Verizon S4 here how can I help / test ?
Also is this based off the new ME7 and not the MDK ?

Can't believe I barely saw this! Will definitely be trying this out :good:

It's MGA based

I couldn't get it to flash in recovery looked like it was going through it then failed at the end.

It fails when flashing the kernel. I swapped out the kernels and it flashed fine. However, upon booting I was greeted with a SystemUI fc and had no signal/network access. Not sure if this can be attributed to the kernel I switched or something else.
Edit: Sent the OP a pm for the config.gz. If you need it to be from a fully stock S4 I can probably get one tomorrow.
I had to restore my backup since I'm going out and getting a logcat didn't cross my mind till now :/

No that should be fine no need to be stock. I sent the info to @Jamison904 Thanks!
Ok the SystemUI and no signal/network I should be able to fix Sprint had similar issues.
I'll probably get 1 more test build out today then it's off to XDA DevCon for the weekend so I would say no updating till Monday...
What kernel did you use? and a logcat would be great help!

ok changed the kernel and a few other things
Beta 3

I think there is a problem with your updater-script. After pulling a log from twrp I noticed why the rom would not flash.
Code:
Flashing kernel
package_extract_file: no boot.img in package
script aborted: assert failed: package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img")
assert failed: package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img")
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/Downloads/Alpha_VZW_S4_5.0_Beta3.zip'
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/Downloads/Alpha_VZW_S4_5.0_Beta3.zip'
So I changed it to "boot.lok" in the updater-script and it flashed fine. However, after booting up there's no signal or network access. I'm heading off to work within the half hour so I can't do any troubleshooting atm.

Now it makes sense why the kernel I swapped it for worked perfectly. The kernel was still loki'd but it was named "boot.img".

[Q] [Help] New update

Im trying to update to a new 2.2.2 update that bell just released for canadian users.
I download it, I press install, it reboots my phone into android recovery.
It begins to install the update, then it shows me this:
verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/app/AccountAndSyncSettings.apk". "a bunch of numbers", "A bunch of numbers", E:Error in /cache/Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted.
Can anyone help? Its really frustrating not being able to update.
My phone was rooted, deodexed, and I flashed a few .zip's to it. I factory reset it before I attempted to do this update.
HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
This is the menu I'm in when I talk about "android recovery"
However, this is not my phone. This picture is just to jog your memory if you dont know what im talking about.

Remove my battery and reboot it? The update said it would reboot itself.
Also, what does the picture I'm describing mean?
Thanks.
are we talking about 2.3.4 or what kind of update?
It means your phone is rooted and you need to do an SBF flash
Pretty sure that is the recovery screen. If I remember correctly if you touch above the search button it should take you into the recovery menu

He's talking about the update from Bell that came out today. Its similar to the 4.1.83 update from At&t
Sorry guys its the 2.2.2 update released for bell atrices (in canada)
There is no menu unfortunately.
It looks like the bottom portion of this image, there is no menu.
Try pressing the bottom left and right corners, should bring up that screen.
Cheers!
Since it's 43MB is size, I am guessing glad root or my util should be able to preserver root using frozenfish in /osh/sbin.
Downloading it now, Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip in /cache, I'll upload it to my dropbox for folks when it's done.
Cheers!
How can those who have flashed 2.1.1 get this update?
You would need stock Bell firmware for an update to apply I would think. Probably not much different that what you have anyway, I'll see if I can nab the radio from it though.

Thanks so much. That brought up the screen.
However, my update failed. I'll post the exact error or PM you if I can't figure it out for myself.
Will that update be flashable via CWM? And where can I find your dropbox.
Regards,
Mag
I'll post when I get it done.
Here you go:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23800522/Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23800522/Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.crc
/cache/recovery/command = --update_package=CACHE:Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip
Frozenfish works to get root access again, in fact your su and shsu binaries stay in the system folder, all you have to do is chmod 06755 /system/bin/shsu etc.
Cheers!

Well, if you are using a Bell Atrix in Canada and it's working right, then why not? How is unknown to me right now, the files are in the zip, might be able to do a swap in an sbf, not sure.
Just got 1850 in a speed test for upload indoors, fastest I've had yet, previous was ~1780, that could be a good reason.
Cheers!

I had the same error, I odexed my system and copied the zip and crc back to cache, and did the update again, it asked me if I wanted to install it, and as it was doing that I grabbed the command file from /cache/recovery and put it on my sdcard. So really, all you need to do is have those 3 files in /cache and reboot into android recovery and you should be good to go.
I am thinking that it's the patch files that need to have the original files in order to work.
Cheers!

Awesome More roms for our old phone thanks
Managed to get it to boot, but as @Troubadour666 reported, it freezes after no more than a minute, so still we are not able to test at all. Wifi is apparently working, but baseband is missing here aswell.
Great work @sooti .. Thank you for keeping developing to our old device ;(
OK got correct device repo thanks to @blinoff82
I will try again, it should work next build but will have the same issues as cm-12.0 for i9100 since i'll be using @Caio Schnepper repo
EDIT: Cooking new build, cross your fingers
New build is up, used Lysergic-Acid' repo this time so it should work since nameless is based on CM
EDIT: RIL might not work since i now see i missed a commit, ill upload a fixed one soon, the rest should work
Hope I will can get into download mode after flashing this

On a lighter note, I don't have a sport; but, you do. You want to run a custom ROM. Here I present a 4.4.4 kernel. I did not build the whole ROM because the SM-G860P runs SM-G900P ROMs with a G860P Kernel. I will do a full build after this kernel has sufficient testing.
Step 1: Flash CM11 ROM for SM-G900P(kltespr)
Step 2: Flash kernel
Step 3: Reboot
Step 4: Report findings
UPDATE: flashable zip attached
NOTE: g860pkernel.zip is not a flashable zip.

Is that firmware/radio zip flashable through Twrp?
Also, is force encryption disabled?
Which gapps do you recommend?
Do you think I could ask more questions in one reply? ☺

Yes force encryption is disabled. Gapps are not required as this is a stock Google rom not a aosp. The firmware radio zip is not flash able through twrp it is a Windows executable fastboot file (unless this has changed since I flashed it awhile ago). Somewhere it explains how to use the firmware zip file I'll see if I can find it for you.
Ok so looking at the zip file for the firmware I believe it has changed from what it was when I flashed the e version of firmware and radio. It appears now that you do not have to use windows/fastboot to flash this file anymore. It looks like to me u should be able to flash through twrp. Can someone else confirm?
I'm 99.999% positive looking at the zip file it can be flashed via twrp.
Anyone dirty flash this over the E build? Also, will having Franco kernel be an issue or can I just flash away?

Are you on stock e rom? I don't see any issue flashing from E. Its really pretty minor changes so you shouldn't have any issues. But of course always make a backup and clean flash if you have issues.. Also Franco kernel will work fine with any 5.1 build. I don't believe the boot images have changed throughout all these new images
Yep, I'm actually on his E rom, odex, with Franco. I went from D to E dirty. Let's try it again, eh?

Is there an Odex version of this? I've been on your odex e build for a while and wanted to try the latest. Thanks!
i am trying to install some script in the init.d
but i cant find that folder. This does have init.d correct?
Would it be possible for the original poster to make a Stock 47M ROM that is NOT rooted (but DOES disable forced encryption!)?
I'm having a serious problem with Real Racing 3 on this build. It won't start. EA's support says 3.2.2 fixes issues with nexus 6 and 5.1. I think they are full of crap, but as I'm rooted, I know any crash reports or stuff I send them will likely be tossed as they don't 'support' rooted devices. So I'm hoping to get a T-Mobile build that's not encrypted but also not rooted just to see if the RR3 crash occurs and send them a crash dump.
Thanks in advance, or if you know who DOES have a 47M unrooted/decrypted flashable ROM I'd appreciate it.
Randy

THIS ROM IS EDITED TO FLASH ON ANY VARIANT OF THE GALAXY NOTE EDGE
UPDATE (July 16, 2017): Until I can make this work, you should download micky387's special version of twrp and also use their version of the rom. Sorry for the inconvenience.
This is a edited version of @micky387's ResurrectionRemix Nougat Rom for the Galaxy Note Edge. His rom has been setup to work on specific versions of the Note Edge. I took the ROM and edited out that code. This is for anyone that doesn't have a version of the Note Edge that's listed as supported on micky's thread.
ALL CREDIT GOES TO @micky387 for actually developing the rom. I just edited it to work on the other Note Edge variants.

Hi.
The download file is not flash able. How can you an i update my 5.8.2 ver.?
Apparently, Micky said that TWRP 3.1 for TMO doesn't have the necessary BusyBox links built into it.
IThat's why there are install errors. I removed the code as well.
But got Error 6.
I'm trying to figure out how to bake the BB links into TWRP 3.1 for TMObile, as TWRP hasn't released anything official for TMO beyond 2.8
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

I'll be looking into this as best I can. I did some research made some possible links to the fact that the installer script might have some issues. I'll double check to make sure that is not the case. However, my luck is different the Canadian variant Note Edge can have this flashed on it just fine. But TMobile must be doing something different in regards to this issue.

I'm sorry to hear that. I did some research on the error in question and found that it might be a problem with the ROM's installer script. I'll take a look the next time i get a chance
