Did anybody notice an improvement in battery life in the latest stock JB ROMs?
Personally, I feel like the 1.5 - 2 days that I used to get with ICS are still far from what we get through JB.

V20d was 12ish hours with all radios on, v20f (on my phone) is now 24-30 hours same setup. Now there are of course lots of power savers but I wanted to see battery on fully active L9.
How did you get V20H? I wasn't aware of an update beyond V20F and my phone is dying so quick because of the "cell standby" usage glitch.

Hey, I upgraded via LG Mobile Support Tool, not OTA or PC Suite, because I soft bricked my phone when i tried to update OTA. And yes I lost root after this

20d was great for me. Went to bed with 60% plus every night. I'm a light user but wifi is on 100%.
20f, same amount of usage, down to 50% within 90 minutes of unplugging from charger.

I wasn't able to do it either and got the binaries error until I deleted those 2.
I need some advice.
Few days ago i bought my P760 with 4.0.4 ICS.
I choose it because have read some opinions about "long battery life" and they were confirmed during my tests. Battery lasts for 2 days using 2h internet + 1h talks each day.
After updating from v10a to v20b battery last for about half of it.
I'm thinking with way choose to solve my problem - upgrade to v20h or downgrade do v10a. Anyone had some experience on both ROMs with battery?
20h has a very very long battery life on my device. So my advice: 20h
Could You explain what is "long battery life" in you meaning? How much do You use phone and how long it stays without chargeing?
I do too use the phone on a Constance internet web browsing and facebook during my work. With the new v20f i get about average of 5-6 hours on screen time. When i was on v10g i had 8hours on screen time. So there is a big different. I was thinking of downgrading back to 4.0.4 v10g soon. I thought the newest update would fix alot of thing, but i was wrong. From what the updates log decribe were only small adjustment. Also is it me or that i noticed the v20f does use more memory ram then ics?

Agreed.
I had the battery problems on V20D. I fixed them with a factory reset.
Upgraded to V20H, battery life is still good.
I charge once every 4-7 days, use it for WiFi and music mostly.

I've done everything under the sun as far as I'm aware.
Nothing has helped or improved battery life.
See if this help out with the battery problem. What i did was use the phone until i drain all the battery life out of it. Then let it fully recharge with the phone off over night. I did this and it actually improved.

Don't know how fast extremely is.. I used to get 12-14 hrs. on Simply honey with moderate usage (25+ calls, text , few hours on the web and very little wi- fi) If you aren't getting that recalibrate as the post said above.
Also, this is a Gingerbread ROM so the battery life isn't going to be as good as Froyo anyway.

If you have Simply Honey on it then you are rooted and free to flash anything. The first thing to do is go onto settings/about phone and see what version you have and then decide if you want to stay with a custom rom or just put it back to stock. There are numerous tutorial threads here and plenty of people willing to help you out.
Good luck.

Calibrate your battery!
- There seems to be a safety feature in Gingerbread or Samsung's version of Gingerbread that causes the battery to start draining when it reaches 100%. That said to calibrate your battery properly you must do it as soon as the battery full pop up appears.
- Download the app found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1024867 and follow the on screen instructions.
>>>>>>>>>>
The app referenced up there is really simple to use and works great.
Here's the SH thread with more instructions if needed - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021383.

I am on Blitzkrieg Gingerbread and my battery only lasts about 6 hours when I am not connected to a WiFi. I use the re calibrating app every morning, or when I have to recharge to 100%, and it does not seem to be helping any!!! I really do not want to downgrade to Froyo, but if that is what its going to take to get 14+ out of my battery, then I guess I will. Any suggestions?????

get to 100%
use a file manager
head to data/system
delete batterystat.bin or somtehing similar its at the top.
Delete that.
It has been said over and over again that on CM7 doing that helps, and it actually does, i never asked why just doing it helps.
I'm thinking its because its a 2.3 rom, buttttt idk.
just do it. nike.

Yes, it was leaked awhile ago.
If you want screen shots take a look at your phone now. Because there isn't much difference between this and 6.12.173. Nothing obvious anyways. I've been running it for awhile.

Did you perform the OTA? I'm not exactly sure but I heard that it fixes the sleep of death.

first thing first, get a battery monitor app like betterbatterystat so you know the type of process that is causing the drain - app, kernel etc...once you have that information, drill down from there.

Sleep of death...that's the name. Thanks I couldn't remember what they called it. Yes guys the sleep of death is what I hhave.
Now let me get this right. This is not happening to none of your phones (non rooted)?
Second, not that I'm not grateful and all but why would a OTA work when this is my second phone in a row brand new from stock that all of sudden starts to do the same thing out of the blue? Also my phones says I have the latest version. E97010o
And as far as apps it not a app memory issue. I eliminated all possible apps I have downloaded. It never happens in use only When I try to bring it out of sleep.

It's the KDZ you have. ICS is no where near as smooth as JB. The reason being that JB has Project Butter, and the ICS ROM for our phone was poorly designed/handled/released.
If you flash up to JB again, you'll have that buttery goodness once again ^-^

Flashing with R&D tool comes with risk. You can get a security error, won't operate, or crash while flashing. Having & using cwm is the safety route IMO.
Plus using the offline flash probably won't fix the inverted u-boot (LG logo).

Im sorry, I was at work.. didn't really have much time to explain how I got it fixed or who helped.. but yes, thanks Kuma for the help. I appreciate it.
But there wasn't really anything wrong with the phone.. I tried to unlock the bootloader.. flashed the kdz, did all the shenanigans, but couldn't get it to unlock, and I was stuck with the wonky touch screen on the kdz i was using. So all I really could do is flash radio.zip and touch fix, and then do a restore of a backup I found on this forum using cwm, which Kuma helped me do.
Now im on v10g ICS, and the battery life so far is amazing.. I just am having a really hard time not letting this touch screen stuff bother me. Sometimes its so unresponsive.. I wouldn't mind going back to JB, but I wanna keep this battery life. Im just having a hard time believing there's this much of a difference between ICS and JB.. my phone normally would only last 12 hours, then i'd have to charge it again.. Now, its been off the charger for almost 12 hours and its not even at 60% .. so do you guys really think if I went back to JB, and uninstalled the same bloatware I uninstalled now, the battery would be significantly worse?

Now, its been off the charger for almost 12 hours and its not even at 60% .. so do you guys really think if I went back to JB, and uninstalled the same bloatware I uninstalled now, the battery would be significantly worse?

Try it out. If you're not happy with it go back to ics. You will never know unless you try it for yourself.

Trial & error
You are the best judge
Jellybean isn't that bad IMO, but I'm already due for a new battery. My phone is already a year old. Something to remember about Jellybean, the default settings for wifi(if turned on) , is to stay on when the phone is a sleep. However you can change it.
To improve responsiveness on ice you need to tweak the build.prop. I can't think of the tweak right now. Anyways I used android tuner app to fix it and I never had problems again. However, the app has updated and changed since. Some of the free tweaks aren't free anymore. I'll try to find the code you need.
Oh and thanks for giving me my props

Yeah idk.. I just know when I had stock rom from metropcs, my battery life would last maybe 12 hours of decent use.. now its lasting probably close to 24 hours without having to charge it. But if you could help me possible fix the responsiveness would be nice.
Also, I asked in another thread, which I dont think anyone knows the real answer, even after searching for it I couldnt find it.. but since im on 10g ICS, it keeps popping up and telling me to upgrade to JB.. is there anyway to remove the update notifications? I've read a few sites.. they mostly just say to freeze 2 things using root, and I tried that.. didn't seem to work. Just sucks, cause everytime I unlock my screen, it tells me to install it

I can't help you with the constant update nagging. There are a couple of threads on the subject, but they never lasted. However, I haven't tried them all, There's another option besides messing with those two apps but I can't remember.
To fix responsiveness add these tweaks to the build.prop
# Increases touch responsiveness
debug.performance.tuning=1
# Increases touch & video something lol
video.accelerate.hw=1
# Increases scrolling responsiveness
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150

I feel like an idiot now. Tired of waiting for KK, I flashed Mahdi like three days ago and got bootlooped, which took me a whole day to fix. Coming from Samsung phones, this phone had the first stock rom that I was comfortable using so I might go back but its almost 2 GB which is a tad bit too large for a phone with no expandable.

madhi is a great ROM, but you Must flash the PATCH for your device, before restarting.
It looks and plays amazing but I miss some of the cosmetic stock features. I guess ill try stock and probably end up aosp. Do you think stock 4.4 will improve AOSP functionality over time, with the kitkat kernel and all?

Aosp is definitely tough to get off of. The fluidity of it, the size of the os itself and the overall professionalism it brings to the device is awesome, in comparison to the cartoon style lg has put on.
But I digress... Stability, camera, multimedia playback and most of all battery life on stock lg rom all outweigh what aosp gives me.
I came from a nexus 5, I'm quite content with stock but might pick up next gen nexus tab to tinker with (that's the tough part, I like flashing a lot haha)

Is it really true that you get bettter battery life on stock? If yes, then that's shocking. The main reason I went to AOSP on Samsung phone was to get better battery life, its hard to believe that its the opposite here.

For my device and my needs yes, I have got overall better battery life on stock, that's even compared to custom kernels and tweaking values. Then again a 3000mah battery should be giving better battery life then most. On average I can hit an hour screen on for every 10-12% of battery usage.
I mean common sense would kick in here, if I'm gaming it'll drop more, but standby time (WiFi & data on) is amazing. Not even using greenify anymore tbh

I'm curious if like the HTC One, I'll have to have stock recovery in order to install the update or if it'll work with a custom recovery. Sigh life is so hard lmao :silly::silly::silly:

Swell! It's serving me D803T20C_00.kdz, which I assume, the T is for Telus/Bell. Think I might hold off on upgrading until they can do a flash over custom recovery with root.

Doing that now. 635mb of KitKat. Waiting for it to reboot after the second install.
I updated this morning. All worked well. I prepared by going back to stock recovery and removing xposed module last night. I don't know if it was necessary, but I didn't want to take any chances. I kept the phone rooted though. After the update, I'm still rooted, so all is good! Haven't had a chance to test it out too much though, but for those waiting, the update process was pretty smooth.

You kept the device rooted after taking OTA? Did you delete any system apps or use "survival mode" in SU?
Also what root method did you use? Thanks
Yup still have root access after OTA. Perfect.
How did you keep it rooted? I'm currently rooted with Xposed installer installed. I'm also using G2 Exposed to shrink my nav bar. Do I need to uninstall these apps before updating to kitkat?

I did a factory reset last night, which brought me back to stock recovery as well. I then checked to make sure I was still rooted, which I was. If not, I've used Kingo Root (http://www.kingoapp.com/index.htm) and it's worked great for me. Anyway, I was rooted, so all was good. I made sure Xposed was not installed, and I didn't install anything else, just waited until this morning. I checked for the update and away it went. After the update, I was still rooted. That's all I did. I didn't touch SU. I'm now in the process of making a backup using Titanium Backup, and then I plan to remove some Rogers bloat. I hope that helps.

As far as I am aware of, yes, you will need to uninstall any xposed modules you have and xposed itself.
Can someone else confirm please?

I didn't uninstall the Xposed modules, but I did disable them and then uninstalled Xposed before installing the OTA.
As a bonus, Tap to Pay is enabled in the 4.4.2 ROM, unlike for our American friends.
