Multiple root methods used with no success - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hi All,
I have attempted multiple methods to root my L9 p769. I have used the offline method with multiple KDZs. I have used the LGPWN.apk method on 10G, 20D, 20F without any luck. On every attempt, I install supersu to find that no su binary exists. My whole desire to root this thing is that I need to get my wifi tethering working again. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Merry Christmas

For lgpwn, you have to do it quickly for it to root the phone... If it doesnt work try 2 more times.

Ah persistence was the trick, installing LGPWN worked this time. Thanks so much. Also thanks for the tether link. Ideally I want to get my foxfi running again but this program looks like it doesn't trigger the com.lge.upsell.

[Q] BRICKED after unlocking bootloader

So i finally unlocked my bootloader on my p769. After i unlocked it i went to recovery and restored my backup to a 20F T-mobile P769 rom (yes i know this was stupid, I should have installed recovery via fastboot while I had it open). My touch screen is borked and I have no recovery set up.
Things I've tried:
To turn on USB debugging, the backup i restored does not have a homescreen so I cannot access the settings to turn it on.
The KDZ offline flash method, but it always stops at 15% even though i've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers countless times.
"Upgrade recovery" via the LG software tool. It gets to the part where it downloads the file and even after 2 hours it doesn't download. My hosts file did not have LGs IP when i tried this.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a button combination to force my phone to go to fastboot mode? Or can i got from s/w upgrade mode to fastboot mode? This is really frustrating.
Alright so i managed to turn USB debugging on, but i have no root or recovery. Is there anything I can do from here?
EDIT: managed to get root and installed busybox the correct busybox. i can't seem to get the recovery to install though (im using the l9 recovery installer APK. It says the recovery is installed but it won't reboot into recovery and the LEDs dont flash when i power on the phone). My phones touchscreen is still borked.
That LG software tool never worked for me and I never used it. Find a kdz uploaded and keep the phone on. No sw mode. I've been reading a lot of stuff on here about u boot and adb. . .never did any of that with other phones but I haven't bricked this one either to test any methods. I'm rambling. . .let need know what happens.

Even if your bootloader is unlocked you still have to install a ROM that is made for your phone. Just go to backup/restore then restore from sd and pick your backup. Good luck!

All worth it huh
Plus you can pretty must leave the kdz flashing alone now, and you don't have to rely on a second init recovery.

Can't root l76920F with lgpwn apk

Earlier today I tried to unlock my bootloader by going to 10G then 20B, but I could not make it work after numerous attempts. So, I offline flashed back up to 20F. Since my touchscreen is still reversed I am now trying to root and install CWM to flash the touchscreen fix. Unfortunately, root no longer works and I cannot install busybox nor CWM. Any help would be appreciated.

Use Lelus' method to root. You can use my edited bin file for V20F:

I had to flash the ROM again when that happened to me. For some reason math bin file didn't work for me. I tried several times and I chalked it up to user error. Ended up using the lgpwn method and it worked.

LG Optimus F3 from T-Mobile root blocked?

Hey everyone, I had my LG Optimus rooted successfully using Motochopper but I ended up getting a update and it removed the root, I re-ran Motochopper like five times and not a single was successful so I'm assuming that update patched the exploit.
Is there anyway I can root it other than Motochopper or anyway I can get Motochopper to work again..?

Have you tried Cydia Impactor? someone on another forum reported working after the OTA update. BTW did you modify/deleted any system apps before applying the OTA?
No I haven't, I've been looking for alternatives for rooting but only Motochopper came up.
As for system modification no.

EDIT:
I quickly looked up a guide on that and attempted to do it.
I get this error(See attachment), not sure if there was a way to fix this or if it just simply isn't compatible.

Can you link to the guide or provide what step it's failing on? Note the part about having 'adb devices' able to detect the phone first when it's connected to the PC:
"If you are on Windows, you may have to install a device driver to talk to your device over USB. If your device is not detected, use Impactor's USB Driver Scan feature to attempt to automatically construct and install a driver for your device. You do not need the Android SDK."
Or come to this forum, the guy 'umar805' claimed he re-rooted after the OTA update using both Cydia Impactor and Kingo.
http://androidforums.com/metropcs-t...oot/803573-new-system-update.html#post6320053
Well I wasn't getting stuck first of all.. it says that after the attempt completes, basically all the guide said was to click start with
"# drop SuperSU SuperSU to /system/xbin/su" selected..
I have the drivers installed and when running "devices" command with adb it detects it.
I try Driver Scan with Cydia Impactor and it just says "No such device"

I tried Kingo and it seemed to have worked!, I have root access back so Kingo seems to work fine for it.

[Q] SuperSU, Installed Failed

Hello!
My phone (Cherry Mobile Bubble Android 2.3.5) was rooted before through Mobogenie's One Click Root. I don't have any problem my apps gaining root access. But i can't do software update, so i thought that's because of being rooted. So I did permanent root at SuperSU settings, and I have successfully updated my phone. But when I rooted my phone again, I can't gain root access through SuperSu. It always shows "Installation failed". I do have an update zip file on my sd cards root. But to no avail.
Please help. I'm noob regarding on this.
You cant just install SuperSU and expect it to work. You need to use your 1 click tool again. Or another full rooting method.
When you unrooted the binaries that was root were deleted.

In addition, I already did uninstalling and re-installing superSU. And I have also tried to use Superuser or any other superuser app, but nothing happens. I already did a factory reset, but still no change.

I already did that. I've rooted it again through one click root, and it says i am rooted. But SuperSu says, installation failed. While superuser says, it can't gain root access.
I have lost root access before when I updated SuperSu, I can't remember what i did then. But i was able to get back root access.
If you have a custom recovery superSU has the option to flash the correct one manually.

Is there other way for me to flash the correct one?
Try Vroot, its another one click root method. I used it on my Note 3 and installed superSU afterwards. One downside is it's chinese, so its hard to read lol.

Why re flash firmware? Un root in superuser
I just flashed back to stock and rooted with ioroot. Usb debugging now stays enabled after a reboot. It must be a issue with stump root. And I wanted to flash just so it would be a fresh start over.

Does usb debugging really need to be checked all the time? I get the Titanium error but the app works just fine for everything I tried.

Not sure, its just kinda annoying.
I guess it could be an issue if you start playing around with things and get into a bootloop situation.
I used Stump and had this problem. I used SU to unroot and re rooted with ioroot. It was no problem and it sticks now.
And as the poster above said, it needs to be on on case we mess up. Thank you sir for pointing that out.
