[Q] I9300 "modified" status WON'T GO AWAY! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help!
I've been scouring the internet and this site for the past two days to resolve this issue. I am a NOOB and have no clue how to do half of the stuff that's requested to change the device status in order to update my phone.
I am on T-Mobile's network. I broke my US Version of the SG3 and had it replaced by Protect Your Bubble with this International Version. I have tried "Triangle Away" and resetting, rebooting, removing SD Card, "flashing" NOTHING is working.

Hi, can you tell me what my PDA is? I'm assuming it's I9300ZSEMC, if so, I can't find any information pertaining to this on SAMMOBILE.

Your pda is whatever you choose to flash. Use filters at sammobile.com to get the correct download

[Q] cant copy files to the phone from pc

well i dont know what happened, but i rooted my glaxy s3 via qbking77 method that he describes in these forums. however, when i try to move a picture or a video that is mine from my pc to my phone, i get a message saying---do you want to copy the file? file may be copied but you may not be able to view or play it on your device.
i dont know what happened, but oh well...i rebooted the phone, its in usb debugging and all that..
my files are good, all my personal photos so i dont know what the problem is...
appreciate any assistance and thanks in advance..

Just simply click yes, it should work or check the extension of the files. There are some picture extensions that the phones don't recognise.
qbking77 method
As their is no such method i believe on this forum .
But you could post a link to check for this root .
My big guess is that you are yet another in the wrong forum and do not have International I9300 phone .
If so firmware from here may brick your phone be warned .
Of course you may well have a I9300 but rooted with a method that is not for the phone .
So what phone have you and if its I9300 check the root method .

Lets make it simple you have L710 not a phone called the I9300.
This is not the Sprint L710 forum we know nothing about such a phone you would be better off in the Sprint L710 forum .
Does that make sense you are in the wrong forum as i keep saying .

Galaxy S3 GT-i9305 IMEI and Basebandversion "unknown" [SOLVED]

So I bought a new samsung S3 i9305 4G and everything was working as normal. I eventually decided to root my phone as I did with my old android devices. After the root my settings got wierd and was saying that my Basebandversion and my IMEI was "unknown" and I thought that could be fixed by using Triangle away and by installing the Samsung official firmware. I did that and it still says "unknown" at both spots. Also it says:
Device status: Modified.
So I did some research about this problem and found out that the IMEI could be restored by following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802024
I followed the instructions til' I got to the instructions from 6 to 8. It says that: "Select RMNET + DM + MODEM and click ok"
But on my phone it says: UART: Modem or PDA USB: Modem or PDA
It seems that I cant use that thread to restore my IMEI as it is now. Is there any other way or should I go to the store and ask for help there?
So I can't use my phone to anything else than surf on my WiFi network right now and I wanted to check with you guys before going back to the store with the phone if there will be any warranty issues or something..
Additional Facts:

Sweden 2012 November 4.1.1 I9305XXALK5 I9305TLAALK1
Android version: 4.1.1
Odin Mode says:
Product Name: GT-I9305
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
It is NOT my SIM because I tried it in my old phone and it worked.
EDIT: Problem is solved!

Many people have spent a lot of time creating tutorials for beginners like you. Please search the forum for your answer. And yes, flashing a custom rom voids your warranty, but you can always return to the stock software.

(1) for backups etc. have a look in the stickies and FAQ thread of the Q&A section, all included in the how-tos
(2) should you update? decide for yourself...if you cannot live without "these features" I guess you have no other choice
(3) is it safe? nothing is 100% safe

Agree and that is due to multiple guides posted all over the place and often repeating those that are stickied .Its a fact of questions and other junk posted in General section cluttering up and hiding the guides .
But as 99% refuse to even start by reading post one why put any effort in to make it more accessible .
In my view we should have one section with Q&A including all general topics . Plus one locked section for guides and faqs with new posts at the discretion of the mods only .

That's a really good idea. Unfortunately it would need to be a site wide change, which would be hard to get admin buy in for. They could perhaps have a "lesser" mod, like a guide admin user base that could manage that for each device, because they would need to understand teh guides and if they were accurate or not anyway.
You should suggest it

That's actually a great idea indeed, you got my vote .
The only challenge will be then, and I guess it is valid not only for XDA but also in real life, how to get people to read first and not go the "easy" way of posting/asking the same old question.
Nevertheless a guide/faq section would be a good start.

That isn't totally true, im on 4.2.2 custom for 3 weeks now and can't say it's less stable than 4.1.2
Rooting always voids your warranty, it means it's on your own risk. Sometimes when you soft-brick your phone you can go back to stock, for what i've read.
