Is there application that show a low brightness clock when screen turned off such Glance Screen feature on Nokia Lumias considering both Lumia and Droid Razr use the same AMOLED display.
i'd be interested to know about this as well. I know there's motorola's active display technology, which somewhat has the same concept I think, but not sure..
I would very much like to see this feature coming in android!

No glance screen and Symbian screensavers are available for android family.
If available like DOCK CLOCK, they consume large battery.
WHY NOBODY ANSWERS THAT

This is old thread, But I want to share glance app in my phone: Glance Plus. It is new app, but I think it is so good.
The app allows you customize GUI and have 'in pocket mode'. It can also show glance screen when notification arrive, very useful
I have used the app for a week, it appears to have made no difference to the amount of battery consumed

Dear members,
coming freshly to Android and the Xperia S, I've got some questions for which I didn't find an answer, yet, and hope you can somewhat enlighten me.
The phone is LTi26, running 4.0.4, rooted on a reseller contract of Germany's D2/Vodafone.
regarding the Walkman-App, am I just to blind or noobish, or is there really no option to empty the list of currently playing tracks?
at home, I've got EDGE at best and use WiFi, but on the run, I can get 3G/UMTS. Is there a simple toggle/switcher, I can change networks with a single tap, instead of always digging through the menu?
regarding GPS, if it's off and I turn it on, there's always a window popping up, telling me costs may apply, data may be send, etc. Any way to dismiss this window forever?
is it possible to remap the camera button in certain situations? F.e., when the display is off and locked, I'd love to be able to give it a double-tap and have it turn on the camera's flash. Also, if the currently visible and active app isn't the camera app, it would be nice to use this button as a 'back'-button, so I can easily push it with my pinky.
I've read, that AMOLED displays can save power, when they display mostly dark/black colors, IIRC the Xperia S has no AMOLED, but is there a similar possibility? I'm not interested in fancy wallpapers, so it wouldn't hurt me much.
I'm currently happily using the ssLauncher in replacement of Sony's, but in the widget selection, some things don't show up, f.e. the music widget and the 'extras' (on click toggles). Is this a problem of this particular launcher and is there any way to still use them in this launcher?
I've seen a thread with a video, showing how to prick open the phone and be able to exchange the battery, but are there also compatible batteries available which feature a higher capacity?
I've installed the drobear SSHd (no links for noobs), but I'm not able to connect, it always gets a timeout. Not compatibe/config issue(client in question is my Gentoo desktop)?
Other than that, I must say, I'm currently quite pleased with this phone and Android in general. Coming from Maemo, there are still some things I'd like to be able to, but so far it's a good start and so far I'm glad, I didn't opt for the One S or the Droid.
Thanks for your help, regards,
S.D.R

on Stocklauncher or the most Relpacements you can ad a Aplicationsshortcut to the launcher... an there are many Apps/Widgets in the market to bring you with one click to the Datasettings... but there is, as far as i know no way to switch with one click from 3g fo 4g - only with to clicks... also for WFI an/of you can set a Aplication to Home - the Homelauncher got a Widget for - it works with one klick . also in the Market it will gives many apps/widgets for,

Yeah, I've got NotificationToggle (or something like that) running, which get's the job done, except for GPS.
I need GPS for some things Tasker, if on but inactive GPS doesn't do to much harm, that'll be an option, though imho not perfect.

While I'm at it, I'm missing FM transmit functionality, as in I had it with my old phone(N900). As far as I've read, it seems, the chip really only allows receiving in hardware, so not a fully functional module with the transmitting functionality disabled, correct? If that's the case, does someone have experience with fm transmission, as in what pieces of hardware are needed? If it's rather small, I'd love to get on of the bottom pieces, the one with the xperia writing on it, add a 3.5mm jack and the hardware and add it to the top of the phone, but I guess that's wishful thinking?!
Hi all. I just got my Lumia 920 today and am loving it so far (except for a yellow tint my hardware buttons have). I have never used any Windows phones before and had a couple of questions. Is there a decent app that will let me put a clock live tile on the homescreen? Also, does anyone know if you can put your own custom notification sounds on it? Thanks for any help anyone could offer.
You should be able to modify sounds in your Settings.
As for the LIVE Tile for a Clock? I would say, give it a Month and I am sure something will come out. Just recently we got the SDK (well, the general public). Also takes forever to get these App's accepted.

Plenty of Clock apps in the store. If they say "With a live tile" then they should have the ability to be pinned to start.
For anyone with the HTC, the HTC app may be pinned and will display a nice large digital time.
I just got my 920 Friday. I too want a live clock that has big numbers. But I tried every clock in the store and so far none have a 'live' tile. I'm assuming that some devs will make them soon now that they finally have the SDK. In fact the HTC clock states that 'due to limitations' it's not live so I expect it will probably be one of the first.
I'm hoping for the same with a calendar. The clock and the calendar are the two things I dislike about my phone. But give it a month or two.

I love this about my HTC 8X. I wish this app was available for other Windows Phones or something similar to it. Just like the other member pointed out, the SDK has only been out for a few weeks. Should start seeing some more apps popping up.

It's unfortunate that there have to be exclusive apps.
I mean, no one is going to buy an HTC phone just because it comes with a big clock live tile.
What's the benefit of exclusivity?
Why not help further the entire Windows Phone community?
I have the HTC 8X and I quite like the integrated clock / weather tile.
I would just just as happy with two, separate, tiles.

They seem to be a much better place to talk about Windows Phone.
I have also found that you can only add custom ringtones (not notifications).

Hi people, I am a Windows Phone user since last 3 years. I loved it a lot and I had quite an interest in these sort of gadgets.. So I decided to make beautiful apps for the platform!
Fast and smooth even on 512MB RAM. Tested on LUMIA 520!!
Strawberry Weather, the app shows you current weather, with next 5 days forecast in details (I mean quite the details).
You can let the GPS locate you or can set location manually. Can choose the units (Metric/Imperial)..
The places you search, sync with all your Windows 10 devices. There is no hassle of searching and favoriting places. You just search and they sync with devices. If you want to remove a place, you can. Simple!
The live tile updates hourly and if there are any upcoming alerts, a toast informs you!
Personalize with themes and icons!
Give it a try, I'm sure you will like it!
https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9NBLGGH4NQ3T
Well, I think my app stands against other weather apps quite well! It is completely free!!
And that's not even the best part of it! I plan to update it frequently with better features and evolve into ultimate weather experience, it's just the beginning!
If you showed support, I will get encouraged more and will make different kinds of apps! Thank you! And don't forget the name 'Strawberry Corp'!

Would you like yo share how was your experience? What you liked and what you didn't? Any feature recommendations? It's my first app. With only 2 months of experience in coding. So, I'm a bit nervous how it performs for users and how do they like it! I'm glad that it loads the weather faster than Microsoft weather app though! Esp on lower end devices. Hoping to hear from you soon!
I am sorry
I have it installed and it has worked well in lumia 520
I have some suggestions for you:
1. You can add more languages example (spanish)
2. Add more icons weather
3. time
4. Pin in the screen with icons because now I only see information
5. battery%
I think asking a lot but in the future could be much better
and have more downloads.
With two months as a developer you have taken the first step into the world of applications and just follow what you like

No you are not asking a lot. I have some of these things on my mind. Thanks for the feedback. I will update with these features as soon as possible!
Strawberry Weather v1.2.14
* Now you can set Strawberry Weather to show detailed lockscreen status.
* A new wide tile design to match the lockscreen status.
* Set the duration between live tile updates!
* Faster GPS lock, as well as improved performance. Battery consumption which already was pretty low is cut down to half of it now!
See the attachments for screenshots. Hope you like it!
Strawberry Weather v 1.2.38
* Toast - Now we tell you to take umbrella with you, if it is going to rain!
* Setting to set bottom command bar to compact or minimal!
* New theme creater UI! created themes sync with your devices!
I must say I am quite satisfied with my app. I never got to test my app with other apps (I have MSN weather and Acuuweather just to test my app against), as it was a very hot summer where I live and every app would show similar temperature reading sans the difference of 1-2 degrees. Sky would be clear with a few coulds at the most! But yesterday was something else. I and one my friend had plans to go over to my another friend's home yesterday evening. And as usual, my app gave me a toast notification, saying it would rain in the evening. So, I checked both the apps, MSN weather and Accuweather too and surprisingly they showed clear sky and at the most it would go cloudy. But my app was showing, light rain/ moderate rain/ thunderstorm throughout the night. I chose to believe in my own app, and took umbrella, raincoat with me. And boy, it rained.. Followed by a thunderstorm. So much that we had to spend the whole night there at friend's home! Had I not believed, I would have catched cold or fever today!
Thank you so much..

Ever wish that LG had given the V10/V20 more widgets in the second screen? Well, wish no more! BoredSigns adds many more widgets to your SignBoard (get it? SignBoard --> BoredSigns?), ones you may need and ones you may not.
The best part about BoredSigns? It doesn't need root! That's right; you can get some brand new widgets on your completely Stock V10 or V20. In the future, ADB may be necessary for certain widgets, but right now, you don't need your computer at all.
Current widgets:
— Information
— Weather
— Image
— Navigation Bar
This app is open source! If you aren't willing to pay $0.99 to buy it, feel free to build it for yourself. I only ask that it not be re-distributed without substantial modifications (i.e. more than changing the theme and name).

Search by the package name in the play store.
Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
I bought it in the play store (I want to support any development for the 2nd screen).
I have to thank you just for the simple fact that at first, I didn't know how to run it... so I went into the 2nd screen options. I had no idea that I had other widgets that I could run. I never thought to tap the "..." on "Show when main screen on" so I have been stuck with the basic options this whole time. Worth my $1.05 right there.
So, after using it for a few minutes, I noticed the persistent notification for BoredSigns, so I long-pressed it and turned off all notifications. Will this negatively affect the operation of the app? I did notice that when I swiped my notification shade down, or when switching between widgets, the 2nd screen options would come on, so I restarted the phone. It doesn't seem to be doing that anymore, but I did have to toggle weather on and off a few times to get a real location and not 100*F in Philadelphia.
Bonus question... where can I find out more about the "yet unreleased AOSP implementation of the 2nd screen?"
Found the perfect image for the second screen a mod one of the best football team in the world...perfect fit and color !
Happy user here....thank you again for this :highfive:
So someone suggested I do a navigation bar widget. After lots of Java reflection (the actual tool, not thinking about my life with Java), I went with a simple Accessibility Service.
Because of that, these functions will be available:
- Back
- Home
- Recents
- Split Screen
- Power
- QS Pulldown
- Notification Pulldown
If there are any other (simple) buttons you might want, suggest them. I'll add them in if I can.
Here's what it looks like right now:
Sadly Samsung have removed the led notification light from their newer Galaxy phones, any recommendations for a good led notification light software.
Thanks
