Q:Help Unspecified Error - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I rooted my HTC last night with a couple of hiccups but got there eventually. Now I am trying to transfer files from computer (Win8, and I have tried Win7) to my HTC (the ROM I want to run) I see the copying pop up window that Win8 and 7 give you but no file transfer takes place it just hangs there. When I try to move a file from the HTC to the computer I get an unspecified error. File transfers worked fine last night in the rooting process but now I get nothing.

1. Try a new cord
2. Make sure your not using a hub
3. Usb 3.0 has been reported to have problems
4. Have you tried transferring a small file on WiFi

I am attempting to use AirDroid to transfer files now here is the issue I am having, there is no SD Card in the HTC so it appears there is no place to put or take files from. What am I doing wrong? Moved USB cable from hub to computer still nothing. Looking at the root of the HTC from File Explorer it says SD Card is not mounted, is that the problem? If so how do I mount it. Thanks for the help Now I am being told there is not enough room I have to assume it is some kind of mount/unmount issue

Clockwork right now was using TWRP and rooted I did load a Kernel last night only because the instructions I read said you would lose root if you didnt. Bulletproof is the one I used could that be causing the issue

First go into your settings, scroll to storage, tell me what the phone says.

Also you may need to boot into recovery and see if recovery can read your storage. You may just need to install a
Stock Rom to give you a fresh start.

This is interesting I just went to download the bets version of Swift Key Cloud and I got
An SD Card is required to Download so nothing is seeing it now

Really? I'm missing something then. Because you are stock, rooted, with a custom recovery running bulletproof kernal. Your recovery can't mount and read anything the card. The phone doesn't recognize internal memory. Do a factory reset. The only other option I can think of is to use the Usb to go option to load a new Rom and try to see if maybe you had a bad download with the kernel

USB to go? Option
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
When I look at the root directory with Root Explorer I see sdcard however it tells me it is not mounted so in not so technical terms it looks like a sheet of paper as opposed to a file folder

Yes, there a cord you can buy that allows you to attach a usb stick to the phone through the charging port. If you still have the kernel file on your device I would recommend, redownloading- replacing the kernel file and installing through recovery. If not, you need Usb 2 go to get a different kernel loaded up and to return completely to stock if it turns out to be a hardware issue.

Btw I believe that you had a bad kernel flash, that's why your storage disappered. Reflash a kernel and you shouldbe good to go.

Okay so I tried to push a ROM to the SDCARD and it had appeared to work. I went into TWRP and it was there to flash only I got a bad zip error
Now I tried again and got cannot stat (file name) no such file or directory

The worse thing about this is the darn HTC Sync Manager sees the phone fine

Try to push a new kernel.

Bought a Nook Tablet (16GB) already bricked. Need help please!

OK I bought the nook already bricked, so if it can't be fixed no big deal since I knowingly bought it bricked. I'll try anything...
From what I can see is that it does not have any partitions. Not even mmcblk0..I have tried pushing an mmcblk0 from an 8gb Nook (I know I have a 16gb) but it fails saying "not enough space" I noticed it says I only have 455 mb when I type df-h in ADB shell. I've tried recreating the mmcblk0 but nothing. It will not even boot CM7 or CM10 from sdcard.
I have tried almost everything but if anybody is willing to help I'm all ears.
P.S. I'm going to try and bring Liquid Smooth to the nook if I can unbrick this thing.
Thanks for reading!
Did you boot into SDcard from power-off state and by inserting a powered USB cable? Many NTs, like mine, can only boot into SD using this method.

Perhaps you can try the CM10 SD image from http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/, just in case your current CM7 or CM10 SD card is not bootable due to improper format or content.

The partition information will be different in the 8 and 16gb models for a did image, but you can pull a 16 and alter it down to a 8gb and vise versa, this is apply able to most devices in one way or another.
Anyway back on point, you would need to start using a lot of Linux if you are not already to do this work but it can be done via virtual machine up to a point. I would suggest your start is, get to boot to a recovery mode with adb compiled in, from there you can start a rebuild of the internal memory using backups and dd' pulls from other devices.
My debrick thread covers the theory of using files on disk(backups) as block devices for the purpose of rebuilding partition structures, I've also posted arm compiled tools for the purpose or rebuilding the emmc/sdcard partition structures.
Oh, if you backed up the internal memory using dd and transfer it to another machine you could possibly figure out what went wrong too,

I would have expected at a minimum for Cyanoboot (flashing_boot.img) to come up right after the flashing "N" and before the black screen (the boot sequence being MLO, u-boot.bin, flashing_boot.img and finally boot.img (CM10) assuming these files are all present on your SD 1st partition and not corrupted for some reason).
Have you tried the method from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562130 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663836?? I usually do not suggest these as it's not clear if/how they preserve the to-be-rescued NT's device-specific data in the /rom partition and /factory partition, but if your NT partitions are deemed totally shot, you probably have nothing to lose trying them out.

I don't own a nook but I know recovery so these ideas of mine are pointers, the next step is get hold of a partition table of the original nook, the same as your device, there is a few text copies of it's layout out there, from other I have some tools to turn those text files into useable partition data. From there we Use the data on the sdcard to fix your boot in on internal emmc/sdcard/nand.
My recovery link has more info for those that like to read.

I'm using revolutionary CWM and I did not do a backup.
Yes, I have read the thread by imadork8317, and the one by peter9991 and chi-o none of them seem to be helping.
I've tried using factory reset, does nothing. Going into recovery I have formated everything there. cache/data/sd-ext/sdcard/system. I've gone into Revolutionary and chosen wipe data/factory reset. Nothing.
All I want to do it get it back to stock and I'll not try to root it again. Help me! Should I do a RUU and if so, which one?
So what were you doing before you ended up where you are now.
You cannot run ruu, there is not one available for hboot1.58 , at least I haven't seen it. If you were s off we could
I've never used cwm recovery on this phone, but there should be an option to flash a Rom or zip from sd card.
It sounds like you've wiped everything and didn't flash a new Rom. Simple fix.

Android 4.2.2 added the ability for multiple users. All of your downloads/backups/files are now under a folder called 0(for the first user). Or at least, they should be. You may need to manually relocate them there in order for TWRP to see it. If you're wanting to go back to a 4.1.2 ROM, you need to delete the folder 0.
If Android has already moved all of your files to folder 0, you need to pull off what you want to back up onto your computer then delete the folder. Don't just move them out of the folder. When I ran into this issue, I did that--simply moved everything out of file 0 and back into normal internal storage. Apparently, when you delete file 0 it gives the command to wipe all internal storage. At least, it did for me. So move everything to your computer first, delete, then move back.

[Q] Files disappeared after upgrading to Omega v51

Hey there. I've just been updated my omega rom from 4.1.2 (can't remember the rom version) to Omega V51, after backing up via clockworkmod.
Now the rom is working perfectly, except the fact that my data disappeared. The storage is almost full in my phone (can't update/download apps), but it seem to be empty using file explorer,
When trying to restore through recovery mod, I can choose the file I created, but of course it won't let me (md5 missmatch).
How can I restore my data??
Thanks in advance.
Look in Device\data\media..... there u will find the content of your sdcard.
just move everything to drive 0 exept 0 , obb and legacy.
There is something written about why and how they changed our internal sd. use search. Ive asked the same question couple of days ago.
Hope this helps.

Are u sure you looked in the data folder on your device? Not the data folder on your internal memory (sd)

I'm sure in 100%. By the way, when selecting all the files and folders in the device (via es explorer) it show about 3.15 GB, but in the phone settings it says just 387 available storage...
In ES explorer turn on root explorer... else you will see an empty data folder on your device.
This folder cant possebly be empty cause this is where android stores your app data and so on
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Still empty....
Well my friend... yhen you have a very special problem if in fact your data folder is empty.... :0
Ofcourse you did load system as r/w when you selected root explorer?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Sure...
I'm reflashing the rom now... and when getting in to the recovery "choose zip from sdcard" I can see all my missing files..
I know... that is exactly the problem i am talking about....
In android you see that your internal sd got renamed to drive 0 and your files are missing
But when you enter a "old" recovery you will see your old internal sd and your missing files
Your old internal memory got placed in device/data/media.
Which you can only see when you load your system as r/w.

Anyone...?
Ok..
Go to your app drawr...tap SU app and check if you got root.
If you dont get any error message i guess you got root.
Then,
Go to esfile explorer. Assuming you have got the latest version go to settings-tools-rootexplorer.
If it says on then tap on rootexplorer TEXT not the on/off button.
A menu pops up.
Select: load r/w (something like this mine is in dutch)
Choose r/w
Confirm ok
Browse to device/data/media. You do this by tapping the / button in top left corner.
You should be able to see files in data by now...
Then in the media folder select all the files exept 0 , obb and legacy and place them in internal memory 0

You could try to flash a previous version of omega.
Then root your phone
Then flash the super user update thats in the link i posted
Then flash omega newest version.
It appears that version broke and keeps breaking your root.

i followed the steps but not sure where it went wrong for me
step 2. that would be the 13.3.2.4_rollback for thor correct? (i have 7 inch fire hdx)
was not sure where to flash this - i used rom slot 2
that installs 13.3.0.9_user into rom slot2 (i dont understand why we still have to update to 13.3.1.0 i guess
13.3.0.9 is not vulnerable?)
following the rest of the steps and rebooting kindle fire system recovery comes up
would be nice to put a link to 13.3.1.0 stock into the OP i found it in the forum)
i did reboot kindle (didnt dare to do reset to factory defaults)
that gets me back to 13.3.0.9
retrying the steps and after reboot rebooting into safestrap i see
openrecovery script installing zip (13.3.1.0)
if i let this continue and reboot i get a flashing screen and then a black screen
what am i doing wrong
p.s. luckily i have safestrap so rom slot 1 and stock still work

Is the file supposed to be flashed to the stock slot or to one of the other rom slots?

when you do that part do not pay attention to what the firmware says it is the build.prop has been modified to allow the device to accept the update that you put on the SD card

HDX 7, thor: https://s3.amazonaws.com/kindle-fire-updates/update-kindle-13.3.1.0_user_310079820.bin
HDX 8.9, apollo: https://s3.amazonaws.com/kindle-fire-updates/update-kindle-14.3.1.0_user_310079820.bin
i put the 3.1.0 file in the internal storage of my HDX 7 on v 3.2.4 and when i try to initiate the update in settings, it doesn't do anything? any help is appreciated.
edit: nvm got it working, somehow my wifi was connected to some random wifi and you need to turn it off before you can do the update or so call downgrade to 3.1.0.
after I updated 3.1.0 and rebooted, the current version still states 13.3.0.9 under the device menu. Should this have changed to 13.3.1.0? I also tried to update again and received an error in the update boot.
I'm still able to boot into all my rom slots.
thanks.
Great! Thank you so much! I was able to roll back to stock 3.1.0 from nexus rom.

have you gone back and checked every place you've already posted this question? And see if anybody has answered you. Something tells me if you're having problems just getting the file onto your tablet. You may not have any business doing any modifications quite yet. Unless you are all about false warranty claims.
I'm no pro but I've rooted everything I own . I only repeated problem here because other thread specified this one for problems. I was on nexus rom 2. I have no problem putting files where there supposed to go but this problem of not being able to copy bin from download folder to root of SD card is puzzling. Just wondered if anyone else is having same problem or alert me to what may wrong. Boy you like to ***** more than help maybe you should back off if you have nothing

Have you tried using adb push?
If that doesn't work, the only other thing I can think of is doing a factory reset.
Yes and I get a read only file system error. I stated this on original thread

possible bad download? Have you can you move every other file around? I own 3 HDX I personally have not run into any issues as you have described. And have not read of them either.if you do not have any xposed framework installed or anything else that may cripple your system as far as frozen apps exceteraI may consider a factory reset also.
The only thing I did prior that may have caused my problem was after I got nexus rom2 running I tried to flashify twrp on 1324 and it booted to blank screen. Upon reboot safestrap came up and I booted into rom and everything was fine I thought. I was in stock rom. I was able to copy in safestrap the 310 bin file but disappeared on boot. When I adb to push file onto sdcard it comes up with read only file system error..So im stuck in 1324 rollback unable to manipulate any file.. Should of just left it alone till everything settled in the Twrp thread. Thanks for your help ..My bad Thanks again and didnt mean to attack you jim.. Ill work it out or not My stupidity..Thanks again
Sorry if it's been asked before but does it work on13.3.2.7 with necus ROM 2.0.2 installed
