[Q] Android 4.2 smooth with Samsung apps? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys as im looking for a more smoother experience on my phone, im thinking of downloading a custom rom such as cyanogen rom which removes all unnecessary bloatware. However im wondering is it possible to keep the stock samsung apps :dialer, planner and memo e.g. is there somewhere I can download these apps and flash them?
Thanks

No. These apps don't work on non samsung roms. Samsung roms exist with bloatware removed.
Please don't ask questions in general. That's what q&a is for

[Q] Can you remove the Touchwiz UI?

Hi,
I intended to buy a SGT 10.1 but this morning at the shop I noticed that it had the Touchwiz UI. This represents a problem for me because I like the look and feel of the stock Android, and brings concerns about future updates because from my experience models with custom UIs take longer to update than those with the stock UI.
My question is, can you remove the Touchwiz UI while still keeping the ROM the device comes with? Also, if you can't: can you install a stock ROM where everything works?
Thanks in advance.

Moving to Q&A
Yes just flash a stock rom after you root
Plus they come stock

Hi gtuansdiamm, thanks for your reply.
Can you point me to any stock roms here on XDA? The ones I've seen seem to be "stock" as in "the one that comes preinstalled", as in "the one with Touchwiz". I hope I'm wrong with that one.
Also, are stock roms for the 10.1 fully functional? Or is there any downside to them?

Cyanogen 4.0.3 Samsumg Apps

I have flashed cyanogen mod 9 on my sgs2. I love the rom. I know it's a weird question, but does anyone know where or how to install both samsung app store and samsung music hub? Are the apk's available from anywhere?
You can't on cm9, install the samsung ics rom if you want samsung apps.
Thank you for the info. Sacrificing those two things is well worth having cm9. I was thinking it was as simple as installing the apks - I assume it needs samsung framework to run

Stock ICS Rom

Hi All,
Sorry in advance if I have either posted this in the wrong forum or if this question has been asked many times before (I have searched the forum).
I just got a Samsung Galaxy S III on T-Mobile UK. Previously I had the Orange San Francisco with CyanogenMod, the Nexus 1 with CyanogenMod and an Archos 101G9 with stock ICS.
I rooted the device fine and then started to uninstall some apps which were pre-installed using the app removal tool within Titanium Backup. I then noticed that many of the stock android apps like calendar and email were not there. Instead, there is different email app and a calendar app called 'S Planner'.
I then installed the Omega Rom which had less apps which were pre-installed but I still had the problem were the basic google apps like email and calendar were still not there. I also noticed that the normal android sounds and keyboard were not part of this Rom.
I there a rom out there for my phone which is just basic android ICS? The less apps pre-installed, the better. Is CyanogenMod9 stable enough? The reason I like CyanogenMod is that they provide a list of the APKs which can safely be removed.
Thanks,
Dan

[Q] ROM questions. Please help

Hey everyone i have a few questions about cyonogenmod 11 or basically any kitkat launcher. I have a Galaxy S3 SGH-T999
1. if i change to any other rom will i still have the gimmicky features of samsung like smartstay, smartscreen etc?
2, is there any rom that keeps these features as well as the stock camera app?
3. is there any Galaxy S5 based rom for my Galaxy S3 T999?
4. What are the best and fastest kernels for these ROMs?

wrong forum. this is i9300. t999 is here
but in fact:
1) no, samsung gimmicks are based on samsung framework and won't work on aosp based roms, either you find alternatives or someone who has ported it (what is quite unlikely)
2)no, see 1
3) ask in the correct forum
4) best fastest kernel questions violate the rules. test for yourself and make your own opinion
