Well for sure this LG has better hardware: more RAM, better screen, resolution, full HD recording. Kernel is 3.0.X and seriously I think it's not so important when you can get better hardware. One advantage of desire X is that it will probably hold longer on battery but stil LG L9 is fine for 1-2 days (depends on use). Now we have a lot of custom ROMs too (only P760&P765, less for diffrent version of L9). LG L9 is made really well too. If you are in place where you get other variants I would be think carefully if custom ROMs are important for you cause now there isn't much you can choose from and unlocking the bootloader is quite complicated in comparsion to P760&P765.

Which rooting guide/roms do we use for optimus T, which is p509.. I understand its a version of the Optimus One.. but not only for the T, what about the U, the C, S, etc. etc.. do we follow for the optimus one?
only the optimus t can use anything optimus one. no other optimus phone should be using anything in the optimus one forum unless you want a brick as a phone (either that or your phone will have lots of problems)

Awesome, so the T can work then for optimus one.. I have an epic 4g, theres only one of those lol, too many optimus, my cousing has the C so i guess he's out of luck? I see your on an optimus T, how does that rom work for u? My friend with the Optimus T just wants to update it to gingerbread lol

and so far no problems on my optimus t. the optimus t is like a mirror image of the optimus one (both use the same hardware; only difference is that the optimus t is tmobile-branded)
Awesome.. what is the most stable rom for the optimus t right now? I clicked the link for yours and it says its a beta release? I got my epic on 2.3.4 custom kernel and urban decay as the rom lol runs smooth except for my sms, have to use a sms app because it force closes :-\ needone for the T that has no problems

the rom might still be a beta release, but trust me, it is really stable. there are always two versions of the rom: a stable release and a testing release (and even the testing release is pretty stable). the rom has only a few minor bugs:

Hi im goin to get a sub AU$200 android phone for my bday. The two im deciding between are the lg optimus one (AU$199) or the huawei sonic (AU$188).

lg P500 thread will only support P500
For me the cincher would be RAM. O1 has 512mb while Sonic just has 256, even though Sonic is newer. Plus if you like tinkering with custom ROMs and kernels, community support for O1 is better than any sub-$200 Android phone that I know.
That said, if you can get an O1 successor like Optimus Net or Optimus Hub, those are like O1 with better camera but same price, so I would put them in consideration too.
I consider this same phone. I think that optimus is better, cause has more RAM.
But sonic isn't bad. I don't know, I ask each friends but I still don't know. Can you help me?

What is the differnce between the screens. All i know is sonic is 3.5 and o1 is 3.2. But i thought they both had the same
resolution

My question is can i install LG optimus V ROM on LG Optimus One. I currently have Optimus One and wanted to install MIUI ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515991 of Optimus one on my device. They both are LG Optimus one devices with same specifications.

I forgot why, but I think it had to do something with different radios or something (I believe the P500 uses GSM and the OV uses CDMA; this is also the reason why the Optimus T, which uses GSM, can use P500 roms; I believe the OV and the Optimus S are compatible as they both use CDMA; I don't know if this is all correct, but you get the general idea). Also, if you could, they both would have the same development section right?
Also, if you wanted to flash MIUI, you do realize that there is MIUI for the P500?:

broke the display of my g2 yesterday. so i need a new phone and this time it should be a bit cheaper. found the g2 mini and it fits all my needs.
- now i am here and.........nothing?!?! i am shocked a xda section without any custom rom? not even a posting?? *holy.***** this can`t be real.
2nd phone on my list is the moto x which is a great phone of course but as all reviews mention: the battery is not a good one. after i use the g2 for a year i could not go back to a phone from which i allready know that the battery is bad and won`t hold a day with me (the g2 has the best battery from all smartphones i ever owned. its really impressive! so it would be really hard to go a step back)
Not to forget that the g2 mini also has the ir remote function (another feature which is REALLY great)....a sdcard slot!!! and a "good" battery which is removable! *yeah!*
in fact... i need a new phone.... g2mini is the best for my needs and the moto x won`t make me happy for sure (there are plenty of roms available....even one of my favs: slimrom)
plzzzzzzz gimme cm,slim,omni,pa or ANY OTHER of the great custom roms. just gimme a hint that ANYTHING will come.....

Dont know - looks possibble but you must know that devices must have the same CPU, the same quantity of RAM and good if will have the same resolution of screen. All of them are difference.

different models of cpu - that's what makes it not possible to port.
everything must be the same or similar - but model of cpu etc must be the same.

I think so, though not so possible. Probably Lollipop is the latest - our phone getting old.
If you PORT it will be frightening system.
