Hello guys I have just bought a new phone based on mtk 6572 soc (dual core 1.2 GHz / cortex a7) .
I need help on how to root it .

Hi,
There isnt a MT6572 that I have ever heard of, try using the MTK Droid Tools from this link and it will tell you what your actual processor is.

Also, if it is indeed a MT6577 I would say try using Motochopper, it works on a few other MT6577 devices. Then if it doesnt work try this chinese root program, I have had pretty good success with it on a number of chinese devices:

If neither of those quick one click root methods work look at post #5 from first link for directions on how to port CWM recovery to your device using MTK Droid Tools and SP Flash Tool.

This method? It was posted back in Feb of this year by the guy that made the MTK Droid Tools, it has been on XDA for quite a while. Be sure to thank Rua1 if you use his tool and method! Same directions you posted Rua1 has in post #5 of the thread linked below. I just want to make sure credit is given where it is due, all of us with MTK devices would be stuck without Rua1's tool!!!

MTKDroidTools still don't fully support 6572, there are some attempts on china-iphone.ru, but looks like ROMs for 6572 have differences from 6577/6589

If the chinese root tool I posted above dont work, try installing SRT Appscanner on your device, if either of the exploits says vulnerable, then you might be able to use this (If it says success then you would just need to install SuperSU and update su binary for root access):

Lava Iris 402 Root
Framaroot works for Lava Iris 402. Do create backups before and after installing root. Search for options to create backup before rooting so that it can be restored to claim warranty in case of any hardware issues.

if he wanted to help he should have posted the procedure here itself.
He's wanting to be contacted on facebook which is spoiling the fun of being at XDA.
There's no other way to work on the memory issue without first rooting the device.
I currently don't own this device but I am interested in buying if its rootable and Internal memory can be symlinked.
Edit: any advanced user may lookinto possibilities of Rooting N400 by using this method and post back if it works.
Do not try this if you are not sure what it does.

em going to share the working method to root lava N 400 this is my modified tool to root lava n400 but once you root you can't unroot so after root just make the backup of your rom ...you just need ADB driver on your computer
1} extract
2} increase your sleep time
3} connect your phone in media transfer mode
3} follow the instruction and choose 1 option
4}on your phone select RESTORE MY DATA wait to reboot
5}if you see super usrer on your phone you are successfully ROOTED

you are wrong my friend i want to help...but just want to confirm that its a working method sir coz i don't want any of them out there or you BRICKED your phone + em bzy in find out the way to BACKUP my rooted ROM coz there is no way come back after root you can't unroot and for your safety back up your rom after root

I am sorry I didn't meant to hurt you in anyway,
With the Lava phones giving good competition to Micromax and other low cost Brands, its eagerness of existing users to get root access
and modify the system as per their taste.

BTW i m also planning to buy lava iris 356.. Can u tell more about the performance .. speed and available storage for apps.. Does it lag after installing FB / Whatsapp etc ??

I have also Lava iris 356 3g. I already rooted my phone successfully by SRSroot application found by pc net.
Try this or follow the instructions. If you fail then try mobogeniu application for pc.

First, download framaroot .then after installing it,selet "install supersu".after succes msg reboot your iris 356 3g.

hey! what if I flash the rom of q1000? (not q 1000 opus) on my device?? ( q 1000 opus) will it work?
Opus is broadcom and q1000 is MTK

But you can try to install it after you replace its boot.img with Stock Opus boot.img

use MTK DROID Tool which automatically put the CWM recovery into your phone. use 2.4.8 and above version. Kindly google it and find. Or you can read my ports or other developers port in this forum and learn.
This will help you in future to face any problem in your Andoid phones. If you have any difficulties in google and find and exercise, then let us know.
Hi I just found out that the Xolo Q1000 Opus is the same exact phones as the Mobiistar Lai Touch 504Q (vietnamese phone). EXACTLY THE SAME.
AND apparently this is popular in vietnam so you can look in their forums. ( I am using google translate)

OK lemme make it clear, Opus is BROADCOM not MEDIATEK so MTK DROIDtypes of software wont work on it. It will only work on q1000 not q1000 opus

hi brothers.
by looking in the market i have found one copy of karbonn a1+ duple its calle Vi-wa V1 it have same specs exept ram showing 226 and internal memory 120mb rest its all 100% same i have tried many things to add cwm but failed in fact we need to request some experienced and advance members of the xda crowed to help us out because its in use and coming out aloud lets hope someone will stand forward to help us to get custom recovery and some custom delicious cooked roms the thing is comparing to chinese android phones this phone is wayyyy much better in looks and performance and price is very very good.hoping to get some good news from members.

Guys I suggest you to pull out your stock recovery.img and upload it to http://builder.clockworkmod.com and start building custom cwm recovery. If you are succesfull then download the newly created recovery.img and flash it. Hope it helps

Oh that's exactly similar to my case. My Karbonn A1* recovery also bricked but boots normally without problem. This happened to me coz I flashed a custom recovery of A1+ thinking that it was for a1*

there is no way to find stock recovery i have tried all weekend we have to live with it bro its gone so lets beat it and next time buy samsung or htc LOL

if ur device is rooted download shuame flashing tool on ur pc n try from that u can go to stock recovery even iff there iss no stock recovery by this u can reset ur device

tried but cant handle the dam language issue its awful to use the software but looks pretty good waiting for English version but thanks anyway
try sp tools and download firmware of karbonn A1+duple and flash it it worked 100% for me now i got back my recovery mode and super fine

If yes then search, download and use yuweng's ctr recovery port tool
