[Q] How to Go Back on HTC Desire X - HTC Desire X

Ok first I have done a lot of this n that to get my HTC Desire X rooted/customized and I succeeded
But one month ago, my phone restarted on bluetooth problem, I got it repaired from market, the Guy installed
Xprit ROM
which is fine except for some weird issues:
- Clicking on SMS after viewing a Contact, opens new SMS, but the To: field is empty
So I have to go to Edit contact, copy the number and then paste in To field
- Haptic feedback on screen unlock (no work around to disable it)
So I wanted to go back to original or if any thing similar possible here is what I have:
**** unlocked ****
PROTO PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.24.000
RADIO-1.10.40.23
EMMC-BOOT

I have some new ROMS to test, but this time I want to get step by step advice,
so please help me, is their a way to go back (I seem to lost the original backup from my hard disk) ???
Will it be safe to try installing new ROMs???

First you go on the site with download on your pc and download it it will be a win rar file copy it to android on your phone and then go to recovery and clear cash and clear dalvic cash after that reboot to bootloader go on fast boot go on cmd on your computer and type in: cd c:\android and then press enter then type in: fastboot flash boot boot.img and then press enter then go on your phone and reboot it and your done

Can I get some help

So I got my replacement from Sprint after bricking my phone by downgrading from s-off..
Now I tried to brick this one and seems like it turned off before I disconected and now I can't boot it up, and the downgrade tool won't detect it, I get a dim blinking red light.
Also when I try to boot up the phone it boots into the bootloader and it says Locked and under it it says security warning, what do I have to do?
Help please :/
Do I just re-do it?
anyone?
Run the ruu.
Check the sticky on how to get back to stock

Yeah.
Or wait. Unlock your phone?
The reason it shows security warning is because you probably flashed something then locked your phone. thats what happens to me after locking my phone.
But now why would you try to downgrade after you bricked your phone. haha

Your right but you don't need to unlock it again. Just run the 2.17 ruu exe through the bootloader and when your phone is hooked to the computer check in your device manager menu ( if you have windows) to make sure you have your drivers. It should say My HTC or adb android.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But if he unlocks his phone it should be able to boot up and not show security warning. Also you need to run ruu while your phone is on fasboot USB if not your phone will just reboot

"1. Go to data menu; enter ##3282# on the dialpad.
2. Click on "Edit Mode" on the menu that appears.
3. Enter your MSL # and hit "OK"
4. Choose "Data Profile" from the listed options.
5. Press your menu button on the phone and select "Restore" from the menu that appears. Then hit "OK.
6. Phone should reboot. Once it's back up, wait for it to start hands-free activation. Once this is complete you should be good as new!"
If that doesn't work just call Sprint and tell them you are getting the Error 16 message and they will get you back going. Happened to me months ago after using revolutionary and the phone call took less than 5 minutes.
Edit: If you don't know your MSL number you can get a free app off the Play Store named MSL Reader that will find it for you.

Your right, if he unlocks it it will allow him back into his ROM. I was just saying it wasn't nessasary to have to unlock again. When I was unrooting my phone to work on the down grade all I did was lock the phone and run the straight stock ruu 2.17 through the fastboot from my PC and every thing cleared up. You just need the drivers installed minus HTC sync

mobile network not working

Can anyone help with this?
Rooted my HTC Rezound by unlocking the bootloader according to the htc developer site, then flashed it with the Amon Ra rezound recovery image, then installed the su & superuser options from the recovery menu. (I can't link to the instructions as i'm a newbie).
Kernel Version:
3.0.16=gd0049f1
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Baseband Version:
1.22.10.0421r, 1.22.10.0424r
Everything seems to be working except my mobile network takes forever to turn on. Once it finishes, my 4G LTE indicator comes up, but when I try to go out on the internet it times out, or I get the network connection not found message, or I get "a network error occured" message. Txts, email, and talk seem to be working.
I have my back cover on, and I've reseated the SIM card and put the cover back on.
Any ideas?
Also, I'm not sure if this is related, but for the first few hours or so after I rooted it, I got the message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped." That was yesterday and I haven't seen the message since, even after rebooting multiple times.
Ok sense you know how to unlock this will be easy for you.let's get you on the latest radios. First your gonna need to relock your bootloader connect your phone to your comp while in fastboot/hboot pull up a command prompt on your comp AMD type the following hitting enter at the end of each line:
cd c:/folder (mine is cd c:/android)[enter]
fastboot devices [enter]
fastboot oem lock [enter]
That will then relock your bootloader. After your done with that
download this. http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/ rename it to PH98IMG then put it on Your sd..
Then boot your phone to hboot it'll find the file automatically and start loading the update. It'll start and then screen will go black for about 20 sec then start up again, this is ok it updates tje hboot first. This will ensure your on the latest radios and hboot.. after you run the update which will take about 15min, unlock again, (same commands and same Unlock_code.bin you used before) then flash amonRa again, then dl this put it on your sd and flash it in recovery it'll give you root access on the stock Rom https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0ZJtM40GdJ0TE03UVNIQ0Z2ekU/edit click

Android Revolution HD

Hey I tried posting directly to thread but guess im new, i have htc one x + and on the revolution page. It says i need one of firmware packages. So i downloaded the package matchibg my cid mid number HTC__001 but there were 2 files. 401.1 and 401.3.. i tridd both, i relocked my phone. Put both in same foldee as my fastboot (ofc at diff times) and in both cases : cannot load firmware.zip. when i do oem reboot ruu. My phone goes to a black screen with htc logo and holds there, it doesnt do anythg but remain on that page. Am i missing a RUU? How do i download an RUU to use or something. I tried changing directory of cmd to my fastboot folder. Didnt work. Cannot load firmware.zip everytime, amy ideas? Btw i live in lebanon. Unlocked phone. No carrier branding on it. Should i insert sim card in it? It has no phone number in it

[Q] Question about HTC DEV, error issue

Ok so Iv manged to finally get the screen to say "waiting for device" But thats when the phone is on..
If i restart with VOL DOWN and power into FAST BOOT USB AND I GO type in the cmd " fastboot oem get_identifier_token."
It says >>>>>> <Bootloader> [ERR] COMMAND ERROR wTF is the issue? I downloaded a ADB tool that installed in my CMD, I tried the SDK and it never would take always threw up error etc, so I ran across something else and its the Furthest iv gotton so far..
Only issue now is This ERROR when im in FASTBOOT USB.. Ive got a Virgin Mobil.. HBOOT 1.58.0000
Also on the HTC DEV site when i would go to DL the Zip for windows, At one point it kept saying ADB etc is missing.. So i found a program with the main tools that makes it do what it needs to without all the extra stuff SDK installs, Which again BTW would never fully extract and work..
So i go to the zip file i download for windows and now i go to run it, and it throws up the CMD window for half a sec and i can see allot is filled out but it goes rite away... So as i said this is the furthest ive gotton to unlocken it.. What could be causing this???
I can walk you through it, I don't know what is in the zip you down loaded
Cant view code sent in email from htc dev

So ive manage to get my Phn to work for me and the program i DL/// . I got my token from HTC DEV, But now my only issue is The email they sent me with the code in it, I cant view it??
Does it take some kinda special view? It says its a UDF code or something? like that.. IM SOO CLOSE to unlocking it but so far at same time..
I never could get sdk tools to DL i found a ADB program that managed to make everything work just fine. It went from Pulling up NOTHING IN CMD for my phone, then with that simple download of the ADB program, It was a program someone just put the main things needed together and left out all the XTRA BS that SDK tools come with, SDK tools never once downloaded or open rite..
But as i said Ive pasted the TOKEN!! GOT SENT THE EMAIL, But the code attachment sent is not viewable, I have never run across something like this.... Ive also posted in EVO 3D about this issue, But anyone have a idea what i need to view the code?
BTW THIS IS THE SITE I DL THE PROGRAM FROM THAT FINALLY got me to get my CMD prompt to work for my phone and eventually give mmmmme my token..... Take a look at it... It might be allot easier new way for newbies in the future.

It's not viewable easily, you send file to phone using fastboot commands. The phone will bring up a screen asking you if you want to unlock

Im new to this whole thing, My issue also is I only have one smartphone, the one im unlocking and im just running it on wifi.. But Could i still send it to my phone somehow? Or is there another way to view the damn code>? I cant believe This one thing is holding me up..
it says this " VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
Ive saved it to the Folder that Has FastBoot and adb (The code sent to my email).. Then i go past in cmd" fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
But it just says error Cannot open Unlock code bin.
When i saved the program with the fastboot etc in it, I just made a New Folder, How do i make it a spefic location.. ? Like for example
C:\ANDROID
OR C:\ADB tHAT way i can type it into the CMD prompt an it recognize it? Im thinking thats one of my main problems now as well...
At first i saved my new files to My documents.. Then i sent the ones with ADB &FASTBOOT to lOCAL DISK C:\
Where am i going wrong?
You need to be in the directory with the fastboot.exe and unlock.bin
Man it has been awhile for me to use Windows.
Maybe easier to make a folder in c:\
everything needs to be in same folder

Use Linux it's easier
Forget about HTC DEV it won't work with hboot 1.5+. You'll want s-off to be truly rooted anyways, and HTCdev will only unlock you.
You'll need to downgrade the bootloader to 1.4 and ROM(main) version to 1.13. Then run Revolutionary S-OFF, then reupdate the hboot back to 1.58 and main version back to 2.95.
I only know the process for my sprint cdma. However, none of my carrier settings were altered during that process, so I can say with quite a bit of certainty that the same process / RUU files can all be used on your phone as well
I put together a pretty clear noob guide in the first post of the lnk below. Took me 3 or 4 days with the help of two other members here, so when I finally got S-OFF I put together a summary of the whole process include all the links to the tools / files needed.
You'l need
blank CD and burner, know how to boot from a CD
data USB cable
Micro-sd adapter so you can load files onto your phone's micro-sd from your PC

Good luck

As for the HTCdev unlock....I used ROOTEVO3DNEW instead of the fastboot binares that HTCdev gives you(C:\Android). Create a new folder in C:\ and name it rootevo3dnew. Unzip all rootevo3dnew.zip contents into that folder. This is the folder where you will do everything instead of C:\Android...place the unlock key .bin file directly in the main directory of rootevo3dnew . Type cd \rootevo3dnew in cmd to change the directory and repeat the process as you would with C:\Android
Chances are that will not work either, you will need to do the brick / downgrade

[Q] adb not reading device

Alright guys, Ive been trying to fix my friends DNA i guess from what he said is that he had a system update happen on his phone and it would just stay on the "HTC Quite Brilliant" Page. I tried a factory reset, and that didn't do anything, I went into recovery to wipe cache partition. I also tried wipe data/factory reset from recovery as well as hboot. so i got adb and i plugged the phone in while on fastboot. "adb devices" Shows nothing its just blank underneath the listed devices. So i figured that the drivers wont install i installed htc sync manager as advertised has the supporting drivers. Htc sync manager reads the device but doesn't say its a DNA it just says that its rom number. I tried to go to fastboot and put a previous dated RUU on but it had a error and just couldn't do anything with the phone. So now i went into the recovery and behind the menu screen it says "updating software from verizon wireless" but theres a issue with that is that the sim card in it isnt activated anymore so theres no data going to that phone if it is updating and if it downloaded the os to the phone it should be wiped since i did a factory reset 3 times and wiped cache 3 times as well.
So What i think is wrong is that:
I need usb Debugging on
S is on
Drivers wont install properly
I may need a active sim card to pass the updating?

I tried to unlock the device to see if this would help out and i got it connected and i went and i got the token for the device and went to get the tocken and it came back with a error code
Error Code: 160.
Error Reason: MID Not Allowed.
Can someone please help me out here?
I was missing android sdk and i installed android sdk, and my device will read in adb but when i got to flash a udate it will read signature error. but im not using the word update im using "fastboot flash hboot hboot.img" and so forth and its not working i still cant get the hboot to unlock. please help me figure out if its possible to fix this phone im really determined to fix it and i need alittle bit of help.
Unfortunately, unless you can boot into the ROM, you cannot unlock this phone. I suggest contacting HTC support and let them know the update soft bricked the device and since you cannot unlock it, you need their help in getting it to boot again. HTC is very good when it comes to support, even for phones that are out of warranty. Support staff have been instructed to fix any m7 even if out of warranty period for the camera issue (talked to a rep personally on this issue today when making small talk). I am sure if their update borked your phone and it hasn't been tampered, they will fix it free of charge. What's the worse they can say, no?
Sent from my One using XDA Free mobile app
I contacted there support 2 times on the phone and once trying to live chat and i got hung up on twice.. so im at loss here
Im really not happy with htc they cant tell me anything to any cause to why there update would cause the softbrick on the phone itself did anyone else have a issue with 4.09 update bricking your phone?? and did anyone find a solution for it?
