It says "there is no phone connected to this google account"
- none of my notifications are working. and i assume it is about android id. (today using Titanium i switched to new android id but nothing changed)
any guesses?

[Q]Photo Enhancer for Sense

So I've flashed my fair share of roms mostly being sense 5 but then I tried Pac and moved then to viper. Love viper and have decided I'm gonna stick with it for awhile but suddenly the other day the photo enhancer stopped working. I belive it stopped working after I was cleaning up some stuff in the /0 folder that the Pac Rom had created. Did I delete something that is needed for the photo enhancer needs to run and how do I get it back? I dirty flashed viper back over and that didn't fix it. I also wiped caches, data, and system then did a fresh viper install and that didn't fix it. I still have the nandroid from before I started flashing anything. Could I wipe my internal and move the nandroid back and restore? I am so lost and have heard this has happened to other people. Please help.

I restored my stock nandroid that I kept around and the photo enhancer still did not work. However, I did not wipe the internal, but very skeptical that would work. If you give it a try let us know if it worked or not.
I haven't had the time to do this and still have to do some research. I don't know what will happen, when I wipe internal, as to how I'll get my nand back on the phone. But in the meantime I found this thread that offers another gallery and camera. The gallery has very similar photo enhancing options so it makes me happy and I don't prefer the camera it comes with so I just stock camera to take pictures and the new gallery to edit. Works for now.
