I am trying to go back to stock, but somewhere along the way I seem to have corrupted my internal card. I am trying to put the PH98IMG on the internal, but I cant mount it in recovery ("cant mount emmc"). When I try to mount usb using the installed rom, the external card is accessible, but internal doesn't show up like it used to. I downloaded the RUU and renamed it PH98IMG.zip. Can I flash the RUU just like a custom rom using recovery? Or does it need to be installed from hboot using the PH98IMG method?
edit: I ended up just formatting, there wasnt really anything on internal anyways.

I was trying to restore a backup rom from Clockwork recovery, but I keep getting the message 'Error Formatting /system'.
Problem is I removed the PG05 file from the phone to get into clockwork with the sdcard, in a failed attempt to use a backup I made. Is there anyway to get it back on to the phone from hboot?
I still have the Auto-root program, is there any way to use it for restoring the PG05 file?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Edit: What if I bought a SDHC card reader then replaced the PG05 file? I don't think my computer supports SDHC, but could I access the card if I had a reader?
Your question doesn't really make sense, so a word of warning:
The PG05IMG file is a radio file and it will cause your phone to automatically try and update the radio when you boot into the bootloader. If your current rom isn't working at all (so you can't mount your SD card to your computer to remove or rename the file), this will cause you to not be able to get into recovery. That is the scenario where an external card reader would come in handy. It is actually a good thing you do not have the PG05IMG file saved on your SD card.

I remember there was a problem like this with mounting a while back. I can't really remember the exact cause but updating CWR fixed it for that user. Although one would think that just mounting/unmounting system or sdcard would perhaps fix it.
You didn't say whether you were bootlooping or not so if you aren't and can access RM then flash the newest stable CWR again.
If you're bootlooping, use a card reader/adapter or another phone to place the bootloader flashable CWR zip on your sdcard. Boot to hboot, let it flash, pull batt, remove card, remove zip file, replace card, boot to recovery, then wipe or flash a rom or restore your backup.
CWR zip mentioned: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179386
Note: I've never had first hand experience w/ this problem. I'm just throwing out reasonable suggestions.
Hi guys,
My SD card got corrupted before flashing a rom, so I'm a bit stuck (I can access the CWM menu, the kernel is fine).
So I formatted the card to FAT32 (tried other formats) but when I try and flash an update.zip from it I get
E:Can't mount /sdcard/
So I'm thinking, are there some files missing from the SD card that CWM/android need to interact with it? I can imagine these files were wiped when I did a format. Like superuser files or something? You know also, those hidden files beginning with '.'
I've tried all the usual methods like formatting using SDFormatter and stuff - still, CWM can't see it (my computer can if USB is mounted). Am I right in thinking I need some kind of system files on the SD card?
Any help?
Thanks in advance
the best would be paid copy a rom sd card and flash, or flash a rom stock also either ics or gb and see if there cel recognize SD can not think of anything else. :highfive:
Ok, I guess I'll try that if there's nothing else. If I flash an official .ftf with Flashtool will I need to do anything to my bootloader (currently unlocked)?
Edit: I've been reading around and it seems almost certain that my sd card just needs some vital files on it for CWM and android...
Try by simply reflashing any kernel with cwm if your sd card is readable from pc it is not corrupted, it's more likely somethign wrong with cwm, you should be able to fix reflashing kernel which shouldn't be much of a prob since you have unlocked bl

Hey nice idea, but I tried that earlier and multiple kernels give the same error - it can't be CWM, it must be the SD card (or what's not on the SD card).
Edit: I've tried chkdsk and formatting to a variety of systems using a variety of partition managers, nothings works, my phone just can't mount the SD.

First backup your nandroid backup (if you have one) in a secure place (not the sdcard)
Put your sd card on some other android phone with cwm and format it from the cwm mount/storage option.
if you don't have a nandroid backup skip the next two steps.
mount the sdcard in your computer and create two folders in the sdcard (a folder inside a folder) name the parent folder as "clockworkmod" and child as "backup" .
Put your nandroid backup in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
Now put the Rom zip file you want to flash in the root of the sd card
Power down your phone.
Put the memory card in your phone
Boot into cwm and try to flash the rom.
If the second step fails with "error mounting sd card" try with another memory card or with another phone.

So I just got back from a trip to Vegas, went to upgrade MeanROM from 6.3 to 6.5, and then my SD card would not mount and my internal storage is not showing. I've tried numerous things to try and fix this, by mounting SD and formatting it (Fat32, quick format off), unplugging and plugging in the SD Card, using a different one. No matter what I do, using TWRP 2.1.8 doesn't recognize the SD card and gives a repeated
E: failed to mount /sdcard (invalid argument).
E: Unable to mount /sdcard
Any tips?
Old Twrp ya got....use Goomanager and update...see if that might fix it
Can't even get GooManager to put anything in system cause it defaults to SD card
?? Goomanager install the recovery to the boot partition...you did click menu/ Install OpenRecoveryScript ???
Try flashing CWM recovery and seeing if that helps? My first guess would be to format your internal but since you've already done that I would default to blaming TWRP

CMW is known to damage misc partitions
I just had a similar problem and the only lasting solution was to relock the bootloader, RUU, and reroot. It's easy and the newest RUU isn't difficult to reroot.
I was able to reformat in the internal SD a few times using a PC (before I ran the RUU that is) but it only lasted a reboot or two before re-corrupting. I wish I had just RUU'd from the beginning and not wasted effort with all the reformatting.
I mounted my evo's partitioned "sdcard" but corrupted during a ROM upload. I formatted the internal storage via bootloader and mounted on the PC to access it. However, the internal filesystem is no longer partitioned and now only sees "internal storage" as the only partition. How do I format the internal storage back to before to regain all the partitions?

Thought I'd give it another shot since it was never resolved. I can't move out of meanbean because installing any rom (say cyanogen for example) requires me to flash the boot.img which will not work as the partition does not exist. How can I restore all the partitions on my phone?

Can you post your phone info? Bootloader, radio (baseband) and whether you're S-on or S-off will suffice. If you're S-off you can run VipeRUU. It's a RUU tool you run from your computer that will restore your phone partitions. It will also put your phone back completely stock.
Here is the link to VipeRUU:

Have you tried formatting your storage using a PC?
This is driving me nuts... Here's my story.
Rooted Rezound, running Tachyon Rom.
One morning (today) phone would just no longer boot. Can boot into TWRP v2.7.1.1 recovery. Can flash recoveries, no problem.
But the internal SD Card shows 0 for size.
So I can't flash a new ROM, can't run the current one any longer. Can't do anything but flash recoveries.
I'm S-ON, so no idea how I can get utilize RUU's.
Any ideas? It's my only phone right now. I'm desperate.

Seriously? Nobody has anything they can add to this? I'm really hoping to save this phone as I don't have the $$ to replace it at this time.
Why can't you flash a ROM? Is your complete internal sdcard (all partitions) gone, or just the emmc (Internal Storage)?
Just put it on your external storage and flash from there... many Rezounds are running without the internal storage and they work fine, and in many JB ROM's they internal and external were "reversed" and the external storage was used as the primary, try some of the 4.2/4.3 build of Carbon, LiquidSmooth, Beanstalk, or any of the larger distros at that time.
If your entire internal sd card is gone (no /boot /system, etc), then your PIT (Partition Information Table) is probably toast, not a good spot to be in. Are you S-OFF, then try one of the executable RUU files (NOT one of the PH98IMG flashables), they will often rebuild the partition table and return the device to service. If you are S-ON, then only HTC can fix this, not sure if even a JTAG service can fix it.

Correct. The entire internal sdcard is gone. I can't mount, partition, wipe, or format it.
I'll see if I can flash a new ROM to the external SDCard. Can you direct me to a tutorial or something on how to flash to external SDCard or logically reversing the SDCards? It keeps failing as it tries to flash to internal by default.
I am S-On.
Thanks!

TBH, its probably toast then... Once the PIT is gone, or the internal flash chip goes bad, there is no recovery method I know of on an S-ON Rezound, even with S-Off there is only a slim chance of recovery at this point. The phones needs to have access to /boot, /system, and cache partitions on the internal flash, the rest can reside on the external storage.

I had this issue appear when I tried to install a ROM on my S-off Rezound. Mine was the internal storage though. I tired many things to recover the data, but was only able to get it to remount after a format.
