Hi everyone.
I got a used HTC One X that is locked to AT&T. I got an unlock code and cut my SIM card to fit it, but it wasn't recognizing the SIM card, so I decided to boot it into Factory Reset, and accidentally wiped everything off it instead. For the past 5 days now, I haven't been able to install a ROM, or anything on it except to boot it into TWRP.
I have called HTC and they told me that I can pay $350 and up to repair it.
I need help on how to repair it, or I'm just going to sell it on eBay for repair.
Please, I am a noob, so nothing with too many technical words. Thanks!

If the phone doesn't turn on at all, first check the battery and make sure its charged and all that. check and see if u get 13 volts on it using a multimeter. If this is then you probably bricked your phone probably because you flashed a G3 rom on ur G4 device. I just did that and that y im saying it. I sent it back to cingular and they reflashed the bootloader for me with no charge as it was still under wanrranty according to the serial number on my phone. I bought the phone off of ebay and i thought i didnt have warranty but i got lucky. good luck with ur stuff.
I am now in the same situation.
I cannot get into bootloader mode to flash wizard love (I had a sucessfull flash of XM6 on a CID locked G4 with shelltool then it stoped working after a reset)
What can I do? bought the phone off ebay, it was said it was 11 months old...
If anyones got any ideas, would apreciate the help.
thx about all your posts but i need a mother board main board coz the boot loader is corrupted and there is no solution either the jtags in my case so i will get to the factory or buy an another device or get a bad condition wizard o a motherboard of wizard
Boards run somewhere around US$175 (This was what the person at the service center told me). I would highly recommend you to send the phone in and ask them to just reflash the bootloader part. You wont need to get a new board. It would be much cheaper.
For the other person who got his phone off of eBay, mine is off of eBay too. Cingular still covered my phone under the manufacturers warranty even though I am not a cingular customer. So again, my suggestion is to send it in to get it fixed and you may get lucky like me and not get charged anything. They even changed the outer housing of my phone at no charge. No idea why. When you flashed the rom on your phone, you probably flashed a G3 rom on your G4 device. It will flash successfully but once u restart the phone, it wont turn on, not even into the bootloader mode. This means your bootloader files are corrupted. Exact same thing happened to me by mistake and I flash 5 or 6 different roms on my phone pretty much every day. mistakes always happen, good to know that there are ways to fix it and not have to buy a whole new device.
Hope this info helps. Let me know if you need any other info or help. Good luck.
thx for the info friend but in mexico is more dificult send it to the htc to the boot loadder but well i will try it with movistar also i was looking for a device or a mo therboard
How do I check whether my phone is under warranty or not and what is Cingular number to call ?
Please help, thank you!

Hey Guys,
Hopefully someone can help me out since I can't seem to find answers anywhere to my problem. I got an unlock code from T-Mobile but when I put a foreign sim into the phone is says "invalid sim, 0 attempts remain". I got the phone on craigslist so I'm guessing whoever had it before me tried unlocking it with the wrong code too many times. I have the right code now, how do I reset the attempts? I can't believe that the phone is hard locked and there isn't anything I can do about it. It's pretty frustrating so any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!!!
really???? no one knows anything about this issue?
So people here know how to put different operating systems on phones but no one knows if it is possible to reset the sim unlock counter?????
the phone is hard locked and (certainly in most cases) can now only be unlocked by using a hardware unlocker. (for most phones, you get three attempts via the keypad, and a further 10 via a hardware connection normally.)
thanks for the reply! what exactly does hardware unlocking mean? would i still need to use the code given to me by t-mobile?
speak to a phone shop (or better yet speak to t mobile first)
have you tried to restore the phone to factory(not a hard reset). I would try going to Tmobiles website and try to update the rom...

^is for US phones I just did mine today because the guy that put android on it removed the unlock screen and I was unable to unlock the phone. And no one on here was able to answer any questions for me so don't feel bad.
Got it unlocked last night! turns out the sim card i was using was locked. i tried a different one and it let me key in the code. thanks for all the help!
now that the phone is unlocked would doing a hard reset lock it back up?

good stuff. No, flashing / hard resets will not ever lock the phone now.
hey guys I had a atrix 4g that i sold to a friend of mine. before i did i had rooted it and unlock the bootloader. so i can run titanuim backup to get m data off.
the problem is the phone now which still has stock rom on it. is giving my buddy low memory error when he plugs it into the lapdock. its has never done that before and only started now. i read on another thread that it might have something to do with the unlock bootloader or something. i didnt install any custom rom or any customer recovery on it. just rooted and unlock bootloader then got unlock code to unlock phone for different network.
any help would be great my friend really wants to use the lapdock like i used to.
thanks in advance
My friend asked if i could help with his phone. He recently got a new sim card and found out his phone is locked.
Everything on his phone is the way it came out of the factory, nothing has been change... So, for all info on the hardware just google 'acer liquid z520'.
While searching for a way to unlock it, i stumbled upon these sites: http://www.tntts.com/2016/07/open-line-acer-liquid-z520.html & https://www.phcorner.net/threads/230676/
Is this really a way you can unlock the phone? I never saw this kind of way, I thought you needed to unlock bootloader and/or flash some new rom...
Tried searching for a similar thread, did not find anything, sorry if i missed something.
If this is not a legit way to unlock this phone, please point me in the right direction. He would like to avoid paying 20$ to unlock it and waiting for another year for the contract to end is also not an option.
Thanks for the help.
I bought a new LTE Galaxy Tab a few days ago (Hong Kong region) and after a couple of days days of using it, the S-Pen and screen started becoming completely unresponsive. I had configured some basic things on the Tablet, activated Developer Options and installed some apps, but I didn't have tine to get TWRP or root before it broke down. After taking it to Samsung and getting it back repaired 2 days later, they told me they had to replace the whole screen and also the pen. Somehow I had the feeling they simply gave me a new unit. Fine to me..
So today, getting myself ready to install TWRP and rooting it, to my disbelief, the OEM UNLOCKING option in Developer Options is gone! It was absolutely there before I took it to Samsung for repair. This means what? Did they exchange my original purchased tablet with one that actually has a locked bootloader? Or can I still install TWRP and root as before, or what exactly is this? Im pretty upset and confused.
Thanks a lot in advance for any insight on this
If it's the LTE version, it would have an IMEI number, no? Check the IMEI on the Tab with the one on the box, (assuming you didn't also give them the box) it will tell you if they've switched them.
I could be wrong, so you may want to wait for further confirmation, but if OEM unlock is not present, it should mean the bootloader is unlocked by default. Try flashing TWRP with Odin, if the bootloader is locked, it will just fail. Again, I'm no expert, just speaking from my experience, when I first flashed TWRP to my Tab S6, I forgot to unlock the bootloader, flash just failed with no negative effect.

Thanks for the reply. I try flashing it and failed. And I did give them box.. my bad I guess and of court I didn't write down the IMEI number somewhere before I handed them the package. How could I have known? I am almost sure they have me a whole new system even because the USB charging cable was wrapped again like when I first unboxed it. It looked 100% a new unit in the box, minus the detail safety seals that were already broken is there repair clerk handed me the new tablet. Plus, it they had simply swapped the stylist and replaced the screen, I would not see a reason for them to have completely reset the unit to the point of the default language being again Chinese instead of English (as all TGY variants are here by default) along with all the apps that I had installed, all of which were gone as well. there's positively no need to completely wipe out and reset the unit simply because they replaced the screen. Plus, locally thinking, being just a couple days old, I'm sure they didn't want to bother for possibly a long time repair turnaround for me and gave me a new one.
That the OEM UNLOCK toggle was there originally is a given because I was just about getting ready to Flash recovery and root it and had specially gone into Developer Options and toggled it along with the USB Debugging Switch. All Samsung phones and tablets in this region have unlocked bootloaders by the default. This is one of the reasons I keep coming back to Samsung because with other brands you either can't do it or it's a nightmare to get it done. Of course, good thing I did not Flashed recovery and root before the Tablet crapped on me because of course I would have voided the warranty. Also, now it's not like I can go back to Samsung and complain about the OEM UNLOCK issue because obviously no one is supposed to be rooting the devices or asking for help on the matter.
I'll do some more research on this and if I can unlock it.. hopefully. If not I will sell it and buy another one retail again. I'm super bummed.
Thanks again for the reply.
