It's basically a rubber bung, it just pulls out - no need to screw, just pull.

It is quite hard to pull out, you must use finger nail to pull it out.
My recommendation is after pull out, keep the cover in the s4 zoom box... so that next time when you gonna use it, no need to take it out again.

Thanks for your valuable response, everyone!
Yeah, I kinda figure out that you have to pry it out with your nail then pull it out once its loose enough. Kept the cover in the box to avoid hassle, works well with my DSLR's tripod! Thanks gang, take care!

How to seal the 3.5mm audio headjack port?

Hi guys,
Dust has been collecting in my Blackstone's 3.5mm port and I don't really use the port. So I've been wondering if there's some sort of rubber piece that I could buy to fill the whole up to prevent more dust from accumulating?
I've found this post but that turned up dead links on Ebay. However, other searches have led me to i-Close but it's not in English and I'm not sure if they even ship internationally.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.
Dug around a bit and found these, a bit expensive though !!

Steeve,
Thank you so much, this is exactly what Im looking for. But the problem is...Im not in the UK.
Cheers.
I personally like having a rubber cover for it, and if I wanted to block up the port I'd put a small piece of black paper/card over the hole. If you're able to divert sound away from using the headphone socket, you could maybe put a jack in and cut it right down so it doesn't stick out = you'd have a radio antenna.
Hi guys,
I managed to purchase the ebay link mentioned above. I'll report back to you guys how it fares once I've received it.
Cheers.

Hi guys,
I've received the items and I would have to say that this is PERFECT (for me). It is even cute in the sense that the stub makes it look like a little ol' antenna.
Here are the pictures as promised.
Cheers.
thanks for the pics, Wolf. but seems a little big for my taste, doesn't it come off when u slid the phone in your pocket or when u take it out?

Insane,
You're welcome. It really isn't that big in my opinion. And no, until today, it has not slipped, not even once. It's really sturdy.
Cheers.

I got mine from eBay. And for me, it wasn't as easy as I thought. I used to dissemble my previous HTC phones and I think the HD is the hardest so far. Maybe cause its slim so everything is packed tightly together?
I had a difficult time trying to pry open the antenna cover. Maybe I didn't get it right, or maybe mine was particularly light. I ended up chipping a part of my antenna cover off. Luckily Im replacing it so that didn't matter. wanted to change the bezel as well but I think I'll wait until there is a video tutorial before attempting again.

Can you be more specific?
Because I do not understand what you mean by the hard cover.

I had a little difficulty at first but, I've found the easiest way is to simply bend back the top right corner (side where the volume buttons are located) and then work your way down the right hand side. I'm sure you can be fairly rough with it without it breaking.

The Otterbox Commuter consists of 3 layers of protection.
1. Screen Protector
2. Inner Silicon skin with cover 'bumps' for the 3 face buttons and the side buttons (Vol and Camera) and a plug for the headphone jack.
3. A hard plastic shell which slips on around the skin.
All in all pretty complete protection for your phone but does cover the good looks of the phone as well as add considerable bulk.
i literally just pop it up. i pull on the left side of the hard cover a little, then pull the phone away from the hard case. it should slip off just like that.
dont be scur!!! thats why they have warranty.

HTC Jetstream Service Manual ???

Does anyone have a service manual for the Jetstream ?
I wanted to take off the back cover and fix a large dent I got on it. I bought the 249.00 special on eBay. Other than that, the screen is perfect and the device works fine.
Now for some rooting and hacking !
I got two of those.lol.
There is a service manual on the internet but it doesn't tell you how to disassemble the JetStream; you won't find a guide like that anywhere.
I managed to open it but the battery is superglued to the back door aluminum plate and there are two rather frail cables that attach the battery to the motherboard and it uses a weird type of clip on connector that I haven't seen before; I didn't want to rip off that connector so I just put it back together and decided to live with the small dent in the back door. Get a nice cover and you won't even see it.
Moral of the story is....if it ain't broken don't try to fix it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yep, I have to agree with the moral of the story. I thought if it was simply, I'd give it a go !
This will have to do til the next tablet. I'm loving it so far.

I accidentally stuff a microSD card into the SIM card slot. Would appreciate very much if you could describe what tools (e.g.,TORX #'s) and a brief instruction how to open up a Jetstream. Thanks very much in advance.
Are there any microphone controls in this piece? It seems that the when we do a voice chat the voice is not picked up. Any help is appreciated

Sorry for the late reply, haven't checked this site in a while. Honestly I opened mine up so long ago that I barely remember the location of the screws, but you should be able to take them off with a T-6. Once you remove them, use a thin, plastic, prying tool to separate the back plate from the front piece - triple check to make sure you got all the screws out. It takes some effort to do it but be very patient and gentle with it; don't forget the wire that runs from the battery to the metal rear piece once you open it.
If I still had my jetstream I'd make a video or a disassemble guide with pics but I sold mine a while ago; got tired of waiting around for an updated android ROM. Good luck.
Thanks for the reply

Alex,
Thanks very much for your reply. It helps.

Rubber seal came off charging port flap. Won't close now.

Anyone have any recommendations?
Check eBay or.amazon for a new one. They are cheap and come in a bundle.

Buy from somewhere else and replace by yourself or take to sony but this will charge you because not cover by warranty.
Only place is Ebay. Takes 21/2 weeks to get.

Weird though, I just called Sony in Canada and they are willing to fix/replace my phone that has screen problems, usb port flap came off and speaker problems.
Why can't you just buy the part and they send it? (U have to send the device for that silly little piece right?)
I'm also interested cos I have the same problem

If you guys find a place where to buy please post it I've been looking for it with lo lockangel:
They're on eBay.
Sony needs to change this design...Or...send a couple extra with the device
Buy a magnetic charging cable! Saves the port! Yes you'll still need to open the port for communication of copying files from PC but it would be substantially less compared to opening the port to charge everyday.

If you don't wonna buy new cup, you can buy cheap glue gun,
then you put some glue on your cup, make the hole a little wet, so your glue want stick.
then wait few secs until glue will become a bit harder and close the cup.
Finally, after it will be hard enough, you can cut with razor glue you don't need.
And yeah, you can always warm up that glue with lighter, if you need to do step 2 again.
Works for me, even tested under water, but not for a long time though :good:

From the link it shows the whole flap (w/ rubber gasket). When you said that it works great, did you replace the entire flap or pull the rubber gasket off of the new one and put it onto your current one?
Thanks,
Gery

you cant replace the rubber gasket....it wont stick. And I tried locktite 401, and it ruined the whole gasket instead of setting it in the right position....perhaps you can do it. But you need a microscope
Thanks! I've found a video on youtube showing how to remove the old one for putting the new one on!
