Hello Guys:
I have an infuse 4g, rooted, running cyer sgs4 style on 4.2.2 android. My phone's memory is sufficient and I set the governor to performance at 1600mhz, but I still get this sort of lag on subway surfers. It's like the touch screen freezes, the character still moves forward, but I can't do anything and it lasts for 6-7 seconds, by which I usually crash into something. It happens very frequently, almost every run. I always have 130+ mb free memory, what is happening and anyone else experiencing this issue? Thanks for any help!

So this has been happening to me for a while now on multiple firmwares, but I just today started to realize how widespread the problem is/might be. The simplest example of what happens is that my games will randomly pause while I'm playing them. I don't mean freeze up--the game will lag for a sec, then it will actually be paused as if I hit the notification bar or something. Splashtop THD is also giving me problems. At first I thought it was the app, but others have been saying they don't get frequently dropped connections. For some reason my connection drops every few minutes even with great reception. Lastly, my wifi will randomly disconnect. I have great reception and speeds, but sometimes it will just stop working and I have to turn wifi off and back on again. I really feel like all 3 of these quirks are related, and I would love for them to all GO AWAY.
Anyone else having a similar experience?
try a reboot to see if it clears things up.
RYAN used REBOOT! TRANSFORMER PRIME is unaffected!
Have you forced GPU usage in developer options?
Not yet, will try tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
EDIT: did a few games of Fruit Ninja and it seems to be fixed, but I'm anxious to see if it takes care of my problem with splashtop. Thanks for the tip!
Don't know whether this is related or a separate problem, but I've been having weird behaviour with Android Market. If I click on an update notification to jump to the Market it will sometimes drop me back to home after a few seconds, often closing both Market and the last app I was in at the same time, they both disappear from the task list too. It goes the other way sometimes with Market randomly popping open without warning.

I have the same issue, though it mostly happens with the stock browser and Pulse.
After playing around with the force rendering setting for a while, I think the problem still persists but is much less frequent. I'll be so happy if nVidia ever gets their freaking kernel/drivers to work right -.-
Recently, out of sudden, something got wrong with my Android (on Xperia Arc). From time to time, when screen is blocked, something starts to turn on and off the screen. It keeps going like this forever (switching every few seconds, then staying on for few seconds and going blank again) until I unlock the screen. After I unlock the screen I cannot of course determine which process it might have been. On the other hand having screen switched half a day, drains the battery very quickly.
Therefore I am looking for an app, which can monitor and, what is most important, log in some file CPU load (not a total one but divided into processes). It doesn't have to be a task killer or battery optimizer. Just simple logger will do. Anyone knows such app?
Of course any other ideas how to deal with the problem will be much appreciated.
You can use cpu spy. Also looking up a logcat might help you see what's the problem.

in my quest to get a better battery life out of my phone (seen people saying 2 days battery life) i have tried 6-8 roms, 3 kernels and 5 modems. all of which give me less then 10-14hrs usage (i know thats fairly average for some of us)
IS there an app that can change cpu speeds based on what app is on the foreground?
my regular usage is:
1200mhz,
ondemand,
3g enabled all time,
~40mins talk time
~100sms
~45mins gaming/video (for train journey =D)
~5mins gps (to check for my bus home)
Push exchange emails
auto brightness
haptic feedback
Tablet-Mode
I have tested that for 70% of my daily usage this works fine for me:
500mhz,
lulzactive,
3g enabled all time,
manual exchange mail sync
but in testing games such as temple run i would need max 1ghz
(have yet to test with music yet... 720p video runs fine @ 800mhz and 1080p @ 1ghz)
i have seen there is a way to inject 3g to 2g toggle when screen is off, is there any way to do it without injecting into the zip? or inject directly into rom?
i think then i could run push emails without much problem. then my phone will really be ON DEMAND!
during 500mhz i notice a slight reduction in battery consumption (not as much as i thought however)
i am running D4ROM v10 with siyahkernel 3.1.2 with resurrection remix as dual booted rom. will prob be getting the 1900mah anker battery heard its decent and fits in normal cover, so yes please let me know if you do get longer then a day, and also if what i need is available (i have searched)
There is no need for such applications mate because android by itself handles the load balancing. The load increase/decrease is basically dynamic and hence you cant predict that.
Overriding that will only consume more battery.
well from the last 2 years of using android underclocking has always increased my battery quite a bit... even right now its consuming 2-3%/hr compared to 5/6% from 500mhz and 1200mhz in sleep, at the end it adds up!
I imagine Tasker could achieve your odd request, though I haven't checked.

I have got the tasker 7 day trial and i can honestly say it is amazing! takes android to a whole new level!
got 2g and underclock & screent timeout 20secs when screen off, then when i use dolphin it connects to 3g, when i play games it clocks to 1ghz 10mins screen timeout. when i plug in OTG usb stick it opens mx video player !
only problem i have is when the screen times out it underclocks (say if ive opened a game) then when i wake the device and unlock again, - the profile says it should clock to 1ghz... but it is staying at 800mhz (which is the screen off max clock speed...) - temporarily just pressing home going to recent apps and opening the game again
p.s. using around 2-3% on sleep/hr and 4-5%/hr with moderate usage (few texts, browsing, play store)
Been running CM10.2 JB Unofficial for a short while and liking it. I occasionally SSH into the phone (via SSHDroid) to do stuff at the command line ... recently it has become super-laggy, like I type stuff and it doesn't appear for a couple of seconds. I can't think of anything that's changed. Just for yucks, I changed the CPU governor to Performance so that it always runs at full clock speed. Didn't help, so I guess the problem has nothing to do with CPU speed. Wifi speed test from device seems okay, wifi is set to "keep on during sleep: always." I'm at a loss, since this came on seemingly out of nowhere, and the Android touch interface seems to be normally responsive. Help?
I got the 256/12 model F4 GT, MIUI 14.0.1 Android 13... Im facing the following issues....help? Please?
Speaking on the phone on speaker mode while playing CODM is very bad, they can't really hear me as it cuts out a lot unless I use headphones (even though I had no issues at all on galaxy S9 or even Honor 8x).
I sometimes get very bad lag while playing CODM. I close all apps then clear out everything using the pre-installed "boost speed" app to close apps and clear cache, and when that wasn't working tried different apps like ccleaner, and still the game lags unless I reboot (and even then sometimes that doesn't help, it still lags). I even lowered anti-aliasing settings and still have issues. (Even though I'm using a gameshark cooling fan, and this happens even before the phone heats up). Friends connected to the same network don't have issues so it's not a network issue.
Many times while on the phone while playing, trying to boost performance using the game turbo options will automatically tab out of the game and into the call (which cancels out the turbo). Trying to do it again will do the same: minimizes game and maximizes the call screen and cancels the turbo. This also happens after closing the game and trying to run the "boost speed" app to close other apps, before it's able to close background apps, it switches to the phone call. Keep in mind this doesn't always happen, but when it does, there's no way around it. I tried uninstalling updates to the caller app and reinstalling, no use.
Im considering romming to something else as I believe the software is very bad, but it's a 3 months old phone, I'd really rather not lose my warranty. Also I don't want to lose trigger button functionality. I was considering romming to the original black shark software but I'd really rather not rom for now. I tried reinstalling all the apps I'm having issues with and it didn't help.
Any ideas that could help? Would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
