I have a question that I could not get answered by searching.
When I am on a call and another person calls in I get the call waiting beep but I don't want to hear that sound.
Is there any way to mute the call-waiting tone?
Of course, I am using I9300.
Its very simple

Hi people,
I have a question that i could not find the answer anywhere
under settings/call/call alert/alerts on call there are 4 options. Off/ sound/voice/vibration
i tried all of them while making and outgoing call or having an incoming call. there were no changes. What are these options for? Where and how do they work?
An old thread but still unanswered
I bought i9100 recently and am looking for the same answer
Anyone, any ideaz ??
is theres a way i can silent the sound when u r on ur phone and theres a 2nd call it makes a sound... how can i mute that annoying thing
Probably settings, call, call alerts, alerts on call, none.
Or turn off call waiting, since you won't know there's a call waiting anyway.
thanks what happen is that when im talkin to someone and theres a 2nd caller the 1st person heard the beep of the 2nd call and thats plain annoying
But that's the whole point of call waiting, to notify you someone is trying to call you. Lol

Only you (as receiver of the second call) should be notify of the 2nd call.
But very often the person you are speaking with hears beeps too.

Hi, just a simple question, is it possible to answer calls by automatically lifting the phone towards your ear? (Similar to that of calling someone by placing the phone near your ear in the messaging app)
Sorry if this has already been asked. I am unable to find a similar thread as suggested by the forum
Thanks in advance!
No, you cant. not really a good solution either, Answering your calls in your pocket when walking etc...
Would be a nice feature.

Ive a problem with the swype to answer call on the S3, i find it really annoying and "slow". Is there any other way to answer calls actually? Like pressing the homebutton maybe?

You could try to use Tasker. I've seen people mimic smart call with it so might be able to use similar thing but for answering an incoming call?

Ah, great. Thank you. Not easy to find actually.
Proximity Talk does exactly that. put the phone to your ear and it answers the call. It can also turn on speaker automatically when you move it away from your year, take out speaker automatically when you put the phone back to your year, and also hang up calls just by putting the phone face down... try it by downloading it in the play store
thanks for the responses, I'll make sure to try them out later. Cheers!
What I want is a bit complicated. But I'm sure there might be an app which can do it. I've enabled call waiting in my Android. However, I don't wanna know the person on my other end to know I'm talking with someone else. What I want is, the other caller should get the normal ringing tone while I'm already talking to other person. I've seen it in some cheap Samsung phones (2/3/4 years back).
I want that none knows while I'm talking. If I turn off call waiting, the other call will not be able to call me. The call will not go to the ringing process. I want one hear the ringing tone as if I'm talking to nobody. ANy app?

Hello,
I am currently using the Galaxy S3 i9300 and if the phone is in standby, I am getting the missed call alerts. But when I am currently on call and some other person is trying to call my number I am not getting that notification (even when I am on call nor after I end the call).
Previously, when I used to be on call and some other person called in between then I used to hear a beep sound during my call and a notification used to be shown on screen that I am getting another call. And after I ended the call that other call used to be shown in missed call alert. Now this is not happening.
Does anyone have any idea what`s wrong with the phone?
