MS Office for Android - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Loaded the MS Office for Android.
Like the look and feel. But hate that cannot store documents locally. Is there a way around this?
To trick an app to giving a local option?
I don't want to store all my documents in the cloud.

Google drive. Done.

Isn't that still the cloud?

Did it give you an option for skydrive (hard to believe it wouldn't)? It has a very straightforward downloading option.

Another cloud.
SkyDrive is the free service offered by Microsoft to host files in the "cloud" for all owners of a Microsoft account

Well, yeah (not sure why you thought you needed to explain a service I obviously already use to me), but it's one that makes it easy to download to the phone. Drive and dropbox kind of resist straightforward downloads. Obviously not direct, but it gets you what you want...the files on the phone.

I thought TwinPic was just used to share send and receive pics among Android users? There's no website with html links to the pics right?

They have galleries and the option to upload to galleries when you send a pic. It's nice, I can't wait to see more show up

Right but it's not an online cloud gallery like Photobucket or Picasa right? I'm talking about a site where you can upload your photos and link to them for non-Android users.

Invite as Someone with the app or from google...?? If its someone, can somebody send me one please.

So far I like Google+ for photos, they are stored on picasa/g+ for easy retrieval and sharing.
I use Picasa. Integrates with Google (like G+), maintains original file size/resolution, easily downloadable. Plus it has good privacy controls. Storage space is dirt cheap, I pay $20/year for 20GB storage.

I hope we see a Photovine app for Android. You would think it would have come to it first rather than iPhone. It looks pretty cool

Modified Dropbox?

No doubt many people use Dropbox on here and very good it is too, however there are some missing parts which I'd love to see implemented.
For example, unless I'm missing something i cannot see a function which let's you multi select files, also you don't appear to be able to export folders you have to click into the folder and export files one by one which is a pain, other small bits too that could be implemented but the two I mentioned are the main ones.
I'm wondering if someone could put together a modified version of Dropbox, or would I just be better contacting Dropbox myself with these suggestions?

Sent an email to Dropbox but got no response :-\, it's not so much solid explorer or anything else like root explorer, etc I just want to to see much more options in Dropbox
I have a folder of over 1,000 wallpapers I use on my phone which I also have saved to Dropbox but unless I manually export them all to my Nexus 7 there is no option to multi select which is annoying

Calling all "app wizards"...Would love a suggestion!

Extremely disappointed in IMGURs attempt at all their apps. Bulk image upload works wonderful, but doesn't generate a "gallery" link that I can share.
What I'm looking for is an app that I can upload 5-6 photos to , and end up with a "album" link that I can share with family, Craigslist buyers etc.
I'm aware dropbox now has this function built into their app, but it doesn't really serve a purpose when I'd like to hot link images.
Any suggestions?

I have uploaded albums with the Imgur app and gotten a link to the album without any issues at all. Don't know why you can't get one too.

I don't think you can with stock. I'd use a decent third party like maildroid. Then you can have your entire account showing.

Hmm ok thanks for that. I must admit I'm 1 of those people who likes using stock apps because I don't like most ui's of 3rd party apps. But I have had to change the music app I am using recently and playerpro is very good so far so I'll check it out. Thanks

There are a few good ones worth checking:
Touchdown
Enhanced email
Maildroid
K-9
... To name a few. Most have free trials. They're way better than stock!

Dropbox and Google Docs for Android.

So since google has abandoned QuickOffice for Google Docs and Sheets, I've removed QuickOffice and installed the latter two.
I can open excel files fine when in Dropbox app but Android doesn't recognize a application that can open my word files, .docx.
Am I missing something?
Edit: doesn't seem to be related to only Dropbox, google drive and local files as well. I can go inside the google docs app and still can't open a word file locally. Really unimpressed with Google right now
Thanks in advance!

This is one of the reasons why I haven't switched to those standalone apps. I'm still sticking with Quickoffice until Google brings .doc and .docx support to their Docs app.
