Its a Playlist not a video/ audio file .
A file with the M3U8 file extension is a UTF-8 Encoded Audio Playlist file.

i dont know, i got that file downloaded when i wanted to play tv online, can u suggest program that could open this?

Flash Player doesn't !

I have installed the latest Flash Player from Macromedia on my XDA1 (2003) 3 times. Each time it was apparently successful.
However, the machine refuses to recognise or play .swf files.
What does a guy have to do to get them working ??
files as in directly swf files or all sites with swf stuff ?
only tried the later and that dont cause any issues for me
not sure if the player support the executing of swf files directly though
Won't play files directly. Hmmm, good point thiugh, maybe it'll play files if loaded into internet explorer. Have to try that one.
on the site from macromedia, it says you need a standalone player if you want to execute the files directly, but i'm not able to open animations from within a website or my internetbrowser (IE) either.
Any suggestions?

Anyone figure out how to restore Avatar after rooting?

I have the apk reinstalled and the filed on my external Micro SD. The app doesn't seem to find it. I tried it with it on the internal SD and that didn't work either.
Anyone know?
Is the movie file in a folder titled "Movie"?

umm........
brb
yes it is.
When I open the app I have a choice between:
LOGO.mp4 (Which creates a nasty loop)
or
avatar_trailer.3gp
oohhhh..... It seems you are missing the Avatar movie completely if those are the only 2 files there. The movie is called avatar.dcf
Open your file explorer and navagate to your sd card and make sure avatar.dcf is in the Movie folder if it is not then you are in trouble.
On my phone there is no logo.mp4 maybe you need to download astro file manager in the market and rename LOGO.mp4 to avatar.dcf (who knows maybe it got renamed somehow.
yeah I have avatar.dcf in the movie file. I found another Movie file on the internal SD. I'm copying now. We'll see what happens.
You can also play the movie through the default samsung video player. Have you tried that?
so after a reboot the app sees the movie now....it just won't play it.
What the heck?

yeah....its says file type not supported
Have you tried a factory reset? I have heard that that has fixed the issue for other people.
since you said the file was in another "movie file" on the internal SD (I guess u mean folder), when you "copied" the file like you said, sometimes it gets renamed the extension from .dcf to .3gp, in that case, when you tried to open the movie it will say file type not supported... make sure the extension is .dcf
i think one of the mods caused a malfunction (a2sd/lag fix/ext hack..) or During "bloatware cleanup" a critical DRM process/file was removed.
i have the problem: "licence expired" no fix yet, too bad..

MX player unable to view data in /data folder

Hi Guys,
MX player is not able to list the videos i have in /data/.
Can somebody help me out here in this.
Cheers!!!!
Go into preferences and select folder. Choose add and then Choose folder up until yourrwat the / and select the data folder. Worked for me.
Sent from my BNTV250 using xda premium
actually i have some folder "videos" in /data which i am not able to select.. any guidance on selecting it...
Cheers!!!
You might check to see if the folder starts with a period. MX Player "hides" files and folders that have a period in front, unless told not to in Settings.

Just a guess, it might be an os problem. In that case, hold tight for cm

MX video player should be able to see your data folder. You may want to check your permissions.
Any reason why you don't just move the folder?

Hello,
I have similar problem posted in another forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23725226&postcount=20
Did not solve this so far!
Cheers
u need to make ur data folder read for all types of users.
if u have a file browser such as es file explorer or root explorer you can change permissions, make sure to check all the read checkboxes and apply the changes.
mx video player should detect that folder and all subfolders...
Something I just noticed. If the videos you want to play are associated with another app, MX Player will not list them for playing.
Clear any associations you may have applied to other video playing apps.
Android 11 don't allow apps to access data folder that's the issue. The scan works in older devices give a solution to access that folder in android 11 and the problem will be solved

Hungama Music and Video app, How to import downloaded videos to pc? please help

help!!!!!!!
I have installed Hungama app from Google playstore now after that is downloaded some videos from this app and the video are there inside the application only,
then i installed ES file explorer where i can access the android/data/com.hungama.myplay.activity/files/video/.
inisde this folder all the videos can be found but the problem is that every video is having a filename with extension .cache
at first time when i entered to the folder and copied one from them and pasted there in same folder than moved the copy to another folder and renamed the filename by changing only its extension from .cache to .mp4 while having the app running in background, after renaming the file with .mp4 extension i tried to open it with MX video Player, it was played well without any buffering like an file in sdcard. i thought its easy, therefore selected all the files from that folder and copied them to another location in the sd card and tried to rename all files at once by changing their file extension from .cache to mp4 ,
But this time MX player and every mp4 player failed and now also no video is playing outside that particular app.
What could be the solution?? please post your suggestions soon,, and help!!!!
if possible can anyone here check this video file for the error why it cant be played after playing once in android MX player...

Tested on app version 5.2.18
When the app opens a .cache file, it "decrypts" it. When a file is decrypted, its name will have "decrypt" at the end
EX: encripted "audio_134298.cache"
decrypted "audio_134298decrypt.cache"
So, my solution was to download an FTP server on my phone, then connect to it through windows CMD and download the decrypted songs with a wildcard
(Make sure to CD into wherever you wanna download the songs first BEFORE doing the commands)
Code:
ftp -i
open
PHONE_IP PORT
cd Android/data/com.hungama.myplay.activity/files/track/
mget *decrypt.cache
mdelete *decrypt.cache
When I did the process described above, there were only 21 decrypted songs (Even though my library has +500 songs) (I don't know if the same 21-rule applies to videos), so you'll have to press PLAY (from the hungama app) 21 times, and then repeat the download process (mget and then mdelete to free up space)
After that's done, I fired up "Bulk Rename Utility" and changed all extensions to .mp3 (since I was converting music), and also removed the "decrypt" characters from the filenames.
But BEWARE, decrypted files are not the final form of the mp3; If you listen to them you will only hear giverish.
But at least we now have meta-data.
I would post a link to one of these files, but:
a) I don't have enough reputation to post links
b) Copyright
At this point it might just be better to write down a list of all your songs and re-download them from hungama<dot>com
Hope this helps
First of all navigate to the browser where it saves the file and Remove .nomedia File from that folder not browse the folder in MX or VLC and Enjoy the videos

It's not uncommon that an app creates files that other apps don't need to access, or shouldn't access.
