[Q] a problem in Removing Bloatwares from HTC >>>> - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good morning XDA ...
I have a problem in removing bloatwares from my HTC One S, i have an HTC One S "S4 Ville Model" with Stock 4.1.1 and ROOTED with TWRP as a Custom Recovery, i have installed Titanium Backup and i ended up removing some bloatwres like : 7Digital, Lookout ... ,it's OK they had gone away, but when i Reboot my Device they came back !!!
So is there any way to fix That !!!?
Cordially.

Ok for it to stay deleted, you will need to boot into recovery and wipe cache, dalvik and just for kicks, fix permissions after uninstalling/removing.Then your aggrevating apps should be gone now.Always make sure to back everything up first.

Thanks for the help, but one question do i need to wipe cache and dalvik before or after removing bloatwares ?.

After you remove the apps,so you clear all the garbage out of the folders. So it does'nt reappear again.

I flashed FlappJaxx Beta 3 and had a bad down load or something so anyway tons of reboots and nothing just the non stop vibrate.. well i i finally got it back to the down load screen after pulling the battery several times. and got it Odin back to unrooted and turn on followed the unroot instruction well i left it stock and have had same issue where i click something and it flashes and just vibrates over and over until i pull battery.. well is this phone dead is there a fix?
I odin back again and same thing im going to odin back to stock again then do a stock root and flash another room but its doing the stupid reboot over and over vibrate thing even with the non-rooted stock rom. i just can't seem to find any direction on how to fix this or is it just a lost cause. wanted it to hold on till Note 2 hit shelves but looks like a s3 in my futures.
OK didnt work still FC and boot looping this time i installed Kies and put in download mode and updated the firmware and im getting same thing. GOSH DOGGIT hahaha.. Yea i need some advise i tried everything ive read i must be missing something somewhere.
i guess no one has ever had this before? still no solution i have tried everything format the internal disc but want to know if i do that will i be able to flash odin back to stock any help there?

First of all, I'm no pro at this stuff but I feel your pain.
It sounds like you are getting stuck in a boot loop of sorts.
What I would do if I was you, after flashing a rom, go back into Recovery mode on the phone and clear out the cache partion, wipe Dalvik cache, and then wipe data/factory reset. After that, reboot your phone - it should start up normally. This is what I do to my phone to get it to function as it should.
Hope that helps
i went in to the advance tab and formatted everything hahah.. it juts wiped and odin back to stock again bout to wipe it and try to odin root see if i can get it done. worth a try ive tried to much stuff im bout to take phone out get my 338 tape to a zombie target and have some fun!

Agreed ...
When returning to stock via Odin ...you must reboot into your recovery and wipe data and factory reset the device prior to rebooting.
Even though you wiped prior to flashing the stock Odin .tar image.
These devices stay dirty even after wiping data on occasion ...g

Boot into your recovery, and "fix permissions "...then reboot.
That should clear up the rest of the issues ...g

oh really? wow i didnt even think about that im wiping again and flashing odin to stock but this time after it boots i will wipe factory reset. then root factory reset and fix permissions. thank for the help!
Always welcome ....
Fixing permissions is overlooked a lot ...
And the wrong permissions will cause FC's all over the build ..
I always fix permissions after any flash or modification ....it's just a good habit to get into ...IMHO ...g

[Q] Android system updating

Hi guys. I'm having an issue. Every time I reboot my phone, instead of playing the Verizon 4G LTE logo and sound. I get a message saying Android system updating and goes into the lock screen. Everything works fine but that message is annoying me. Is there any way I can get everything to reboot like it suppose to. Mods: Rooted by Exynos exploit, Multi-window mode(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028535), System UI mod(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030539)(its the basic one found in attached files). I have titanium backup, busy box, and ES file explorer as my root friendly apps and bloatware removed. Please help.
Basically every time you reboot your phone its wiping /cache for some reason. Check to see if it's an app or boot into recovery and wipe cache there, then reboot your phone again.
Sent from my rooted, and unlocked Vzw note 2 running beans Rom! U mad?
I went into the recovery and wipe the cache and its still doing it. I believe it did it when I did the SystemUI mod.

when you wipe cache all the apps have to populate the cache(hince android is upgrading). you most likely have a app set to wipe cache on each boot which will cause this.

[Q] Android Revolution HD - System UIDs Inconsistent

Hi!
Upgraded my phone yeasterday to Android Revolution HD 32.0. Did Full wipe and istalled the rom. When done and reboot of the phone i get this message right before the pincode do unlock the phone.
*System UIDs Inconsistent*
UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition on your device will be unstable.
*I'm Feeling Lucky*
I did wipe data/dactory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
The earlier rom i come from was ARHD 25.0. Have i done any wrong or do i have to make the steps once again to let go the message?
Hope anyone can help me with this one
It happens sometimes. There's no fix but to wipe (again)

I did the wizard today but still get that message The phone is running smooth and everything works. Just ignore the message?
One more thing, the sms tone is not working, the phone only vibrates. It worked on earlier ARHD Rom.
Try another rom is all you can do and read the rom thread see if others have the problem .

Hmm.
It's still there strangely.
I'm going to run a few things in SD Maid and see if that changes anything...
If not, I may look at doing a full wipe and reflashing..

Did you ever solve this problem? I have tried with TWRP: Fixed permissions, wiped Dalvik cache and other cache. Problem persists.

Whatsapp and Instagram not working after ICS update

Hello!
So, I updated my GT-P7500 yesterday to the ICS stock version. Since then I haven't been able to use whatsapp, nor instagram.
I've tried reinstalling both apps, to no avail. I've also performed a factory reset, to see if it would get the apps working again... everything else works fine on 3G.
By the way, I can't really test to see if those apps will work on wifi.

Uninstall both apps...
Boot to recovery and wipe cache... and then reboot..
Reinstall apps... if that doesn't work...
Uninstall the apps..
Then go into you're app manager and uninstall the playstore updates( do it on both the playstore apps listed.. if you have two )..Do not uninstall the apps themselves. Since it sounds like you're not rooted. This shouldn't be an issue, but I had to put it out there.. for you're safety..
After that..boot back to recovery and wipe cache... reboot..
Reinstall apps...... let me know what's up..

Since you're rooted... do you have a custom recovery( cwm or TWRP )
If so wipe dalvik with the cache wipe and see what happens..
I'll look around for a better solution

I can tether the connection and open youtube normally on my laptop, though...

Sorry for the late reply... but from what I can tell.. this is a known or atleast consistent problem with other users... I haven't seen any fixes, but you might try an older version of the apps and see what happens..
Good Luck

Hey Gil!
I've managed to solve the issue, so I will post here my solution. If anyone facing that problem step by this thread, he or she might have a chance solving it.
I had given up solving it, and downloaded CyanogenMod 10.1...
I did a factory reset on my tablet, and tried to flash the cm through cwm... For some reason it didn't work, it gave me an error.
Kinda pissed, I decided to try once more to solve my issue or give up and go for another rom, such as gambarou.
I re-flashed the stock ICS using odin.
Booted and voilĂ , everything worked!
Thanks for your help, Gil! =]

I must ask.. did you re-download the stock ICS file.. if so.. the first might have been a bad dl... if not.. then I guess during the first flash, something went sideways..
either way.. glad you're up and running at full speed..

I had this problem a few times after uninstalling Android tweaker Pro. The bad news is that I had to go into recovery, which was kinda hard, and reinstall my rom. The good news is that you could try doing that without wiping anything, as long as it's the same rom that you already had installed.

You can install the same rom without losing data, that's just common sense, but you may have to clear cache if you get a bootloop.

Do you have any idea about why, or does it just never opens? Maybe it has something to do with your ROM (a bug?) You can choose to wait until whatever dev made your ROM updates, if you can open phone.apk you can see your contacts from there so it shouldn't be a problem, you can also try to re-install your rom and clear caches this time.
why don't you just make a back up of your contacts on google..... and then sync again when you install another ROM....... you won't loose any of your contact that way even in future........
