[Q] "Power menu bug report" function not working - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an original Nexus 7 running Android 4.3. I just learned about the "Take bug report" and "Power menu bug report" method to capture screen shots and logs. Unfortunately, they don't seem to work for me.
I'm logged on with my normal Google account. When I use either method, I get the "Take bug report" popup. When I tap on Report, the popup goes away and then nothing happens - no email - nothing. I've seen a couple of other reports of this happening.
Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Frank

Found the answer to my problem
I have discovered the solution (at least for my Nexus 7)! Here's what happens:
1) Tap Take Bug Report
2) Take bug report "take a while" popup displays - Tap report
3) After about 30 seconds, the words "bug report captured" appear for about 2 seconds on left side of the top manu bar ( the one with Time and WiFI and other icons.
4) An adroid icon then displays on the left side (where downloads and other status indicators display).
5) Swiping down on those icons displays an item "Bug report captured"
6) Taping on the item brings up a "Complete action using" popup that includes Gmail.
7) Taping the Gmail icon allow you to send the bug report text and its associated screen capture to yourself.

Hmmmm
I still do not see any icon in notifications area.
Maybe this feature broke when my Note 2 updated to 4.3.

messages panel: sms show still as unread after reading

Not only after "just reading", but also after replying or opening the green contactinfo-link, most of the time I have to open the sms a second time before it's marked as "read" (not showing as new message on the sliding panel and no bold font in message).
Does anyone have a solution for this ?
After I read the message, if I press the HOME button, it still shows the sms as unread, but if I press the Back button, everything is fine.
Thank you, the Back button is the solution.

Gmail 4.3 "swipe to archive/delete in notifications" not working.

Is anyone else experiencing problems related to the new "swipe to archive/delete in notifications" function in Gmail 4.3? Specifically, not being able to?
After upgrading to Gmail 4.3 on both of my devices (TF101 running Team EOS 4, and One S running LiquidSmooth 2.1), I had the ability to archive/delete from notifications. However, I noticed that this function was missing yesterday; it's gone back simply to "swipe to dismiss".
I've tried reinstalling, to no avail.
Ah, I figured it out.
One must swipe down on the notification itself in order to archive/delete/reply.
I was confused, because after the upgrade the options were already there (I didn't have to swipe down). I must have messed with it somehow.
I don't know how you did it. I have same problem as you but I can't swipe down notification (I can only swipe to side).
[edit]
This option is available only when you have no lasting tasks in notify (it should be totally empty if you want to have archive/delete option)

Click to collapse
you just have to pinch the collapsed notification, and it'll unfold and show the buttons. But mine dosen't show "delete", though
edit: delete vs archive in notifications is regulated by the same switch in general settings that defines the action for swiping an e-mail in the messages list.
Thank you for the tip! It works!

[Q] Lock screen shortcuts randomly stop swiping action?

I love the "swipe up an icon to launch that application" feature of the lock screen on the One. But I've noticed that (seemingly randomly) it just stops working. For instance, I'll grab the chrome icon and swipe up, and the phone won't register that I've grabbed anything, and the screen just unlocks. Rather than an icon floating with my swipe gesture -- the lockscreen just fades out and then the phone displays whatever activity was open when the screen was turned off (almost like I've grabbed the lock icon, though I haven't). Has anyone else experienced this? And how can i get it to go back to the default behavior?
Did you install any kind of notifier that would display on top of the lock screen? I found out that after installing Notifierpro with accessibility services turned on it messed up the Sense lock screen.
I have posted my experience on a different thread and did not see your post. I just thought maybe you are experiencing the same problem.

Mine sorta does the same thing. Sometimes I will grab an icon (any icon for that matter) and it won register the swipe at all, It won't even bother unlocking and it wont register any swiping at all until I do one of two things
- I will have to hit the power button twice to sleep and wake the device then swipe to unlock
or
- Hit the Home or Back button then swipe to unlock
anyone experience this? hope this helps

Cannot dismiss dialogs by touching outside them

I just switched to S4 from a Stock android based Motorola phone. In the previous phone having KitKat, I always dismissed all dialogs by touching outside the dialogs in the empty shadowed areas. But since I switched to the S4, which has Lollipop, I see that I cannot dismiss dialogs anymore this way. I need to press the back button for this purpose.
Here's how you can also reproduce the issue:
Go to a conversation in Hangouts, long-press a message, this dialog can be dismissed by clicking an area outside the dialog. Now click options>delete and then this new popup/dialog cannot be dismissed in the similar way. This happens in almost all apps that I cannot simply dismiss the dialogs. Another place where I CAN dismiss it is the wifi details dialog.
Is this a feature or a bug? I have hard-reset my phone already and it started from the very first phone setup phase.

Note 8 only shows latest text message on lockscreen (HELP plz)

How can I see more than the latest message from someone on the lockscreen?? For example:
Message 1: hi
Message 2: how are you
Lockscreen: only shows 'how are you' and even if I pull down on the notification, it won't show 'hi'.
When I get one message, it's perfect. It shows the sender and a preview of the content, but if I get any more messages from the same sender, it switches to '2 new messages'. It's annoying because I have to unlock my phone anytime I get more than one message to see the content. I wish it would show the preview content of each message and if there were many messages then i could scroll through them on the lock screen as it works on basically any other phone.
Some suggested I pull down the notification which expands it but that only happens if two separate people have texted me then it shows a preview of only the latest message from each person..
I was surprised by how few threads there were about this issue. This is a basic feature which Samsung should implement. I understand some people don't want an excessive amount of notifications on their lock screen so only the latest one is shown but it is highly inconvenient for those of us that do. At least have a way to toggle this feature on/off.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Is there a fix for this? I have posted to XDA about this before but no replies.. thanks in advance.
