Hi! I updated my S4 to the latest firmware. Now m having issue in wifi. It stops downloading apps and speed is slow also. It gets disconnect and connect from wifi its self. No matter how near you are to you wifi source. Any suggestions that what might be the problem?
I assume you did not have a problem on MDK.
I had a similar problem after flashing an ME7 ROM and then back to MDK (can't say I really checked while on the ME7 ROM). I finally removed anything that might be trying to control WiFi (Battery Guru, Llama, etc.) and also turned off Power Save mode. The problem has stayed gone ever since. I haven't had the time to go back and re-enable each of those in sequence to track down exactly which was the problem.

Hi all,
Strange thing occuring with my Streak all of a sudden. I can be using it, or it will be locked and screen off, but when resuming use, my mobile network connection is not working. It's still selected in settings, but no data icon in notification bar, and no connection. Turning the 'data enabled' off and back on sorts it out and all is fine, but I cannot pinpoint why this is happening. No obvious reason that I can see.
Initial thoughts were that the network was playing up (Giffgaff), but I'm not convinced about that since 'rebooting' the network on option fixes things.
The other thing to mention is that it's only started recently after going to a GB rom, then reverting back to stock, but I've flashed the proper way, and the basebands are correct for the rom. Tried different stock roms, and it seems to be happening with them all now.
Could something that isn't part of the stock rom have become corrupted? Is it anything that rooting with Superuser could have caused? Had this phone for over 12 months, and never had this. Baffled
I've only owned my Omate Truesmart for one day and the WiFi decided to give it up. I turned the wifi off once today and as soon as I tried to turn the WiFi back on it would not work. Whenever I touch the button to activate WiFi it lights up blue for a second and it then stops. Tried it several times today and nothing different. When I try to get into the wifi settings from the "Wireless & Networks" I'm greeted by a blank screen too.
So far I'm considering if it's a software issue I might try to return it to the stock firmware with this guide. However I'm waiting until I get some input from other people. I don't have cellular data access because I don't have a sim card in it. Any help is appreciated.
So what not stock firmware are you running? BTW both BT and wifi hang on stock firmware. You need to disable quickboot and reboot.
Question. What is wrong with my flashing guide so I can fix it.
Oh nothing wrong with the guide. I haven't used it yet. I'm on the stock firmware. How do I disable the quickboot?
Settings/System/Accessability, it;s the last option.

I got my Omate today and am having trouble with Wifi. If I turn wifi on it crashes the phone and cuaes it to completely power off. It will run for as long as I like with airplane mode on and will not crash if I turn bluetooth on. I found this suggestion and turned quickboot off and rebooted. Still the same behavior with wifi. Has anyone else reported this? Any suggestions?
I'm running firmware 20140120
I have a weak wifi signal on my Omate. Unless I'm right next to the router I can't pick up a wifi signal with the watch. Is there anything that I can do about this?
Sounds like the wifi antenna connector came lose. Contact Omate and get it replaced. The only other option is to disassemble it and reseat the connector.
Hey guys, I've had this problem ever since android 4.3, had it on 4.4.2, and after trying liquidsmooth's 4.4.4, the problem still exists. Wifi keeps dropping to LTE, and if I try to toggle wifi back on, the toggle switch "hangs" for a moment on the "on" switch while greyed out, and then automatically switches back to the "off" switch. Only after some time passes, sometimes taking several days, does the wifi randomly switch back on. Does anybody else have had to deal with this problem? And how were you able to resolve it? Thanks in advance

Hmm sounds like a Rom problem. Does anyone else installing Liquid Smooth have that issue? You should post in the Rom's thread and ask..If so you know your answer..
Another thing you can try is swapping some system files.. Post back here if no one else has the issue..

Sounds like you haven't flashed the MJ9 firmware. It can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578458

Thanks guys I went back to 4.1.2 and reflashed my way up through 4.3 to 4.4.2 to cm11. Hopefully this will clear up my Wi-Fi issue, will report back if the toggling issue persists

*never mind, wifi dropped within an hour of installing cm11 4.4.4. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
- to Acez71: I flashed MJ9 firmware, still no go
- to lacoursiere18: The problem still exists on CM11, I'm beginning to think the problem isn't ROM specific
Update: it seems my issue was hardware related, specifically the two gold contacts inside the cover and the two points on the back of the phone weren't making good contact. After cleaning the points and securing the cover firmly my WiFi issues seem to have disappeared for now. So if any of you are having similar issues, make sure to check the WiFi antenna contacts on the back of the phone
Greetings,
I have a rooted phone that I rooted before the gs4 safestrap was invented. So recently I tried out Hyperdrive 18 and 19. Consistent issue that I kept having is my wifi would drop every 30-40 seconds and reconnecting. I was unable to recreate the issues with Cyanogenmod 11. It appeared to only be with the hyperdrive rom. I did some googling and found someone say that their issue was resolved with the Gogoalies Wifi fix. I figured what the hell and gave it a shot. Phone rebooted and I was unable to turn on wifi and it took about a minute until I could get a cellular signal. Reflashed the rom and it booted up fine. I'm back on Cyanogenmod but it really feels like something is still wrong with the phone. I can't get the compass to work on the phone inside google maps. I tried a compass app and it is completely off. Now when I drive, the maps do not show an arrow of what direction I'm facing and I also don't have a solid lock.
So my question is does this wifi fix effect the GPS as well as other aspets of the phone and if so, can someone direct me what I need to undo the damage or suggest a better fix?
Hi everyone,
Last week, I updated my G3 to Lollipop. Ever since then, I have been unable to recieve app notifications when I am on wifi. When I turn off Wifi and use a regular signal, the notifications work fine. They also work fine when I have my phone in airplane mode, with wifi on. But, when I have wifi and the data signal on, they do not work. Ii have already done a factory reset to my phone once, and it has not resolved the issue. Is this a known bug? If so, is there a fix in place? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate any info, as this is becoming quite frustrating.
Matt
This is the dreaded WiFi Sync bug, It doesn't affect all WiFi spots. It just depends on the router you are connected to. It mainly stems from IPV6 issues. There is a fix in the works for the official OTA or you can root, and apply a fix for it. I believe Jasmine ROM has the fix in it, but I cannot say for sure as I do not run custom ROMS. I stick with stock.
This has only really affected me with GMail syncing with a 3rd party app at home. At work, I have no issues.
So, you can either root, flash the fix (search the forums and you'll find the issue) or you can wait until LG/Verizon release the patch for this, or go back to KK.
