Hi,
before I have upgraded my firmware to CM10, I created an Nandroid-Backup with Stock 2.3.3 and CWM5.
Now after playing around with CM10, I have decieded to switch back to the old Stock 2.3.3 Android. I downgraded everything with the Sony Update Service, installed the CWM5 Recovery and after this, I restored my previous important Backup!
But after restoring my files, the boot stucks at the Sony Ericsson Logo (Before the blue LED).
What is wrong with my backup? I need my old data unfortunately very soon.
I really hope, that my problem can be solved in time!
Use flash tool

Well, Obviously your phones bricked. Theirs quite a few ways to un-brick your phone. If you are trying to go completely stock to be able to send it back to the manufacturer then Flash a base stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread rom. Go to this thread, It should help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742533

my phone keeps rebooting and cant read my sd card when i turn it on. Each time it reboots it runs the phone fine then 10 seconds later it reboots. I just installed CM 6.1.3 V 4.5.7 and was working great for a day. I installed busybox b/c my titanium backup wouldnt run for some odd reason. After that it kept rebooting and saying "Sorry! Process system is not responding." I cant run xrecovery or anything at this point. Can i flash with the V0.2.6 Flashtool. If so what do i flash? i have the .54 basebrand if that matters. PLEASE HELP
It's probably because you installed busybox. In thisROM you need not to install busybox and xRecovery as they are pre-installed. Their shortcuts have been removed.
You can flash back to the 2.1 SE and then try the CM6.1.3 v4.5.7 ROM out again.
can i use the same generic SE rom i flashed before
Have you made a backup of any previous ROMs using xRecovery?
If not, you can Flash back to the 2.1 SE ROM using SEUS. And then try the CM6.1.3 ROM again.
Yes i made a backup of CM 6.1.3 v01 gingerbread ROM. What can i do?
Go into xRecovery -> backup and restore -> restore... and restore your CM 6.1.3 v01 gingerbread ROM.
If it does not work, you can use SEUS.
sorry im not really up to par on what SEUS is. Can i just use the new flashtool and download the 2.1.435 SE version and flash that?
SEUS is Sony Ericsson Update Service.
You can use flashtool too.
okay im trying it out... THANKS!
Hello,
Today I thought, let's try out ICS! Found this guide (can't post outer links, search for "android advices ICS Android 4.0.1 XXKP2 " in google), and used it to update my phone to ICS.
Well, after trying out the rom, I would like to go back to my MIUI backup, rooted it, installed clockworkmod recovery and booted up the recovery mode. The recovery said "can't mount /cache/*" for all cache folders. So I couldn't restore my backup.
After reading some stuff I installed a recovery through Odin. Worked like a charm, no alerts of mounting failures. Restored my backup, but when it was rebooting it gave an "Kernel Panic - Upload mode" screen. Couldn't do anything, so put the battery out and back in.
After this I installed ICS again with the same steps as in the guide. This worked! Rooted and installed recovery again, no problems so far. Tried a fresh install of MIUI but with the same problems.
So I can flash ICS but I can't flash any other rom, what can be the problem?
Every help and tips are welcome!
Thanks in advance!
Same thing happened to me last nite, kernel panic, and im panic too. This happened after flashing that cm9 coz i just wanna try and see how cm9 look like and i know im not going to stick with it, just for trying. Now im back to miui.
What i did is i flashed back to stock rom, root, then flash miui, or any rom that you want. Very simple.
Rom : MIUI ICS XGT 'EXTENDED'
Kernel : Xcell-69X
Modem : XXKP8
Sent from Galaxy SII
I have the same problem I guess, tried ICS, went back to stock which I was using. Got Kernel panic upload mode several times, solution for this was flashing an older 2.3.6 version.
After this no more kernel panics...
But I can't flash any custom roms anymore.
My phone's working luckily but it doesn't work like it's supposed to

Kernel : stock kernel
Modem : stock modem

Did you make sure to flash back the old GB bootloaders? Restoring a backup wont flash them back.
hi i have bricked my ray. I got the ics update from seus the other day and rooted it and tried to flash a status bar mod via cwm and the status bar vanished so i went to restore my backup and i clicked my old gb backup instead of my ics backup by mistake and now it wont boot up it just stays at se logo. I tried flashing gb with flash tool still no luck then tried flashing free xperia unbrick ftf first then reflash gb still no luck. Flash to finishes flashing but at the reboot stage at the end the phone just doesnt boot past the se logo but pc companian picks up that a phone is atached. Please someone help me im beging u.
Hi there!
Do you have flashed GB Kernel fitting your GB Rom of the Backup you have restored?? You need the fitting kernel.
Download Fastboot oder Flashtool, get the kernel img an flash it to your phone.
Bye an good luck!
What ROM do you have installed then currently?
Install the proper kernel also according to this.
Full stock .ftf firmware files should also include kernel.
yea the firmware's iv been flashing have the kernel in them. I think i damaged the bootloader coz al the flashing was succesfull but the ray just wunt boot into android so damaged bootloader. Anyway i gave up and its in for repair lol.
So I had my Epic 4g Touch running on ics 4.0.4 root and it was working totally fine, UNTIL....I decided to install the cyanogenmod 10.1 rom to see how jellybean 4.2.2 is all about. I followed the instructions exactly as they were depicted on a youtube video, and used clockworkmod recovery v5.0.2.7 to backup my current rom (ICS 4.0.4). The 4.2.2 ran totally fine, until I tried restoring my data from the old rom I had before (I hope Im not confusing anyone). After restoring the data, the jellybean rom would stay stuck in the boot up screen. Then I tried just restoring the entire rom from backup, my phone would just boot right back into custom recovery mode after completing the backup restore. I then tried restoring my phone to the old 4.0.4 root that I had before, but I would just run into the same problems whenever trying to do a full backup restore or just a data restore (phone just cycling back into custom recovery mode)
Is there anything I could do???? I can still look into my phone's eternal sd card and see that the recovery files are still there. I just need to restore my phone back because it would be a lot of trouble finding contacts, redownloading apps, as well I had some vital memo pad files that I really need to get back for my business. IS THERE ANY WAY I COULD RECOVER MY PHONE DATA???? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Thanks guys. I found a solution. I just kept the new cyanogenmod 10.1 and used the nandroid manager app to restore all of my apps and the rest of my data individually. Worked great!!
Hey everyone,
I decided to update my phone via PC companion a little while back to the .167 update. It flashed fine and boots fine. But since I lost root I wanted to revert back to the .314 generic UK firmware. I've flashed it numerous times but it doesn't work and nor does the older .402! They both bootloop at the Sony blue wavey thing after the XPERIA logo goes and then restarts again! Can someone give me a quick guide on how to get out of the bootloop and revert the firmware?? Could it be the firmware I flashed was corrupt? I tried a different FTF file (German Generic .314) and that bootloops as well.
Try with a factory reset after firs boot
