Try any touch screen calibration app..
it tell whether it is software or hardware issue..
Phone warranty does nt support any hardware issue.. if it is a hardware den u must go to service centre

i know it is hardware issue. But wihch part i am not sure.
This issue is common actualy. Are there any body had this issue and give service phone ?
Which part is changed by service mainboard? sensors? touch screen ...etc
please someone give answer.
I will buy the required part and change myself.
I dont wanna give extra money to service.
I think there is no cheap solution .
i have to used to use my phone with this problem.
This is not necessarily a hardware problem, your video shows you have pattern lock. Change the lock back to slide and reboot phone, maybe this will help, if not connect the phone to PC and run update service in PC companion, follow instructions and reinstall the software (backup all data before this). By the way you will not get any parts in the market so if it's a hardware problem you will ultimately have to go to Sony service centre.

I have a problem with a touchscreen. This can be seen that in the lower left corner of the screen, the phone detects a second touch. I put a screen shot of the presentation of how it looks in the test. This occurs on every rom 2.3 +, excluding Glsmt 2.1. When I plug the charger problem disappears. Whoever knows how to fix it?

Hi
someone fix this bug?
My motorola atrix is a problem with the touch after I managed to release "root", you have to play lower down the keys to be hit from above, in addition to the menu buttons do not work, but half of it straight up works best, does anyone have any solution?
Perhaps a better bios reset, or a full format! hardware will be? or software?
Somebody help!

This problem is fixed in KPY, i have this one "GT-S5830_XEU_S5830XWKPY-S5830XEUKP1-S5830XWKPA-S5830XWKPY4" and problem is gone.
I have the same problem..
My phone registers random touches in the lower right area, approximately above the middle of the home and back button. I have Indian firmware S5830DDKQ5, and the problem started just after I upgraded to it by official Kies update. Before this, in Froyo, this never happened. I thought maybe it was a hardware problem in my phone or the screen protector was causing it, or maybe something broke due to some fall to the ground, but you have the same problem, originating from 2.3+ roms, so perhaps not. I have not tried any rom except the stock one.
icemanhi, you say it is fixed in XE/XW KPY but KPY would come before KQ5, wouldn't it? I'd like to not go to an older firmware, because we don't know what the changes between them are.

Even when the phone is kept undisturbed on a flat surface untouched it still happens...
icemanhi, you say it is fixed in XE/XW KPY but KPY would come before KQ5 and I don't want to put something other than the stock official firmware. I cannot just keep changing roms either, I don't have time for that..
Please if anyone has a fix then share it.

take your phone to samsung service center and tell them about this problem
But...
I can't make the problem show up on demand.. the people at the service center will say, show me what happens, but it's random, so I can't show it to them. Then they'll say, "the problem is not happening in front of us, so we can't do anything." Still, I'll ask, but would prefer a different solution. Thanks.

I have been suffering with this problem Very Dhambad!!!
someone please help me to fix my phone!!!
This is the problem (youtube.com/watch?v=J6LEKZx1SEs) Xperia mini Overheats and then back and menu key Activating itself and i can't do f** thing on it
i have been trying to do following things
1. Find Sony Ericsson Service center (No Service SE service center in my country)
2. trying to cool my phone (yes it worked, so bad they haven't built a mobile fan for that!)
3. Curse SE for building ST15i
4. deactivating back menu key and using virtual keypad app (this works well until i find out the screen gating unresponsive i cannot delete a wiget when overhets)
i think driver update will help to solve this issue
i have been keeping eye on this (talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/23778?start=720&tstart=0) webblog (finaly i am not the onle one )
as per advice of ikko17, you need to go to the nearest SE Service Center, and look for a technician (not the attendant) and ask if Calibration tools/fix for xperia mini is available then let them do the calibration if they have,.
I had same isuue with my st15, I gave it to service center, after 3 days they gave my phone back and said that the have caliberated it, but after 2 hours of use, the buttons reactivated again, so I gave it to servica center again and they said that they cant cant fix it and they gave me a replacement certificate and they kept my phone, I gave that certificate to the store I bought the phone from and they gave me a new ST15i after 2 days
so ask the service center guy for replacement certificate
Well thanks guys, but the thing is...
1.I am in sri lanka i have found no sony ericsson service center in my country.
2.My phone have no warranty and (yes my bad, i had to think twice before i buy this dahm **** of peace on Stoke Seller)
3 My phone is Rooted and soon i am going to try CM7 ROM onit
This is i need to know form you
1.Will CM7 OR other Custom ROM have different drivers to the Menu and back touch(maybe heat) keypad
2.Or other way?
I've read on gsmarena that updating to 2.3.4 removes this issue, did you updated it, which version are you running?
YES! First Thing i done is that!!!
Build Number is 4.0.2.A.0.42
img607.imageshack.us/img607/240/screenshot201112011957.png
then I'm afraid you wont get any solution other than searching for some service center, seding it to some other company for repair or contacting SE if you're able to caliberate it yourself
I have been using my mini for almost 3 months now. And it didn't gave me that menu and back key malfunction. Although, I think I've managed to recreate the problem by charging the unit, turning on 3G, WiFi, browsing and then played a game such as blood&glory. Within the less than 10minutes, the phone heated up and soon after the back keys kept on clicking. Turned the unit off by removing the battery and then placed the battery at the aircon to cool it off. After it cooled off along with the phone, put it back in and turn it on. It works normally again.
My question is, what were you exactly doing before the problem occurred?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA App
I Think it is a Manufacturing Driver Calibrate problem.
But, I already have tried that, you know what they told me?
"Android what android?" something like that thy do know about Phone Hardware but not software(Android) while i can solve this by myself(As SE say they simply recaliberate Device) I need those recaliberation steps, Please If you are able to get those for me it is a Big Help!!!
This phone needs to be handed in at a repair centre to be either repaired or exchanged.
Now, since you don't have your warranty left this will be a cost issue as it no longer can be treated at no cost for you.
If you want to get in touch with a repair centre you should either ask your dealer for help or call/email the local support team.
The support for Sri Lanka is handled from Philippines.

Do you know if there is a fix that can be done, I heard somebody had their phone taken the se service and they updated the SK15i to .62 and then added a patch for the heat sensitivity so it dont happen again and they guy reported that it never happened again?.
Anyway we can do this at home, like we root devices? I'm wondering if we can get access to this patch?
Thanks

My phone's proximity sensor stopped working, when i restard it works for one or two times and its not working again,
sometimes it is operating normally but about one hour later its stopping again . i was on stock rom and i tried different versions too.
i checked xda before writing this post and i saw one of SG2 owner phones front panel had changed by techical service.
my question is i send the phone to service today, and if there is mechanical problem on my device , they will change it.
So what is yours opinion about it? Is it a hardware or software problem?
Thanks a lot for the answers from now
Is your phone stock?
Have you tried re calibrating?
yes it is and i calibrated 4 or 5 times
any idea about my problem

Either
Have you a case on the phone if so remove it and test as this is the usual sensor culprit .
have you factory reset the phone ??
If not do so and test
Warranty is void if the phone has root or custom rom or rom counter is above zero be aware before returning to service .

thanks i removed the case before testing and yes i did factory reset before trying,
i used jig before giving it to service,
i know something wrong with the proximity sensor but the thing is confusing my mind; the sensor sometimes operates normally, its stopping working about 1 hour later or something like that, i hope the service decide there is problem with it. Otherwise it is a long process (about 3 or 4 weeks). I dont want to hear from service : there is no issue with your phone after waiting 1 mounth.

It looks like a hardware problem. Ask for a replacement, my friend.
i asked for replacement because i know it is the best phone till SG3 but as i mentioned up there i have doubt is service gonna agree with me?
i got my phone from service today, and they told me there is no problem with the sensors they upgraded to new firmware. I checked again the sensors by *#0*# test. The proximity sensor was same. The funny thing is a guy from technical servis said, there is no proximity sensor in this phone, and i asked which function of phone shuts of the screen while i m making calls? he said it is the light sensor.
i think it is gonna take time....
i have a problem with the menu key light, it does not turn on ( back key is ok).
anyone has the same problem or a fix??
thanks
before this are u using other launcher application or stock launcer?
i think the sony ericsson launcer from nerodroid v3

When I slided the keyboard out the light went greenish and then turned off and from then never came onagain.. I just noticed now that when I close the keyboard the light blings and turns off but the brightness is very low , you nearly notice it!!! Do you have any solution;
i dont have any idea.. maybe hardware problem??
Thats what I thought!!!!
if you still have warranty u can send the phone to center or maybe u try reflash to stock rom?
i tried flashing stock rom but it was the same. and i dont think i have warranty because i live in australia and i bought the phone from ebay which i think it was from china, i dont know if the warranty is valid when you buy from other countrys!!!!!

repair using PC companion and install both kernel and ROM, if that doesn't works, calibrate touch drivers using ST15i overheat fix method
hello friends. this is my first post because i got a problem with my xperia mini pro.
i have to tell you it from the beginning because i think it is important to understand where is the problem. it was about some moths ago when i had problems when my phone was in standby and someone called me, it happened sometimes that my touch screen didnt responded and i couldnt take that call and had to restart phone. after restart it was ok. it didnt happen so often but with tim (i think another month) i happened maybe once every day. and maybe a month after that i first got stuck during i was doing something in my phone - not in locked state. sometimes didnt helped even one restart so i had to remove battery for a while but after that it was fine. at least for a while. i think that problems with touchscreen (or maybe better with digitizer) happened almost every day. i tried also reflash some custom rom i used before but it didnt help. so it got into state when touchscreen stopped working and i was very happy when it started to work for a while. it happed sometimes after factory reset in android service menu and once after many times reflash of rom and kernel but only till next restart. i also locked bootloader and gave there stock rom and many times reflashed stock rom but nothing helped now.
Lets say i also tried some advices in that that tutorial about 10 different way to repair bricked touchscreen. but i am not sure if it is actually hardware or software issue. it is very important to aim my effort. i dont know if i shouldnt buy some whole touchscreen+lcdf or just digitizer for sk17i on ebay or on the other hand try to solve software issue and reflash, restart, reset bricked touchscreen.
i dont have much experience like some guy in mobile phone service. in my mobile service they told me it is hardware issue and they will repaire it but it is very expensive from them. but i dont believe that guys at all so i write here.
My phone is after the warranty so i got an idea to buy sopme used sk17i with a warranty, change display with mine and give it into the mobile phone service where they will change the touchscreen for free and i could sell that both phones after that. i dont want that xperia anymore. but this can only work if it a hardware problem
so what do you think guys?
thanks for your advices

If you did a clean flash with stock rom & that didn't helped than its an hardware problem!
But you are luck if your touch is miss calibrated or its an overheating issue.
Do your mini's soft buttons starts pressing itself?

i solved it with new lcd + digitizer from ebay and made some manual assembly. my phone now works great, so i suppose problem was caused by hardware
