[Q] Differences between the Developer and Retail Edition - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi,
I was hoping someone could help fill in the differences between the Developer and Retail Edition S4. From my understanding, it has a different Kernel, obviously an unlocked bootloader, requires a module pack for WIFI to work on various roms, and has its own Baseband version.
If someone more familiar could break down exactly what the differences are, what modules are needed to use retail version roms (and why), and any other key differences that are worth mention, it'd be a great bit of information to have consolidated.
A link to the modules i mentioned are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42093261&postcount=3
Below are the development edition version numbers
Code:
Baseband version: I545OYUAMDK
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-562219 [email protected] #1 Wed May 15
Build Number: JDQ39.I545OYUMDK
Hardware Version: I545.06

Need help with Asian Rom

Hi,
Firstly, I am a newbie and have been trying to follow all these different links on this forum about custom rom and its getting really confusing. I recently bought htc hero and realised that it is the Asian version. I am currently in the US and need to make certain aspects of it work over here, like for instance, Market is not part of this rom.
I would really appreciate if someone could guide me through or point out where to go to get accurate information on how to change my rom to a more usable rom. I see that there is the WWE rom and then there is MODACO roms, whats the difference? which one is better?
My phone info is as follows:
Model Number : HTC Hero
Firmware Version: 1.5
Baseband Version: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel Version: 2.6.27-8dd6deee [email protected])
Build Number: 2.73.728.5 146733 CL#61267 release-keys
Software Version: 1.0.0.A6288
Please any help in this matter will really be appreciated.
Thank You.

[LIST] System version history, SBF MD5SUMs, & Release Note URLs

This list is kept here for historical purposes (although it would probably be better off in a wiki page). This post contains all the known versions of stock system software released for the Sprint Motorola Photon 4G, including both OTA and unreleased/leaked versions.
This list is sorted by the build number (old builds are towards the top, new builds toward the bottom). Please let me know if there are any errors in this list. You can either send me a PM or make a post.
I won't be keeping track of download links for these files. There's already plenty of other people on XDA providing mirrors of the SBFs for you to download, all you need to do is go into their topic and find a working link.

Anyone notice any of the changes for 198_7? I'm guessing it's for fixes people were reporting for 198_6. I think the main thing was battery life problems and wifi errors. I never really had any of these problems myself but I just put it on my phone so we'll see.
Edit:
When I was using Juice Defender Ultimate on the 198_6 with it managing wifi, the wifi wouldn't autoconnect unless I had it search manually. This problem seems to be gone for the MoPho with 198_7.
Great work, this has been needed for some time!

I fail to understand why we can't have links to the SBF files w/ this list.. and a link to RSD as well as drivers (32 and 64 bit).. would be a handy place for someone to return to stock or flash a prior build if need be.
Since I'm not shy ... here is a link to a post where a member has posted links to mirrors of quite a few of the prior (and current) builds including RSD lite and drivers.
The reason why I'm not providing links to download the SBF and related tools is because I do not want to be held responsible for what anyone might (accidentally) do to their phone.
The list is for informational purposes only, and if someone wants to figure out how to flash back to stock, all they need to do is open Yay for Juggs' thread, or visit the "Roms" folder on his website.

Where can I download these files? j/k
I had too because you said NOT too!
Seriously though, thank you for this information. This is definately needed stuff. After a while, it does get confusing trying to keep track of all the different versions/updates especially when your MoPho doesn't play nice with one, and you need to go back to one it likes.

segmented information = not the most helpful.

I've updated the list in the OP with the latest information so *bump*

[Q] Whether to ROM?

Hi...
I recently got myself one of these bad boys:
Model Number: YP-G70CB/SSA
Firmware version: 2.2.2
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.XXKF1
- It does have the mechanical Home Key - purchased in South Africa.
I'd like to upgrade it to GB or higher Kies just tells me my device is not upgradable??!! Why would that be?
Anyway I have read solidly for two days on this forum and I am inclined to attempt the following ROM: International 5.0 (Rest of World) Eryiğit Custom Rom Default Release 3.0
I just don't know enough whether it's compatible or that it would work or brick?
One thing I really would like out of it which it hasn't at the moment, is to have an ad-Hoc hotspot running on it for others to connect to a small web server... is that possible with the ROM above or am I going to have to wait or try something else?
Any advice much appreciated - Shot dot Com...
See above
Sigh...

[Q] Unlock european atrix

Hello, I have been looking through many forums for unlocking motorola atrix, but none of them has been working, either due to dead links or not correct version.
Information about the phone:
System version:
45.31.20.MB860.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
Model number:
MB860
Android version:
2.3.4
Baseband version:
N_01.100.00R
Webtop version:
WT-1.2.0-133_38
Kernel version:
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #2
APflex version:
GAS_EMEA_USAOLYPGBRTCEE_P026
GAS_EMEA_USAOLYPGBRTCEE_A006
GAS_EMEA_USAOLYPRTEU_M001
Build number:
4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20
Is there any current topic that I have missed which explains how to unlock this system version?
So far I haven't found any working topic to follow, and if not, is there anyone who have the time to help me try unlocking it?
Thanks in advance.
Simon

[Q] Upgrade to Jellybean and Install CyanogenMod

First of all, let me tell you about the phone:
Rooted: Yes

Model #: SCH-R760
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: S:R760.01 K.FI24

I am wanting to upgrade to JellyBean and install CyanogenMod. I am not sure how to or what versions of these two I need to download. Could someone explain and set me on a straight path? Thank you.

Honestly I don't want to upgrade to Jellybean if it's not necessary. I just need to know how to install CyanogenMod and which version I need for my phone. Cheers

First you need to flash a CM kernel(it will be given in the CyanogenMod Roms thread) then through CWM flash CM 10(for 4.1.2) or CM 10.1(for 4.2.2).
Edit :
DELETED links since I didn't notice your model number before , and I can't find any official cm versions for SCH-R760. Try searching harder for ported versions.

And don't bump posts after 8 hrs (after 24 hrs is acceptable). You make a thread or a post & wait patiently for an answer.
And you need to understand that because you have a relatively obscure phone few people who hang around I9100 Q&A have, it's only natural that you're going to wait a lot longer for that help for the most part unless it's something generic/that applies to most Samsung phones.
