The last time I checked it didn't have spiritbud on metroPCS ROM. So it wouldn't work.
I know it's on the p769, they must have changed kdz for metro. The kdz I have for metro was leaked before the phone came out.
CM 10.1 P769
Yep, I had to do the Lelus method on metro L9. LGpwn didn't work. No Spritebud as Kuma82 said.. Don't know how it worked for you...

Hmmm. I must've been mistaken. My bad. I know I've used lgpwn on this phone but I guess it must've been on one of the t-mo roms I've flashed. I apologize for any misinformation.

Your signature shows LGMS769, are you currently on the metro ROM?

Yes but I used the cwm backup already rooted. I used lulus's method and a t-mo .kdz to get my original root.

You must already be on jellybean. Leave your phone on normally (can make calls and ect.) enable USB debugging & and select lg mode for connecting to PC. Run the offline flash program, your phone will shutdown and go into the s/w upgrade mode on it's own.
Good Luck

Did you put those folder in the c: drive?
You are suppose to type (in a command prompt)
cd c:\rootlelus\stuff
adb devices
To make things easier checkout carloswii5 video
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277639
Just use the video to learn how to install and setup the offline flash program, but don't flash the v20b kdz
you want to use the files i provided here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42316784
get the kdz 10B & the modified 11th bin (look near the bottom of the first post for the modified 11th bin).

Yes, it is the 10g update. Fixes wifi tethering and some security issues. You may loose root if you update.
If you have root and want to update, voodoo ota root keeper "may" allow you to restore root.
There is currently no way to roll back to 10e.
Yeah my phone pushed it I couldn't stop it as I was sleeping when it did so I guess I'm stuck with no root

10g for the us t-mobile l9 is a fix for wifi tethering, and an excuse for t-mobile and lg to break your root. the us l9 may never see jellybean.
The update didnt work on my phone. I got it over the weekend, though I am rooted and have OTA root keeper installed.
It rebooted to the flash screen and then an exclamation point popped up so I had to reboot. Still on 10e
I'm rooted on 10e and have voodo rootkeeper installed. Is there anyway I can safely prevent the update from continuing to prompt me? Don't want it to somehow restart and install itself unknowingly.

I don't understand. Wifi and Bluetooth also 'disabled by server policy'. I cannot re-enable them.
update failed for me also with a dead-looking android and red exclamation triangle. reboot by taking out the battery got me back to 10e, and now it says there are no updates available

just install titanium backup and if you try to use it will ask root permission etc and it that works, u have full function root.
i have custom recovery installed so when i try to install 10g it failed. do you have custom recovery as well?
I did not install a custom recovery since it seemed like it was not polished yet. I already had Titanium Backup Installed, when I opened it just now I just had to grant it permission through SuperSU. Now in Titanium Backup it says Root access: OK (BusyBox 1.18.4-Titanium from app) and SQLite: YES (SQLite 3.7.6.3-Titanium included). When I go into ES File Explorer I can mount /system and view files. In Juice Defender's Activity Log it states The device is rooted.

Hey did you get the offline flash (R&D Tool) working.
The problem might be because your shttps folder is in the wrong location.
Put the shttps folder here
C:\shttps
If you have it anywhere else it won't work.
Example
Don't have it like this
C:\shttps\shttps\http.exe

Hi francantabria, if your bootloader is still locked (it will be so if you don't unlock it) you can't install a real recovery, but you can install a very similar tool - bootstrap or second init- (the artas182x's one) which needs busybox for working.
Busybox is a set of advanced Linux commands for Android, just Google it.
Cheers. Good luck.

Hi francantabria, of course you can, but the proper order is (giving as a fact that you want to unlock the bootloader, you know that you'll lose the guaranty stuff):
1.unlock the bootloader (previously you need to be familiar with fastboot, install its drivers,...)
2.install a recovery via fastboot (or Nandroid Manager) it could be CWM or TWRP.
3.root easily (flashing SU and busybox from the recovery).
4.flash custom rom.
If you follow this way read the tutorials seriously and do it the exact way.
Respect the timing issue: be very careful. I have not unlocked yet, so my experience, at the moment, is only by reading about it. (Fastboot drivers installed and a little more).
Cheers. Good luck.

yes, you do need to unlock the bootloader and you will lose your data during the process
this is for those who got the bootloader unlock already
if you're rooted use titanium backup and restore your data afterwards

as an alternative you can wait for the OTA to arrive on your phone , it will be updated and your data will be preserved

Technically yes, but it's really easy to avoid that. There's an app that lets you unlock the bootloader without using data and to install the factory image without losing data you just edit the install script and remove one little switch ("-w") from the last command.
It's not recommended - but it's easy to do.
How would I go about flashing this if I have everything stock except the kernel?
