Now i want to upgrade to 4.1.2 and i have downloaded file like this
LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013.zip and it's inside is .tot file if i extracte so can i use this file with LGNPST and if yes which file
should i use .zip or .tot one

The following is straight from carrett's guide: Obtain the following files: AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip (available on IRC), and the firmware. Unzip AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip and follow the instructions in "READ ME FIRST.txt" (mad props to tSilenzio for automating this process).
Once you download and install LGNPST there should be a READ ME FIRST text file that contains all the instructions needed to use LGNPST. I'm going by memory but I believe you rename the .tot file to .bin and then select that in LGNPST.

Extract the .tot from the zip file. Then rename the .tot to .bin. That should be about it. Then just select the .bin (previously the tot file) and flash with LGNPST.

Please don't post the same question in three places! And in your case I would relock your phone with freegee and do the OTA update to jb.

Then you can unlock and root it again. You will then have more options in the future to use other custom Roms.

If you're on ICS all you have to do is download the superuser.zip from their site and flash through CWM.

Help yourself and learn how to search and read threads. All of the information you need is laid out very simply if you look for it more than 2 seconds. Seriously, why should people help you do something when it would take them more time to explain it than for you to search and learn it very simply yourself?
Asking for help is for when you run into problems that occur outside of following the simple instructions outlined in the various threads related to rooting and ROMing.

Download this file: http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
Use this CWM: http://thinkleet.de/cwm/cwm-touch-i717-120409.tar.md5
That is an Odin tar you flash as pda.

the superuser file download link is busted, my friend.
Thanks for posting those, but my REAL question was whether these are the same ones that are hosted on the rootgalaxynote.com website at this link:
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...y-note-sgh-i717-icsgingerbreadeasiest-method/
Does anyone know where his files came from? How come there are no citation credits?
Here is the mirror for the super user zip:

Make sure you have the exact same ICS version as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192532 .
Better yet, use that tutorial as a whole.
Im on the same ics version
EDIT: i factory reset my razr,,flash the 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU fastboot,,root and then backup root and unroot,,boot to recovery,,wipe cache,,flash the ota,, still doesnt work
EDIT 2: i think the file uploaded is corrupted, because when i try to open using winrar, it says "unexpected end of archive" ,but i unable to download the file at this link:

lgemail.apk from ICS (v4.0.4)

I am having an issue with the e-mail application in JB (v4.1.2) and would like to try the ICS (v4.0.4) one to see if the problem exists there, too. I can't figure out how to get the .apk out of the ROM download. If someone that's running ICS would be willing to PM me a download link for "lgemail.apk", that would very much appreciated.
If you have the ice kdz, you can extract it yourself.

I'm not sure if it will work on jelly bean though.

Wow, thanks. I never saw that thread. I was able to extract the lgemail.apk no problem. Now, I guess because it's a system app, I can't install it and overwrite the existing one. It starts to install and then just says that it was not installed. This is my wife's phone and it's not rooted. I'm gathering that there is no way to do it without rooting...?
Yeah sorry my friend, but you need root. Sometimes a simple swap with root will work (for replacing the app) but sometimes it won't (need to fix it first)

You shouldn't have made a thread for this but, here is the information you asked for. That was a typo the file is named e2fsck.bin
Artas182x cwm app renames it to .bin it is the original e2fsck

[TOOL] KDZ - Extract and Merge

I was looking on the web for some kind of kdz file extraction and re-zip tool that could help with inserting the root file AND possibly the V20B bootloader unlock function for all of our L9 variants. Being a P769 user I would definitely gravity to using our phone first! But I found this link in android and it shows you how to extract a kdz via LG UPTESTEX MOD. Sound familiar, well it should because that's what we use to offline flash our phones. So it's saying that we can extract, modify then merge the files back INTO A KDZ for flashing. If this is true then we can manipulate the ROM! but I'm no devy so I can't so do. Here is the link for anyone curious about it:
Oh my apologies if I didn't put this in the right forum. I always wan to place things in the general forum so that I get maximum eyeage. But I placed it here for dev's to see.
Thanks for sharing! I hope the devs here can use this to their advantage!

Maybe we can load up cyanogenmod with the stock kernel a-la 2nd init with this method. THANKS
Well nice thought, but I think it wont work. I think so for a simple reason. We already tried that over at the p970 forum. I dont really remember of the dev who tried it, but it was either navossoc or xonar, if I remember correctly. He said something like, it s possible to extract the bin files, but he receives some nonsense code and doesnt know, how to interpret and put them back together. If you need the source, pm me please and I ll look it up
