Hi guys my tethering is not working on my phone I have tried multiple roms but without luck.

Tethering ? are you talking about wifi tethering or usb tethering to PC?
Thanks I mean wifi tethering but I got it working with some old sense 3 rom idk where was the problem but thanks

I looked around but couldn't find anything to help me when you get an error while trying to tether the x10 via wifi. Whenever i try to use something like barnacle i get an error. any help would be appreciated

I is based on android 2.3, and I don't think barnacle work on 2.3 roms with the X10, at least that is why I still uses my 2.2 rom, because I depend on tethering in daily life...
Hi, I have an x10, When i try to use it as a wifi hotspot my laptop will connect, but with no internet access. and while the hotspot is on the internet will not work on the x10 either.
Barnacle comes up with some sort of intializing error.
The phone is rooted and running 2.3.3.
Any help getting the hotspot working would be great, thanks.

try troubleshooting the problems
i can give you another option though.... you could install fxp125 cm7.2 i am using it and wifi hotspot works like a charm.....

Hi, on stock SE firmware.
I have tried an external app, as mentioned in my original post. (Barnacle)
not really wanting to flash a new rom, as its an x10i and dont want to lose any functionality.
but if it was the only way i would flash another rom.

That's quite unusual if it doesn't work on stock.

it was on another network before we got the phone though, would that make a difference?
so, is there a fully working rom i can flash, doesnt need to be special. just a full reflash of the same android version with working everything.

If i am rooted, Stock kernel , and have a UKB ROM, why i cant have the WIFI Tethering to work.
I am not a VzW customer and whenever i try to check it asked for a VzW SIM.
Can someone clear up this points:
1) can we have WiFi Tethering ?
2) If it works is it only with VzW SIM ?

Download WiFi Tether here:

Set profile to generic ics/jb (wlan0) and check routing fix. See if that works.

The Mobile Hotspot is built into the stock ROM. Is that what you are trying to do?

I tried that mobile hotspot under the mobile network sharing, but when i tried to connect with my pc, the tmobile won't let me do it. I flash the new htc one JB 4.3 ROM, then I installed wifitether_treve,mod, and it won't work.But when i installed this app on JB 4.1, it did work perfectly for internet share on my laptop. My phone is rooted, and i want flash back to 4.1, currently it still JB 4.3. I don't know how to set this app to work. There are two ways that you may help me. One is can you help me setting wifi tethering for JB 4.3? or can you tell me how to downgrade to JB 4.1? Thank you for your help.
What happens when you try and tether on the stock app? Also what rom are you on?

Installed the stock 4.4.2 update rom from santod040 since I need MHL to work and I can't find an app that works to enable wifi tether. I'm patiently waiting for the new viper rom 4.0.0, but I don't know of it will support MHL. Anyone have any luck getting the stock tether to work? Is there a way to change the entitlement check like on the Droid Bionic? Thanks in advance.
