Hello,
I keep losing Carrier Signal on my phone frequently, I tested the same service provider by keeping two phones (HTC Desire X and other phone). The other phone had signal but DX had none.
How do I fix this?
Thanks

Hi!
I received my HTC Hero on thursday. I have some trouble getting a stable 3G / HSPA connection with my local providers over here in Germany (tested with E-Plus and O2). It falls back to EDGE or even GPRS quite often although my old Nokia E51 has a strong stable signal (all 6 of 6 bars for signal quality).
I also had trouble connecting to an open unsecured WLAN.
Is anyone else experiencing such problems (hopefully not)? If so, I just got a defective unit...
Any hints appreciated. Did find anything via Google yet. Probably because it has just been released.
Best regards, cos
Yes I've been having problems too. I have noticed a weaker reception I most areas - signal strength drops from 3 out of 4 to 1 out of 4 for no apparent reason - in weak signal areas I lose signal completely - wifi cuts in and out at home.
I'd also appreciate hints - HTC asked me to do a system reset which I'm reluctant to do becuase I don't believe it will solve anything.
Using SimFree HTC Hero on the Orange Network(UK). (I've tried 2 & 3G - I've tried O2 simcard)
**UPDATE**
Did a system reset - no difference
Sent phone to seller who compared it with other units- same signal strength
Took it to an Orange Shop where they had a signal booster which should have given me full signal - I got 3 bars.
Hopeful for a software update
Hello everyone,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a HTC Desire HD. I am absolutely thrilled with so many things on the SGS2 but lately I've found that the wireless signal strength on my HTC Desire HD seems to be a lot stronger than my SGS2.
I've checked this holding both phones in the exact same spot connecting to the same router and found that the bars on the HTC always seem higher than the SGS2.
Thinking it just might have something to do with the way the phones were displaying the strength - I placed both phones in one location and found that the HTC was streaming music seamlessly but the SGS2 was losing signal strength and had to keep rebuffering and in some cases lost signal completely and I had to walk back to a strong spot and restart the wifi on the phone for it to pick up again.
Has anyone else been facing these issues?
Both phones are running Android 2.3.3 - is there any fix out there for it? I remember reading somewhere that this had to with Gingerbread on Samsung as this problem was faced earlier on the Samsung but after updating to Gingerbread the problem reappeared.
Anyone know if there's any fix for this to boost signal strength?
Much thanks in advance for any help offered.

Signal strength or inaccurate bars use tool to measure signal strength is the only measure of the wifi .

Thanks for the quick response - I will try that out.
But what I'm finding is the the current default wi-fi bars on both handsets seem accurate.
Holding the SGS2 and the HTC DHD in the exact same spot & streaming music from Winamp - the HTC plays the music uninterrupted whereas the SGS2 keeps losing the connection and has to buffer again.
I had seen some earlier threads that this was a problem on the SGS as well but it was fixed later. And then the Gingerbread update came out and the problem was back again.
Is this the case for anyone else. Seeing as they fixed it before is anyone aware of a fix for this to boost the wi-fi signal reception?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

I've had a Radar for a couple of months and its cellular data performance has always been flaky - with 5 bars of 3G signal data would simply stop for no particular reason. Happened in different areas of the country, different times of the day, didn't happen with the same SIM in a different handset etc. etc.
So I had Vodafone swap the handset and so far, so good - the problem has gone.
However, the new handset has haptic feedback for the Back/Home/Bing buttons and it's driving me crazy. I am 99% certain the last handset did not do this - there doesn't appear to be any way to disable it.
Does anyone else have a Radar that doesn't have haptic? If they do exist and I wasn't dreaming I might try another swap to see if I can get lucky.
TIA.
My Radar 4G has always had vibration feedback........ And no, there isn't a way to disable it.
About the signal, I also normally have 2 bars of 4G in my house.. IDK if it's the signal or the phone.
HTC Radar Tmobile version here.. never had problem 4G around my house and on the road. - NYC area.
Haptic feedback it always there... ever since I gotten it.
i changed my phone from nokia 5800 to htc radar about 3 months ago.
i noticed that the antenna in this phone is not so good compared to my older phone.
i always got full signal strenght before, but now only 3-4 bar
Hi,
I have Asus zenfone max pro m2 phone with airtel sim. At my home, I get almost zero connectivity (both voice and data), all the time. It works perfectly fine in other places, but, I think it might not still be the best though, I do see some minor drops in connectivity every now and then, in other places too.
I placed the sim in another phone(redmi note 4g) at my home. It gets good voice and data connectivity (4g with decent speed). So I think the problem might not be with the sim. It should either be with the phone or something to do with airtel's cell towers.
I have attached the screenshots of phone information in both the cases (my phone with no connection and redmi note 4g which has good connection)
I think the reason might be either the phone has a bad radio/modem hardware or software. Or there might be problems with connecting to some cell towers. I think there are more than one cell tower nearby and somehow my phone is ending up not being connected to either(something to do with cell tower handoff!?). I sometimes see the phone getting connected to 4g/edge, but quickly drops. I do have JIO sim and it works fine. I have tried several things, both basic(switching sim cards, placing only one sim card, reset network, reboot etc etc.) and advanced(trying out different roms, locking bands with network signal guru), but no luck, anyone facing similar problem or has any solution? If its some kinda software problem, I can try flashing some software(kernel/modem?), I have my phone rooted.
Thanks in advance
Hello all,
I started to have some problems with signal strength.
It's not ROM-related (currently the newest CrDroid).
If I cut my WiFi and set the phone to prefer LTE signal sometimes I'm not able to use data. It's constantly switching between LTE / LTE+.
Sometimes it will connect and it's fine but most of the time it isn't.
It only happens in places when the signal is poor.
If I set the phone to prefer 3G it works perfectly normal.
My gf got the same phone and didn't experience that issue.
I believe that for some time after I received this phone it worked normally.
Maybe it's firmware related issue?
I heard about an issue with the poor signal on this phone...
Thank You in the advance for your answers.
