Why in every upgrade of android comes with a new bugs and problems, what does upgrade means in android world? does it means new upgrade/version for a better android performance or a new Toy or codes to be improve for the developers???
e.g.
Jelly Bean 4.0 bugs bugs bugs
Jelly Bean 4.1 bugs bugs
Jelly Bean 4.2 bugs
Jelly Bean 4.3 bugs bugs bugs
:silly::silly::silly::silly:
most of the developers here move to a new version leaving the old version unstable??
I'm just curious :silly:

Thats true man .... google had to figure that out first
Because of fragmentation. Android runs on lots of different devices, you can't test every feature on every one of them. But yes, it can be a bit frustrating.
But android is good

its true
That could be possibly true, but obviously the cause of all these bugs is the amount of firms ricompiling AOSP source codefor their devices, adding their bloatware and their custom launcher.
I heard, a while ago, some news about former Android key lime pie (that I really hope will be true, at least for the next version of android): all devices will run android vanilla (like Nexus) and stock launcher such as touchwiz, sense etc, will be avaible on Play Store, so who likes those launcher, will be able to decide if install or not. That could be a nice way to reinterpretate Android

Jelly Bean Leaked a month early.
re : http://www.slashgear.com/jelly-bean-for-galaxy-nexus-leaks-28236230/
"You can download the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update here [zip file] though be warned, it’s unclear if all the bugs have been ironed out of this version. If you want the most stable release for your Galaxy Nexus it’s probably safer to hold off until Google pushes it out OTA officially in mid-July."
This should be in Q&A shouldn't it?
Gnex rom leak has nothing to do with developing.
Even the new official Android SDK is out but still not helpful.
Well thats not entirely true. It could be ported as is being done for quite a few devices (HTC One X, Nexus S, HTC Incredible), but it won't be a built from source rom then and could be quite buggy.

TI OMAP platform? I would love to see you try.
Hello
As the new OS jelly bean has been launched and being imported to many phones slowly
IS there any news about jellybean being imported to NEOV or sony officially upgrading it :O
And i heard sometime back that google was goin to launch SIRI like app for Android has it come with jellybean ??
Patients for jelly beans !
The Siri like application is called "Google Now" & it can work in Ice Cream 4.0.3, you just Need AOSP Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749045
you need a minimum of 1 Gig RAM for smooth run.
We should wait for custom Rom based on Jellybean

Jelly beans 1st tested on Google nexus S, & it has 512MB RAM!
Instead of waiting for the new google voice release, maybe we should support some of the good Siri alternatives already out there I think "Assistant" is a good alternative.

The latest I believe is 4.1.2 and I'd recommend EPinter. He is really good about keeping his releases up-to-date. (weekly updates if not multiple updates) I have used his ROM as my daily for a long. Stable as a rock, even without HWA, his rom is smooth and pleasant to use.
Also, I believe most of the Atrix developers and users are concerned with a better kernel than newer releases with broken libs and HWA.
Edit: If all you want are the keyboard and camera from 4.2, they have been ported and work with Epinter's rom.
Keyboard bug
Sorry but 4.2 keyboard hides when longpress erase key :/ i don't know how, but it simply hides like a bug...i will try with otrher lenguajes since i use spanish. do you know if it was actually ported to spinter?

PLEASE KEEP TO TOPIC
This thread is about the actual functionality of the New Jelly Bean update for the Desire X
and not whether you have it or not. Thats discussed on other threads.
I have come from Froyo on the Wildfire to the DX with ICS...well i can still do all what i have done in the past, but much better.
What improvements will JB bring to the DX. Can some one explain what we should see.
I have seen some one already explain, but it would be nice to get another point of view.
Some have issues and some dont, it confusing for us noobs:silly:
What is the hype behind it.
The reason why i am concerned is that some guys want to revert back to ICS, and thats not what it should be. JB should be an improvement.
lastly, the few hicups people have with the latest JB, could it be to an app or user related issue.

Same as you I have came from Froyo to Jelly Bean itself first of all the update was great Speed improvements were there (example is scrolling wallpapers in personalize its feels like the HTC One. Second the new software We all know Beats audio got screwed up by the OTA but HTC fixed it with anothe OTA and now bass is back This Update also enables us to test new software and to discover new things with Sense 4+ and also a feel of Jelly Bean, remember not all devices could get an update from their own manufacturers so were lucky enough to get this lol now we just need to deodex the stock JB ROM and custom ROMs would be all over the forum (I could do one now just no time to deodex the JB Stock ROM).
Wow, this is a positive post. Positive info that i expected.
Thankyou

See it this way,
Jelly bean is the LATEST android OS (although 4.2 > 4.1) but still, the CURRENT SUPER PHONE (HTC ONE) which gives Galaxy IV a scare, was also on 4.1.2 and will get 4.2.2 in a few days. So technically, after JB update, we are having one of the most updated devices around for such money.
Think again what happens to similarly priced samsung n sony phones, (believe me, most are stuck at ICS officially forever).
ON-TOPIC:
JB Sense4+ might not be what you expect, BUT the kernel source code, and libs will enable atis112 and others to port FULLY WORKING CM10 ROMS with Project Butter.
We'll soon get kernel 3.4 source which will be a platform for YEARS to come and keep this device alive. believe me.
My cousins with xperia U/sola, galaxy duos, etc will be stuck @ ICS officially.
Regards
Yasir

Yasir, thankyou for your post, it does give me confidence going forward.
Although i dont understand your last sentence, but it does sound good any way.
I said yesterday that Jelly bean is not so cool..i was stupid, its f....n awesome. Its faster than ICS, web browser and downaloading too. Right now my download speed is 2,5mb/s. With ICS it was hardly reach 1mb/s. Google Now is really good, i can search the nearest restaurent with my voice and it supports hungarian so its good for those who dont speak english (like me )

I'd like to say something on this thing since Yasir already mentioned it(sorry op kind of off-topic)
the 3.4 kernel is actually very exciting because currently barring HTC jb devices this is present on only the latest nexus devices(4, 10) only even nexus 7 is on 3.1 and Samsung devices(yes even s3) is on 3.0 .Thus we are currently on the latest version (officially not true android on 3.8 but we are one of the top few and latest currently) . Also this proves that HTC put a lot of effort (yeah was a Samsung Guy so I know what I'm talking about) thus according to me we should get 4.2 also(surity of about 83%) the real question will be if we get 5.0 or not.
PS I like the stripped down sense.
Htc One X JB kernel : 3.1
Wow, Desire X has a newer kernel, awesome.

All of you are talking about newer kernel, but how will it affect the end user experience? I don't talk about developers, i mean people that buy phone and don't even know about custom ROMs, using stock firmware

You can mock people with high end phones just kidding (although it's true) but don't know the real reason for user who's no developer.

I heard rumors that google is still not working on Android 5.0 'key Lime Pie', and they will also not present it on Google I/O this month.
Apparently they will release a newer version of a Jelly bean ROM, Android 4.3, apperently with codename 'Android 4.3 JWR23B'.
Rumors told me that Google already tested Android 4.3 on a galaxy nexus 7 and nexus 4.
What my question is:
The Samsung galaxy tab10.1 had a timid start with android 4.2, it was laggy and it didn't respond at times, but it turned out to be one of the fastest ROM ever on my galaxy tab10.1 after hard and long work ( i'm flashing pershoot's ROM's (CyanogenMod) now since 11 months), thanks to pershoot.
Will there also be any chance to run a newer android version on this tablet after Android 4.2?
since there were doubts that android 4.2 would ever work on this tablet and turned out to be this smooth, it's giving me alot hope, what do you think?
-what do you think, android 4.3 or 5.0?
-what could be new in android 4.3/5.0?
Let me know!
I heard rumours about the last android version for dual core processor device is 4.2.2 to maintain the quality of later version (4.3++). Can't recall where I read it but if this true then the GT10.1 will stop at Jelly Bean 4.2.2. but, anything is possible..
On my 2nd thougt,if the above is true, this might be the opportunity to the level 17 API's developers and below to strengthen their apps stability, performance and thus give maximum performance to the devices. This might be a good news too.
I think if google upgrades it to android 4.3, most likely there will be bug fixes, like the strange back button It's supposed to bring us to the previous screen until we get to the home screen, but at times, it'll take you to places in apps you've never been, skips screens you've been too, it basically works only half of the time. and if i take a look on my parents's ipad, and if i rotate the screen, the transition is extremely smooth.
If i rotate my galaxy tab or my asus transformer it's kind of... Choppy... If i search the internet, the browser can't follow the speed of your finger on any device i've been on yet, maybe a little bit more browser responsiveness would be great, i'm not saying it isn't smooth yet, but it could be better!
And maybe they will work on more battery life? And if they're already working on it, maybe they should work on a new way to stay connected with people, what i mean is, don't use a stupid samsung app or asus vibe or whatever manufacturers use to connect to a social website, but make it a built-in app?? Like ubuntu does or WP8.
Let your fantasy work..
I don't know why this has been moved to q&a but okay
4.3 coming ,no 5.0 for a while ,
