According to his post... It said to delete the file "e2fck" and rename "e2fck.bin" to e2fck... Was that a typo? Because on my phone its "e2fsck".. Should i follow the steps anyways? Dont wanna make a mistake.

You shouldn't have made a thread for this but, here is the information you asked for. That was a typo the file is named e2fsck.bin
Artas182x cwm app renames it to .bin it is the original e2fsck

Okay I made my first Rom, but I can't get it to install after building it and trying to install the zip file. The installation gets aborted and I'm not sure why. There error mentioned tmp/kernel or something like that, but I don't even know why it is looking for anything kernel related since they aren't flashed in recovery. Anyways I guess I just need a quick guide to the part of the Rom that handles instalation.

Dumped and restored as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22723044&postcount=1
You can't flash this with Odin or CWM. Read the link above. But really, don't bother, it doesnt work anyway.
It causes my AT&T Note to be very laggy when launching apps, I'm sure there must be some files needed from the OS to make it work properly. But it does work, enough to speed test with.

The reason its not working because there are two folders. Backup folder inside the folder. Make sure you place a single folder that contains restore in backup folder
Okay first of all I wanted to THANK YOU for the uploads and just wanted to confirm that the Nandroid worked perfectly for me.
as of modem, i tried to flash the 2 .BIN files with Odin and both failed. now if only someone could make a CWM flashable then i will be more happy. right now i am using T989UVLE1 radio and download i got between 4-8mbps and upload is under upload .30 - .50mbps.
Rotohammer already mentioned it did nothing for the AT&T note. he's gonna swap antennas next. stay tuned
I dont see anyone selling the i717 antenna let alone the t-mobile antenna, if that is the solution, we are screwed!

udpate: I think it might have been RIL lines or file not sure which but in another thread which I cant find now had saidsomething about it working with other files and stuff. correct me if I am wrong thanks
did you remove the RIL files in it? I read somewhere that if the ril are still there it could cause problems?
mdm.bin looks way too large compared to the other radio collections. I copied the two files into an exesting CWM radio zip and flashed and can confirm rotohammer's results.. makes the phone sooo slow you almost think its locked up.
maybe it has something to do with the wifi calling tmobile has and its not working on at&t ??

After you made the rom, update, theme, ect. You select all of the stuff in the main folder then
(For Windows: right click and click send to them compressed zip file)
(for android with any root browser: select all of the stuff in the main folder and in the bottom you will see zip or something)
Sorry if you have linux or mac but I don't have those. :what:

Well, you also need the proper folder structure (system/app/someapp.apk, for example), and a META-INF folder with a proper updater-script and update-binary.. And zip those folders together.. And possibly sign the zip (unless sig checks are disabled in your custom recovery). I bet there are other guides around...
And sorry about the joke comment - no offense meant. I later thought you might be posting it for someone else... but searches and/or PM's are great too..

This link can get you started with writing the actual updater-script. There are several threads here with tools that also build the scripts and zips like you were asking.
If you just want to flash apps to system/app, you can use this (works smoothly )
please see last post by me for question..

Here's my question /
I am on stock 4.0.4 with rooted and unlocked with twrp installed with Freegee ...
Now i want to upgrade to 4.1.2 and i have downloaded file like this
LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013.zip and it's inside is .tot file if i extracte so can i use this file with LGNPST and if yes which file
should i use .zip or .tot one

The following is straight from carrett's guide: Obtain the following files: AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip (available on IRC), and the firmware. Unzip AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip and follow the instructions in "READ ME FIRST.txt" (mad props to tSilenzio for automating this process).
Once you download and install LGNPST there should be a READ ME FIRST text file that contains all the instructions needed to use LGNPST. I'm going by memory but I believe you rename the .tot file to .bin and then select that in LGNPST.

Extract the .tot from the zip file. Then rename the .tot to .bin. That should be about it. Then just select the .bin (previously the tot file) and flash with LGNPST.

Then you can unlock and root it again. You will then have more options in the future to use other custom Roms.

I am trying to root my Fascinate sch-1500 but when I download the cwm 4.0 it shows up as a .bin file and Odin is looking for a .tar file. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? Thanks.

I think I have a copy of it hosted somewhere. It may be in a thread under the general forum. There's a guide on how to install Gummy ICS and I think I hosted my own copy of CWM 4 there. If not, look for some other guides under the General forum

Thanks. I will look around but it just seems odd that a .tar would download as a .bin. I am new at this so I may just need to stay with what I have because I don't want to screw up my phone.
Edit: No luck finding a solution to my problem. No matter what I do the cwm file downloads in the .rar format and when I extract it goes to recovery.bin. I can't figure it out so at this point I am stuck and no one else seems to have ever had this problem. I keep thinking I am doing something wrong but I download files all of the time and I cannot imagine what I am doing to mess this up.
